CEAC tracking:

First time H1B stamping exp
My interview date was on 26th Feb. My case is not a simple one. My H1B got approved on 2016. Went for PA for same client and location (So no LCA). Got 221G stating additional documents to be submitted like end client letter, SOWs etc. Passport was returned too. My project did provide all the documents however my employer took more than a month to get it verified with the attorneys and today at last got the go ahead from them to send the soft copies to US consulate. Tried sending it and guess what our company email gateway blocked it. I resend it, and it seems now the same email got delivered to them twice. Will there be any issue? I did not receive any acknowledgement from them. Documents were sent twice to them.
My PA consulate: Kolkata
Interview questions: Normal, who's the employer, end client, location, salary.
So cases like H1B got approved more than a year old and interview without any LCA or recent end client letters will be a bit challenging.
Please help me with the queries: If sending email twice could be an issue? do they send any acknowledge email to us? Tried checking the status online still on AP and last updated was 26th feb.

Case in Admin Processing after dropbox submission
My first H-1B stamping was subjected to administrative processing (TAL) back in 2012. My next H-1B stamping (in-person) was successful and issued without delay.

My most recent H-1B stamping (dropbox eligible) was on 23rd. Here is the timeline:

Center: New Delhi Dropbox
Job Profile: MS in US, FT worker for the same employer for last 6 years
Mar 23: Documents submitted
Mar 28: CEAC status as Admin Processing
Mar 29: CEAC status as Admin Processing

I have a return flight on Apr 10. I am now worried that I will have to reschedule it and may have to send 1 kid back to US and keep the other one here (my spouse has own H-1 visa).

Anyone with recent success or delay with dropbox submissions?

Should I go for Visa re-stamping?
Friends - Need your advise. Here is my situation:

- I797 approved through 2020
- I94 date on passport Feb 2019
- However, original H1B visa stamp expiry date on passport: Aug 2018

I am planning to visit India for 2 weeks in Jun 2018. Given such a long processing times, would you recommend going for re-stamping?I will be eligible for drop box. My visa stamp does not expire until Aug and I will be back by June mid, so what would you recommend? Should I skip it this time? I am scared that I will get stuck there for multiple weeks (I am working on a few high profile client engagements). My company is also planning to file I-140 very soon, so might get green card anyways in 12-15 months, so I can afford to delay my next trip a bit. Do you see any challenges? Let me know what you think.

Background: IIT, Consultant, working for the same company for the last 7 years. $160K base.

Thanks everyone in advance. Appreciate all your thoughts.

H1B White Slip
Background: On Student Visa from 2008 - 2013. In school until 2014 on I-20 Extension. On H1-B from 2014 on EVC model. Got a full-time employment from 2016. Have visa approved till March 2019. I have one more year left for extension.

Visa interview: Mar 26th

Questions:
Did you do your masters?
Were you in status while you were doing your masters?
So, you work for ABC company?
How much do you earn?
Where do you live?

Counselor kept my passport and handed me white slip. On the slip, "Your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made" is checked. Counselor said that they will get back to me in 3-4 business days.

I booked my return ticket on Apr 4th. I can't make that date. Not sure how long the process is going to take. I'm worried about my situation and future.

H1b Dropbox at Mumbai 2018
Hello,

My recent experience with H1b visa renewal stamping -
--Dropbox = Feb 8th, 2018
--Received my passport and 221G = Feb 15th, 2018
--Interview date = Feb 16th, 2018

During the Interview VO asked me few questions -
--Employer Name?
--Annual Salary?
--Designation in Company?
--Where do live in the US?
--Which university in the US did you graduated from?

Then at the end of interview V.O says "Your visa is approved and you'll get your passport in 2-3 days"

--Case date created = Feb 9th 2018
--Date updated = Feb 16th, 2018 (Administrative Processing)
--Next date updated = Feb 21st, 2018 (Administrative Processing)
--Last date updated = Feb 28th 2018 (Administrative Processing)

------------------------------------ Then after waiting for an eternity ------------------------------------------------
---Recent Date updated = April 2nd 2018 and status changed back to Application Received from Administrative Processing.

What does this means? Has anyone been in same situation? Any feedback or comment regarding it will be appreciated.

Thanks!

H1B experience Mumbai
My first H1B visa stamping in Mumbai in March 2018.

Background : F1 -> OPT extension -> H1B. Got RFE but case was approved at the end.
Work: Mechanical engineer, working at client site through my employer. Employer is reputed US based company.

OFC:

Just took DS 160, passport. At entrance, they checked DS 160 barcode, put a sticker on passport. Then they checked DS 160 against passport and gave me a token to join a queue for fingerprints. When my turn came, they took fingerprints and photo. Whole process took 15-20 minutes.

Visa:

Reached there about 30 minutes before, saw a very long queue. My queue started after 15-20 minutes past the time.
Me: good morning officer and slid I 979, passport
VO: Scanned passport, probably the record came on the screen. Asked same company same position?
Me: yes
VO: gave back I 797, what is your highest level of education?
Me: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
VO: What is your annual salary?
Me: My annual salary is x
VO: Did you get the white pamphlet?
Me: Yes
VO: Your passport will be ready in 5 to 7 business days
Me: Thanks

There was a couple before me. VO gave them a white slip, told visa cannot be approved this time and needs further admin processing. Every case is different. If your case is good and strong, you should not worry.
Good luck to everyone.
