F1 - H1B Stamping
OFC - 20th Dec
Interview - 21st Dec
CEAC - AP (Last update as of 1/3, no update since)

Interview was simple. Less than 2 mins. VO approved the case with. No 221G was given and the case has been in AP since. Administrative Processing has turned out to be a black hole of a process with no estimated timelines. Hopefully everyone stuck in AP gets resolved soon. Please share your experiences. Will keep updated about my case.

H1B Visa Stamping
Hi All - I am planning to visit India in last week Jan and I have to get my VISA stamped. I have got the interview dates as well. But reading all experiences below, I am not sure whether I should go forward with my travel or not. Is there any common thing seen for all "Admin Processing" cases? Why cases are going to AP and how much time it takes in general before VISA is issued?

Any thoughts are appreciated!!!

F1->H4 221g Admin Processing
My wife is facing delays in getting her H4 stamp from
F1 (she originally had H4 from which she went to F1 in 2015).

I had H1B renewal (same firm, dropbox eligible) and my wife had change of status from F1 to H4.

We went to Visa Application Center at Nehru Place on Dec 20th 2017. I submittted my documents on dropbox wimdow and my wife had to get her Biometrics and fingerprinting done.

She went for her interview the next day on Dec 21st to the New Delhi Consulate.

The VO asked straight forward questions about which university she go to on F1? did she use OPT? What was my salary? Where did we live in the US? Then the VO asked for my I-797 approval which she provided and then she asked for my current H1B stamp for which my wife that I had submitted it for renewal yesterday at Nehru Place. The VO said it is odd that both of us didnt come together. Then she told my wife that they will have to do some administrative processing and it will take some weeks before the visa will be approved. She gave my wife 221g yellow slip with the case number.

I receieved my H1B approval on Dec 26th and passport on Dec 29th but wife case is still on “Administrative Processing” since Dec 21st. Finally today the case got updated but the status is the same “Administrative Processing”. Our flight is on Dec 6th and we are concerned we might not receive my wife visa and passport on time.

Is anybody facing the same issue with 221g on F1->H4 change. Is it because my wife didnt have my latest visa stamp with her?

Thanks for all your experiences.
