Dec 31: received email asking me to attend for Finger Print and Interview . on Jan 11
Jan 11: VO said Application is approved (no 221 G or any slips)

CEAC still shows "Administrative Processing" with below description. Does it take 3 weeks to for Visa to be issued?

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

Here is my timeline:
Jan 10th: Dropped off documents at 3pm
Jan 16th: Status changed to Issued at 10am
Jan 16th: Status on UStraveldocs changed to "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery".

Passport hasn't shipped yet. But hopefully this means I don't have to go for an interview like some of the folks had to.

My profile: FTE with 6.5 years with the same company. Masters from US from top tier university. I140 approved.

H1B delays and e-visa extensions
Hi All,
This is a bit off topic but still completely related to the Admin processing delays. Has anyone here extended Indian visitor e-visas for kids? My kids have Indian visitor e-visas that was for 60 days from time on entry which will expire on Jan 29th. I dont know what is going on with the Admin processing timelines so I want to start gather information about extensions.
From what I have read, extensions on e-visas are not allowed. Which I think is ridiculous. What if like in my case the e-visa holders are minors and are stuck here due to issues like this.

Has anyone has similar experience or know of ways we can extend the e-visas. What happens if we over extend our stay?

H1 B Interview - Hyderabad
Hi

I've attended the interview last week and the VO asked me regular questions about my end client, salary, role etc.. Later I was told that my case needs additional processing time, but was not handed any slip.

Today I was informed that my client has received a questionnaire regarding the same.

Did anybody go through the same process? How long does this take and is this a complicated process?Any advise is much appreciated.

221g Blue Slip h1b stamping
I went for my h1b stamping interview. Thought it went well. They asked me or i797, LCA, i129 during the interview and I handed it to them.

The questions asked were, what's the location, what's your salary, how long have you been with the compnany.

Then she handed me the blue slip. She basically held all the docs that I gave to her and said email all these things. And also the project description. Returned my passport and told me that they would ask me to drop it off at the VAC if the case is approved

Is it something that I need to be worried about? How long does it usually take take to resolve these kind of issue?
This is my first time for H1B stamping. I was on stem OPT before

Passport drop off -> 221(g) -> Interview -> Visa Approved -> Admin Processing
I had a passport drop off on 26th December 2018.

Visa Consulate : Mumbai
After 10 days, on 9th of Jan 2019, I received my passport with 221(g) administrative processing and requested to attend the interview.

I attended the interview and the visa officer asked a couple of questions saw my I797 and then said your visa is issued and kept the passport on 10th of December 2019.

Since then the visa status is updated to Administrative Processing. It is more than 3 business days.
Does this mean another interview ? or long long wait? Have a return flight booked for 18th of Jan.

Anyone in the same situation as mine ?

H1B approved at Hyd, but tracker says admin processing
I had my H1B interview at the Hyd consulate on 1/14.

VO said visa is approved, but the online status on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx says administrative processing:
"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.
For more information, please visit U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad."

Is this usual or do I have a 221g-like situation (even though I wasn't given any slip and the visa was approved)?

Thanks!

Mumbai Consulate Dropbox->Interview->Admin Processing
Hi All,

I submitted my documents for H1B extension (petition approved till 07/2021) on Dec 17 2018. Got an email to collect the passport from VAC on Dec 31, the passport had a green slip with interview invitation asking me to come any working day between 10:30-11 am.

Went for an interview on Jan 2. The VO asked basic questions regarding my Job including salary, since when I am working, FTE, where I live etc etc. The VO asked questions regarding my travel history (countries I had visited for tourism), asked if I know my rights and said that my visa has been issued, took my passport and said that I should be receiving my passport in few business days. It has been 8 business days so far and the case status still says Administrative processing with date last updated as 'Jan 2'.

I work FTE for a Big 4 consulting firm. Anybody in similar situation? Any idea whats happening?
