H4 221G at Kolkata
My wife went for her H4 interview at Kolkata consulate and was given a 221G pink slip. They have checked the box "Other processing". Does anyone know what the other processing might mean?

Questions asked:

1. What visa?
2. H1 spouse 797 copy and visa (I haven't been to India so there is no H1 visa stamped on my passport)
3. What company H1 works? What city?
3. Are you working? (My is wife is on H4EAD)
4. Do you have any kids?

She kept my wife's passport and said it needs additional processing and said she doesn't need any additional document. I am on FTE so not sure what they wanna check specially with H4.

Anyone got idea what "other processing" might mean in 221g pink slip?

I-94 EXPIRED, BUT I-797 STILL VALID
Yesterday I came to know that my I-94 is already expired on 31 th Dec 2017, and right now I am out of status, but I have approved I-797, which has expiration Sep, 2019.

When I recently entered into US on 18th Dec 2016, POE officer put 31th Dec 2017 date on I-94, because I have visa stamp from my previous employer expired on 31 th Dec 2017 , and officer did not ask for my I-797 from my current employer which, has expiry date Sep, 2019. Now I have no idea what to do. Since It has been more than 6 months to my I-94 expiration, I might have to leave USA immediately and I will be ban to enter USA for 3 years on any visa. After googling about this issue came to know following are the options for me:-

1. Go to near by CBP office and get I-94 updated(its too risky, specially, it has been more than 6 months to I-94 expiration)

2. Apply for H1B extension with Nunc pro tunc process.

This is very serious situation for me. Please help me what is the best way to solve this problem. I will really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

First H1B Hyderabad - Success
I am one of those guys who was scared to visit my home country due to stamping issues. I went to US on L1B in 2010. And switched to H1B in 2011, later changed couple of employers now a fulltime employee, even though I was on EC model prior to this I didn’t dared enough for stamping. Finally I decided to visit India irrespective of my stamping fears.

28Feb: Biometrics
1 Mar: Interview

My previous guy had some issues, his visa rejected earlier it seems VO grilled him like anything and rejected his visa by handing over his passport back (I still remember that guy literally begging her for approval and finally he said to VO ‘You are ruining my career’). I thought this might have huge impact on mine. VO didn’t even responded to my greeting, she is right on question no 1.

Q1: Your student visa rejected, do you have any other issues?
Me: No

Q2: What is the purpose of your visit?
I am going on H1B specialty occupation (she didn’t even listen to my answer she moved on to next question)

Q3: What are your roles?
Answered (hardly she listened for 20secs and moved to next question)

Q4: What is your salary?
XX (I am about to finish other digits but she moved to next question)

Q4: Which state do you live?
As she is switching questions too soon, I missed this one and answered something else but she repeated the question.

Q5: Is your wife your dependent?
No, she has her own H1

Questions to dependent (My son 8 years)
Q1. Do you have any siblings?
Answered

Q2. Where is she now?
Answered

VO asked me what about her visa status, I replied she is a US citizen.

And the golden words.

None of my documents are touched. I’d say be fair in filling Ds-160 all my questions are from Ds-160. If you wish to visit your family and friends in India just do it.

Passport recevied on Mar 6th.

Regards,
Mallesh

Hello All,

This is my first-time interview experience. I am a non-masters category and going to work for the product based company

Biometrics: 05-March 2017.
Interview: 06-Match 2017.

we appeared with two H4 Dependents (Wife and Child). Carried all the documents as per my employer recommendation

Questions:
1) Approval Notice?

he repeated my company name after checking my approval notice and then verified something in the system

2) work location?
3) do you have client letter?

my case I explained that I am going to work for in-house product.

4) roles and responsibilities?
5) my highest qualification?

to my wife
1) when you married?

finally, my five years waiting period is over, he took my passport and told my visa approved.

I well prepared to answer confidently and able to present as per my preparation. if you are the genuine candidate show your confidence that is the key as per my experience.

Thank you very much to all who shared all your valuable experiences here that is a great help for preparation.

how long it will take to receive the passport after approved.I am going to collect at my nearest blue-dart center. I checked USA travel docs site, it is stating that my passport is still with consular / embassy. I am wondering why it is still with embassy?

Any pointers on this?

Thanks

Dropbox - Chennai
My situation...
Been in the US since 2007 in F1 and H-1B status, I-140 approved.
Prior H-1B stamp was back in 2015 and I had changed companies thrice after that, all direct employment with known/reputed firms.

Dropped off the docs at the Chennai VAC - they only accepted the I-797's corresponding to the previous H-1B stamp petition and the current petition.

Timeline:
Feb 20 - dropped off docs
Feb 21 - case created
Feb 22 - Administrative Processing
Feb 23 - Issued

Received the passport via BlueDart on Feb 27.

Points worth noting...
- Mobile phones are allowed in the VAC, you only need to turn them off
- There are no studios nearby in case you haven't brought your passport snaps or of they're rejected. However, there are a few enterprising rickshaw-wallahs who hang around right outside the VAC and will take you to a studio and back for Rs 100.

Good luck all.

H1 Transfer Denied with Employer B and both Employer A and B are running paystubs
Hi,

Here is my case details. Current, H1 transfer denied. Please advise with the possible options for me.

1. I have initial H1 visa valid till Sep,2019 with Employer A

2. Got new contract project and filed Amendament and it got RFE after sometime in November 2017 employer A withdrawn amendment and amendment sucessfuly withdrawn on januar 16 2018.

3. While the Amendment withdrawn process in progress with employer A ,I Filed H1 Transfer with employer B in Nov,2017 and started working with B on receipt from Dec mid,RFE raised on Dec-1-2017 with Employer B--> answered on Feb 2018--> Denied on 2/28/2018.

4. I did not inform Employer A that i started working with employer B from dec mid 2018 and From Dec 2018 to till now both Employer A and B are running my paylips.

5. Now the Employer B H1 Transfer Form I129 is denied on 2/28/2018 and not sure about the reason.

6. The Employer A I797 is approved and online I 94 status shows as 09/09/2019 and the amendment withdrawn successfully for new project. I haven't gone out of the country from the date I arrived to US.

7. Running both payslips casuses any issues? Now my transfer is Denied with B,Can i continue work with employer A(Employer A doesn't know that i worked with B)? Can i do C2C with Employer B through Employer A.

Now, can I file another LCA with same employer B or should file with new employer C? Haven't received the denial reason yet.

What are the possible options available for me to stay in US? Will it affect to GC processing?

FYI- I have a project with client thru B till end of the another three years.

Please share your valuable feedback.
