H1B, H4 Visa

Documents submitted on 13 Dec 2017 @ Hyderabad Consulate
Case created and last updated on 14 Dec since then it shows Administrative Processing.

No call for finger prints or interview

I am a direct hire and my paper work is pretty clear. I am worried. it been 14 calendar days and 9 business days. No idea what to do. Any suggestions are highly appreciated

Location: Hyderabad
OFC: November 28, 2017
CONSULAR APPOINTMENT: December 21, 2017

Me and Wife attended the interview, As my kids are small i've been informed that kids are not necessary for the consular interview.

VO asked some basic questions

Me: Good morning officer
VO: Good morning, How are you?
Me: Good, Thank you.
VO: Good
VO: Who are you currently working?
VO: How long you have been working there?
VO: What is your current Salary?
VO: Who is US employer?
VO: What is your US salary?
VO: Can I see LCA?
Me: Handed over LCA
VO: Took almost 1 min and reviewed all pages. Then asked how long you have be working for US company?
Me: New hire
VO: Almost took 2 mins to verify something on his machine then asked what is your designation?
Me: Software Engineer
VO: Who is your client?
VO: After 30-40 seconds – What is your highest qualification?
Me: Bachelors of Technology with Computer Science background
VO: Took the white slip and ticked last option and said need some administration process.
Me: How long that might take?
VO: It will take time, He retained all 4 passports and gave me the slip

On 23rd Dec, 2017:
I've checked the Passport status - Passport is with US Embass.
Case Status: Adminstrative Process

On Dec 26th received call from Hyderabad consular office and she asked following questions

Officer - How you know Computech and how you got this opportunity?
Officer – What is the project?
Officer – Will you be working on any other projects?
Officer – What is the team size?
Officer – Have you visited their office before to attend interview?
Me: No – Interview was done over Skype - 2 technical and 1 HR over telephone.
Officer – Have you visited their office before?
Me – No madam.
Officer – Which location you will be working?
Officer – Do you have any client letter that states you are working on that project for them?
Me – No madam. I don’t have direct letter, But I have document that states client has awarded project . Our Attorney already submitted that document as response to RFE.
Officer – Are there any vendors in between Company and Client?
Me – No madam.
Officer – I’ve you ever spoke to client?
Me – No madam, I’ve had any direct communication with client so far.
Officer – Can you send the master sign agreement between client and company?
Me – Sure madam will do, Only MSA correct?

So fare i've submitted MSA yet, As i'm waiting for my employer.

Mean while on Dec 27, 2017 - I've received emails stating that

The passport number being returned is - YYYY XX

You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location:

When i checked passport status it now says - There is no status update available for the passport number submitted

And Case status is still in administrative process.

Any idea what's going on?

I had dropped my documents in bangalore on december 14th(chennai consulate)
My case was created on 15th dec
It was updated to AP on 19th dec
its still showing as AP, I havent recieved any 221 g yet, my passport status shows as still with US embassy.

Would like to know if anyone else had same experience.

Case last updated - nov 24 / dec 20 / dec 26/dec 27
But still in AP

Went to hyd consulate .

Anyone have any idea what's going on in my case ?

Bio Metric completed on 11th December 2017.

visa interview:12 th Dec 2017

Case created :11th dec 2017 and last updated :12th Dec 2017
VO didn't ask any questions and said Visa is approved ,to collect passport within 5-7 business days.

Status on CEAC website still shows AP since 12th Dec 2017 till today (27th Dec)and we have no clues as to when we will receive the passport.

Would like to know if anybody else has had the same experience at Mumbai consulate.

       Kindly comment if below means approval and what could be the ETA to receive passport.

Nov 7th - Drop box at Hyderabad for H1-B extension.

Nov 9th - Stamping at Hyderabad, got 221g , pink slip with Passport. Status says Administrative Processing in Progress.

Nov 22nd - Client received Audit email from Consulate and client confirmed my Employment with in a day.

Dec 18th - Got an email from Consulate to submit passport, no other documents were asked to submit. Neither it was mentioned as Approved in email nor online status changed from AP. Case Last Updated date changed to Nov 9th from Dec 18th.

Dec 19th – Submitted my Passport.

Dec 20th – Case Last Updated date changed again. No change in status, still in AP.

I had submitted all the dropbox documents at VFS Bangalore on 4th December 2017
My case was created on 6th December
First status date Update was on 8th December to AP

Second date Update was on 21st December but shows AP.
I have not been notified about 221g. My case only displays as still in AP.

H1 and H4 extension was filed with Consular processing and hence had to get new visa stamp to effectuate my case.

I am a fulltime employee of the company and here are my timelines.

12/12 - Application submitted to VFS
12/13 - Case was created
12/13 - Case last updated
12/16 - Administrative Processing
12/22 - Issued
12/23 - Received Passport (with new Visa stamp)

Earlier this year I had to come visit India for a family function and my visa had expired last year September and 797 was expiring in July this year. Dropbox was done and got my passport back within in 5 business days. Note that even though I had only 3 months left, Visa was done in Dropbox without any hassle (and no issues at all at the Port of Entry in US)

This time I was thinking I might be called upon for Interview but since Dropbox was still valid option for me, I did opt for Dropbox and got my Visa stamps without any further requests.

A big shout out and cheers to VFS Ahmedabad team as I always make mistakes in DS160 and they did point out my silly mistakes and very very decent with their responses. I am sure it is a busy season for Mumbai Consulate with lots of holidays so very happy with the way I got my passport with visa stamp back as I was thinking it will be only 1st or 2nd week of Jan '18 given other folks cases here.

I believe sometimes we don't exactly understand the proper request and get nervous for no reason.

I attended h1b interview at delhi consulate on Dec 7th, vo said visa is approved and no letter/document(221) was given to me. My case status is under administrative processing since Dec 7 and there is no update. Anyone else in a similar situation?
