221G Issued - Client Response
Hi All,

Here is my timeline for Delhi
1. 14th Dec - Dropbox
2. 28th Dec - Passport returned with request for interview
3. 2nd Jan - Interview Date and issued 221g with passport returned
4. 15th Jan - Submitted Docs (Client letter, Company Financials, Pay Stubs, Taxes etc)

The embassy didnt reach out to my client till last week so 1st week in Mar. The client waited for me to join till mid feb and then got another person from my company to join. So the client responded to the embassy that the role was filled.

Basically they said they dont need me. My company has tons of work for me to come back to and now they are trying to decide what to do. They said more than likely my visa will be rejected.

Has anyone had a similar experience or know of someone who did? Can you please share?

i94 expired, i797 valid
Hello,
I have a query regarding expired my i94. I have tried to explain my current scenario, kindly guide me.

Last year I visited India in February 2017. I had a valid passport which was expiring February 26, 2018 and my visa stamp was expiring in August 2017. But in May 2015 , my H1b visa was amended due to change in position, and I got new i797 with end date May 15, 2018.
I was about to file for an H1 visa extension, but it seems my i94 got expired on February 26,2018. My lawyer asked to visit POE in Newark airport, but they officials asked me to take an appointment.
When I called a number to schedule an appointment, the representative said that they cannot change the “admit till” date from February 26,2018 to May 15,2018 as my passport got expired, and did not let me schedule an appointment in person.
I informed the representative that I do have my new passport which was renewed this January. But she refused to accept my new passport, as I had used the old passport during my last visit to India.

When I informed my lawyer about this situation, she asked me not to work from today, as my i94 has expired. My employer is filing a new straight H1B visa ( not H1B extension) next week through premium processing , and they have currently terminated me from my current position.
Lawyer asked me to wait until I get my H1B approval notice which would be around 1st week of April, and then arrange an visa interview in India. It seems I can only work after I get my visa stamping and new i94.

a) Can someone kindly share your ideas regarding this situation. What shall I do?
b) Has anyone been through this situation?
c) has anyone taken visa interview date recently, so that I can know the available dates?

Eligible for Dropbox- Appearing at Chennai Consulate
I’m currently working for EVC model. Now, I’m eligible for Dropbox and planning to drop all required documents at Chennai VFC Center. I have valid I-797A with I-94 upto 2020. Also, have end client letter, SOW, Employment Letter, Annual Reports..etc . My position is on full time basis with annual salary. Do we know what are the reasons for 221(g)?

I was trying to be more cautious with the all documentation that might be required. Already, my spouse appeared for H4 independently in Dec 2017 and got her H4 visa stamped without any issues.

Are we seeing most 221(g)s after Feb 2018?

221(g) Blue & passport returned
Hi Friends, Admin,
When VO issues 221(g), Whats the logic /idea behind VO keeping passport for some people and returned the passport for some people.

Is this the indication on faster VISA processing for passports that VO keeping it and long processing time for other case ?

H1B Interview
Background:
First time h1b stamping, f1 to h1, PhD, post doc experience, work for a company directly.

OFC Date: Mar 11th
Interview Date: Mar 12th

Interview Questions:

1. Do you work for XYZ company?

2. what is your salary?

3. where are you located in USA?

4. what is your highest degree?

5. What are your duties?

6. do you work for a client or directly?

Visa issued. No document was asked. VO had all data.

When asked if he wanted to see the approval document, he said no, I have everything I need here. Thank you.

Checked status today (last updated mar13th). Visa is issued and in final processing stage. Waiting for passport.

I was told by others if you have a phd then for sure there will be an inquiry and your visa will be issued only after administrative processing.

Hope this is helpful for others. Good luck!!

F1 to H1. Administrative Processing. 221g White Slip. Hyderabad
March 11th OFC
March 12th Visa Interview (Hyderabad)

Backstory: I lost my passport in July 2017 and this was the passport my H1b was approved upon. I was expecting some sort of delays because of this. Everything else in my profile is straightforward as I am working as full-time for the petitioner in my area of study.

VO: So you lost your passport?
Me: Yes

VO: When was this?
Me: XX 2017

VO: What is your highest qualification?
Me: Masters in mechanical engineering

VO: What is your job title?
Me: Manufacturing engineer

VO: Which company?
Me: XX

VO: Do you work directly or for a client?
Me: Direct

VO: What is your highest qualification? (Asked this again)
Me: (same answer)

VO: What is your salary?
Me: xx

VO: Where do you work?
Me: XX

VO: Do you use CAD in your work?
Me: Yes

VO: Your visa will require additional administrative processing. You will receive an email from me today about the documents required. Send those documents and wait for the reply. (Returned my passport along with a 221g white slip marked administrative processing)

CEAC tracking says "Administrative processing" with March 12th as updated case date.

Received an email from consulate on the same day requesting just my resume and employment verification letter along with a generic questionnaire. Replied back the same day. Got an acknowledgement that they were received.

I was expecting delays because of my lost passport but instead of requesting scans of the police report or the old passport, they asked for my resume.

Not sure how long this will take but I wanted to share my experience with everyone on this forum.

Is Client details need for visa interview?
Hi All,

My H1b visa interview has been scheduled on next week. I have seem many threads, most of the VO's asking about the client details. This is my first visa interview (fresh). But I am not going to work with any client. Currently working in Offshore place. The petitioner(Employer) needs my contribution in the onshore for product enhancement. Is this valid answer for them? How could I expose my self for this question?

Please suggest me.
