H1B, H4 Visa

Submitted H1B H4 DropBox in Hyderabad on 09th Jan and the status changed to Application Received on 11th Jan. Is there anyone else submitted dropbox same time and What is the status showing ? I am not sure how much time they are taking.If you are also having same questions please respond me in this thread.

i had my h1b visa interview on 10th dec,2018 at Mumbai consulate. i had got blue slip and was asked to submit additional documents. ever since then , it has been admin processing.

i am trying to create a whats app group of such folks, who are stuck in this mess, just so that we stay updated. i know its not going to help in getting the visa issued, but passing of information would help i guess. please mention your number down, i would add. my number is +1 6825974872.

Here is my experience,

VO : You work for ABC company?
ME : Yes.

VO : Are you working on a project with ABC or do you have an end client?
ME : I have an end client.

VO : Name of your client?
ME : Answered

VO : Location of your client?
ME : Answered

VO : Annual income?
ME : Answered

VO : What is your role?
ME : Application Programmer

VO : Do you know your rights in US?
ME : Yes.

VO : Handed over me a white slip (221g with 2nd option ticked - requires administrative processing) Everything is good, nothing to worry, we have to go through a routine Administrative processing and we don't need any other documents from you. I'm keeping your passport for Visa. It may take 2 weeks for processing.
You can track your case with the number on your slip.
ME : Thank you.

Anyone on the same track?

When I checked the status using the case number it says invalid case number, whereas when I used my DS-160 number instead of Case number it worked.

Please, i have some questions... As an employee who his employer is going to sponsor his trip on B1 US visa for 15 days seminar:

1. Does he need to present his own personal bank account statement or employer's bank account statement to the consular?

2. If the applicant is a civil servant, what type of financial support documents does he need to present at the embassy? Hope to read from you as soon as possible. Thank you all.

I had my H1B biometric and interview in Mumbai on 10th Jan 19 and 11th Jan 2019.Me and my wife both are in same domain so we were expecting lot questions for H1B for me and H4 for wife. Following is the experience.
Day 1 :Biometric scheduled on 10th Jan 2019 @ 11.15 am .
Entry was granted @ 11.10.
In the main office as I was having my toddler son with me I was given priority.
@ First counter documents were checked. Photograph of son was asked. Then I was handed over token number. There are 7 windows and token number for the screen is displayed on screen. When my token number came, I approached to the counter.name of son and birthdate was asked for verification purpose. Then it was my turn. I was asked my full name for verification along with birthdate. Finger printing and photograph was taken. In the meantime wife was taking care of son. She was not needed there. After my procedure was done wife was called to do her finger printing and photograph.
Whole process was over in 10 mins and we were out in just 20 mins.
Please note that during biometric they will stick receipt on your passport and make some validation by highlighting specific part on DS 160 confirmation of each applicant.
Please make sure to carry the same DS160 for visa interview .Also please carry photograph of kid as per US visa specifications.
Day 2: Visa interview scheduled on 11th Jan @ 9.15 am.
Reached gate @ 9.10.
Passports for all of us were checked and entry was granted. After security check we were let inside. VFS lady asked us to sit and she told that we will be granted entry on priority basis as we were along with kid.
Within 5 mins we were granted entry inside actual interview place.
There was huge que outside in waiting area and inside but being with baby we were asked to come forward.
1: VFS person took our passport and asked to come to window where fingerprinting was crosschecked for myself and wife.
2: Once done, we were assigned window for interview.
3: There was one person ahead of us waiting for interview. Once his turn was done we were called.
4: Once we reached @ window , son said hi to VO lady before VO or myself along with wife greeted each other.
5: VO was happy and smiled back and said hi to him.
Now the real thing starts.
6: Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning. How are you?
Me: I am good. How about you?
VO: I am good. Can I have your passport please?
Handed all three passports.
VO: So are you working for any company.
Me: Mentioned name of my organization.
Me: I will be working for this company and this is my client.
VO: Can I see your I-797 copy.
Me: Handed over I-797
VO: What you will do for this client?
Me: I will working as XYZ and mentioned the job role.
VO: What is your salary?
Me: Mentioned the salary as per LCA.
VO: So how long you have been married.
Me: Gave the appropriate answer.
7: VO was typing something on her system and handed white slip and said these are your rights as workers.
I knew at that same moment that I am through with the interview.
8: VO: Ok. Your Visa has been approved. You will receive it next 3-4 working days.
  Me: Thanks. Have a nice day and weekend.
We are out of embassy by 9.30.Visa interview lasted for about 5 mins where as in no questions were asked to wife.
My advice would be prepare for the interview by making your questioner by going through all experiences mentioned on this site for H1B and H4 also. You may hear cases getting rejected while at the time of interview but just ignore them and focus on your interview.
Be confident and be honest. Please go through LCA and CASE carefully.
For people appearing for interview with toddler, baby food is allowed inside. Make sure that kid has proper sleep and properly fed before interview so s/he remains active during interview and biometric.
Carry all documents in folder. Sack or phones are not allowed inside.

My wife and I went to the interview together. I am on h1 for the last 7 years with multiple visa stampings, my wife had one h4 visa stamping before. Full time employee, no client.

VO was very friendly and casual.

After the greeting

VO: what is your designation in the company

VO: salary?
me: answered
VO: What is the highest level of education?
me: answered
VO(to my wife): when did you guys get married?
my wife: answered
VO: any kids?
My wife: answered.
VO: I see you were on f1 before, did you compete your masters?
My wife: yes
VO: were you ever out of status?
My wife: nope
VO: do you know your rights?
both: yes
VO: your visa is approved and your wife's visa needs some administrative processing. Nothing to worry, you will get your passport back in 5 B days and her's might take an extra five. Have a good day

My wife had Biometrics at New Delhi 12/11/18, visa interview 12/12, case updated 12/18, status still shows administrative processing. In her 5th week of waiting. Teen son 16 yo got 221(g) and the dreaded form DS-5535. No criminal history, no visit to travel banned countries. The reason given was the child’s travel history did not match mine despite me telling the VO that he travelled with his mother. My H1B got stamped without any problem. I had appeared with son for visa interview on 12/21, biometrics on 12/20. My passport reached home within a week. Our travel plans are stranded. Calls and emails to Embassy have not yielded anything.

Got my first H1-B approved this year and had come here for stamping so that I can travel for scientific conferences etc for work. Working with same company for 2+ years

Here is my interview experience:

Me: Good morning
VO: Passport/ I-797A (VO was very polite and nice)
Me: Gave them
VO: Highest education?
Me: PhD Chem E
VO: So you do research in your position correct?
Me: Yes (pretty obvious from my title/role)
VO: sighs...and types something on the computer for a minute
Me: (Nervous...since I know whats coming)
VO: Look ...I am refusing your visa on 221 (g) grounds..it will be pending till you submit these documents. Please submit these documents online and we can process your application further. This is nothing special....its a standard thing we do.
Me: I look at the slip: It needs invitation letter, resume, publications, research info, travel dates, contact info, etc.
Me: Okay cool....I have all this with me right now...would it help?
VO: Unfortunately not....its better for us if you submit it online
Me: Is there any estimated time on this?
VO: *shrugs*
Me: No problem! Completely understand....I will try to get these documents to you quickly...thanks again for your help!

Getting documents ready and planning to submit them on 01/13/2019.

Should not have come here to get it stamped when I had by COS approved. Pain in the rear....but guess that's how it goes.

my status is Admin processing on 11/1 and USTraveldocs says "passport returned and ready for delivery". Does it mean interview/slips etc ? Pls help with any similar experiences.

I see in some case they are calling for intv via emails\phone calls while keeping the passport , whats the difference ?
