I got my H1B last year (June 2016) based on bachelors degree while I was in the last semester of my masters. I completed my master and joined the company I am direct hire (full-time employee) working for the same company since July 2016. I changed work location in August 2017 within the same state because of new project. However, my company applied for H1B amendment for work location change and it was approved in Octiver 2017 by USCIS. I came to India in the first week of December 2017 for H1B stamping and here is my experience.

Case Status: "Administrative Processing" until today (25 December 2017)
Visa Interview Questions: Petitioner? Date of graduation? Date of joining? HIghest qualification? Salary? Work Location? Job responsibilities? When did your H1B start? Did you work on OPT?
I answered all the questions and VO said: "VISA IS APPROVED". She kept my passport and said you'll receive the passport in 4-5 days. I have been waiting since then.
I emailed 'support- [email protected]' and got a reply to wait until processing is completed.

Thanks All for sharing the experience, have been following this forum for past few days. Heard about visa stamping delay and admin processing issues.
This is our experience from recent VISA stamping from US Embassy Mumbai, H1B renewal with approved 140 (same direct employer for past 7 years) + H4 (renewal).

Picked up passport today!
So process was seamless, delays seem to be random. Not everybody is delayed. Heard at consultant of people getting PP back on 12/21 from previous days interview. So hope this helps.

Friends, I ‘m waiting since Nov 30 for any update. My interview was on Nov 30, first H1 stamping, F1-H1 !! Anyone in similar situation??

P.S. Same employer cases: If you are with the same employer as your last Visa Stamping and if there is no technical issue on their side verifying your finger prints or bio, you will get your passport back in 2 weeks ( or 10 business days). If they had to verify you, they would call you for finger prints or interview within 3-4 business days of your document submission and give you an appointment date to come to the consulate.

H1B extension - HYD consulate
Hey guys, I had my interview on Dec 6th. On 6th case updated to AP and has changed to issued on 14th December.
Don't get panic when you see the AP on the case right away. I think the processing time to print the visa on your passport and send it to pick up location shares the same name as actual AP.

Dropbox H1b passport returned without stamp & got 221g bluish slip with nothing checked.
I submitted my docs for H1b stamping ( my second time ) through Pune Dropbox on 18th December.
Yesterday, I got back my passport without stamp & a bluish green 221g form with nothing checked on it. So I don't even know whether to schedule a new appointment or to walk in directly or what exactly to do.
Now since there's holidays till 25th , I can only call the consulate on 26th but in the meantime it'd be great if someone can tell me if they faced similar issue & what did they do and what was the outcome and how long did it take ?
This is very worrisome. Dint even expect this as I have been working in US for the past 7 years and have clear paperwork and do not work for any client etc. Its a direct fulltime job.
Would be great to hear back from you guys.

Has been in Administrative Processing since then.

H4 visa approved but says Admin process

I have attended my H4 dependent visa interview on NOV 30th VO said visa is approved no 221g is given but till date the status shows Admin processing . I mailed them couple of times but the response from them is "Your visa is under process". I attended my interview before my husband's visa got approved ( his passport got issued on DEC 7th and collected on DEC 9th ).
My student visa application is cancelled 2 years ago at the USA port of entry due the bad accreditation from the university but in my H4 visa interview VO was not even concerned about that.
I am bit a worried now it's already been 21 days and the status is not changing . Not sure what factors might cause so much delay.
