I did drop box in chennai on 8th of Dec. H1B + H4 extension stamping.
My visa status timelines
Dec 8 : Dropped passport and docs in chennai
Dec 11: Case created
Dec 12: changed to AP
Still my visa status hasn't changed from AP. But my passport tracking says "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery". I also logged into my cgi federal profile and saw similar updates. Besides, I got Bluedart notification with the tracking number to the registered phone number. Looks like bluedart received the package on 20th (6 pm) and is scheduled to be delivered by 23rd in Trichy.
I was checking only my visa status from time to time and hadn't checked my passport status only. Would advice folks to check both from time to time.
So, as far as timeline goes, on 12th of dec, status changed to AP and by 20th evening, passport was received by bluedart for delivery which makes it 6 business days.

if they ask our salary do we need to tell our salary that is on our i129 or do we need to say the actual amount we are getting or as of now trump has changed for it be minmum of 100k. am confused what to say for this. please help.

Do NOT choose dropbox
Hi friends,
From my experience and my friends experience , I have learnt that never do drop box .99 out of 100 cases you still need to go for an interview and finger prints. if you have ample of time and if you dont care how long it takes, you can opt for it. but if you want your process to speed up and get your visa asap, you better choose dierct interview.

H1b Dropbox. Application received since 4 weeks
I submitted my H1b docs to Chennai consulate (Drop Box) on Nov 24. My visa status shows " application received" since ~4 weeks and No status on submitted passport number, when I track the passport. Has anyone experienced the same? How long did it take in your case ?

Good Morning greetings exchanged, she is very simple .
Handed over my passport to VO.
Questions started by
1. Do you have a client or you direct hire?
2. What's your highest degree of education?
3. What is your salary per annum?
4. Where do you live in USA?
Visa officer says VISA is approved , i didn't ask her when can i collect my passport, neither she said when can i pick up. I walked my way out happily. The person ahead of me had his visa issued and the officer said to expect passport in 1-2 weeks. So, i was confused after i came outside.
Was checking updates on usatraveldocs, as my visa was on friday ( case created to admin processing on same day).
On 1tth december, case status changed to Issued, and on 12th december , my status says ready for pick up. I picked up my passport on 13th.
I read so many threads and prepared myself before the interview, it helps alot. I see lot of cases with admin processing and 221(g) slips, those are real. And even drop box cases are called for finger prints and interview. So, fellas be aware and prep yourself. Good luck!!!

H1B dropbox renewal in AP since Nov end (Mumbai consulate)
I used dropbox for H1B stamping in mid Nov (4th year and same company as prev stamp, fortune 500 company and direct hire)
They gave me a 221g only for fingerprint
Here is my timeline
30th Nov - Provided Fingerprint
30th Nov - Admin processing
15th Dec - Last update date changed, but still admin processing
Its 20th Dec today. They havent contacted back asking for any paperwork or interview. This seems very unusual. I know a few people who went with /after me who have gotten their passport stamped sooner.
Tried emailing ustraveldocs and usual advice to wait.
What are the alternatives I can do in the mean time?
Is it possible to attend interview if docs are submitted via dropbox?
If my lawyer/employer emails them instead of me, does that hold more weight?
Any advice is appreciated

H1 Visa experience at Kolkata Embassy
I went along with my wife and daughter for status update from L1A to H1B
OFC: 12/05
Interview date: 12/06
Visa was approved. No slip or passport were handed back
Wife and Daughter received their stamped passports. Mine is still (12/20) in administrative processing. Apparently some site says "No information available", some says "Still with US Embassy"...
As I am guessing, it's happening mostly with folks who have been interviewed at different consultancy in the past. The technical glitch is not able to pull data from different locations.
I hope everybody get their passports soon.

USTraveldocs website shows passport still with US Consulate. It has been 10 calendar days today and I have written to [email protected] today to request for expediting my case. Hope to get it this week before the Consulate closes for Xmas.
Anyone else with similar experience who went through dropbox filling around the same time?

He handed me a blue slip 221g.
