Can I apply for H4 visa when I have a approved H1B petition?
Hi,
My H1B petition got picked 2016 lottery and was approved, but my employer is yet to give me the documents required for stamping. He suggested that it may be delayed further.
My wife is currently working in the US on a valid H1 visa.
While my H1 petition was still under process, I got B2 visa and visited the US twice to visit my wife.
I am planning to go for a H4 visa (as her beneficiary) and travel to the US and wait till my employer gives me I-797.
Does going for a H4 visa in anyway affect my already approved H1B petition?
I am open to visit India for H1 stamping.
In a lot of confusion, please help.

My spouse and I have our visa interview on February 7th in Chennai and we are tensed due to the ongoing developments regarding the H1 visa. My spouse works for a reputed American company for the past six years as a Manager and I have my EAD and I work as well. We have all the documents ready. Hearing a lot of rejects and issuance of 221G. We are scared and tensed. Any advice or personal experience regarding this would be helpful. I will also share my experience once the interview is over.

I have attended the interview for H1B visa on Oct 8 2015. I have received blue slip with additional administrative processing required. Till today I have not received any mail from embassy. My Petitioner and client has been verified and in CEAC tracker only date has been updated, this is on Sep 8 2016. What is the next step that I can take. Can I really have hope on this.

Hello ,
I have been following this forum from a long time and its finally my time to post my experience.
Interview:02/01/2017 @Hyderabad
The VO said that my visa was approved and kept the passport but she handed over a white 221(g) slip saying that she needed to do some administrative processing and would take around 1-2 weeks .She also said that no documents were needed .
Questions asked
who is your employer?
who is your end client?
where do you live?
what is your highest degree ?
where did you do your degree ?
when did you start your opt?
when did you end your opt?
what is your salary ?
if anyone is in the same situation or faced the situation before please do send me a email at [email protected] or comment in here.

H1B Vsa Interview scheduled on Feb-8 10:30 am in hyd
I work for a reputed tech company in Silicon Valley as a full time employee(staff engineer) from last 5 years.
we are planning to visit india with family , travelling on Feb-2. Visa interview is scheduled on Feb-8 10:30 am.
Lots of news around H1B visa with EO and increased rate of 221g forms issuance, still in dilemma whether to travel with this uncertainties.

Hi,
I'm planning to have vaction next month and scheduled H1B stamping in early Feb. Can anyone please share recent experience. Most of the posts I see are with having issues but minimum success posts. Can you also please share success so that it helps others.
My case: Completed masters in 2011. Got First H1B in 2013 and then joined FTE in March'2015 with H1B transfer. Currently with same employer since 2 years.
Can anyone please share recent experiences in Hyderabad.

Is there any limit on minimum visa validity reqd to enter US

I am travelling to India in May and returning back to US on month end.
My current H1b Visa is valid till 15th August, 2017.
Is it okay for me to travel as I'll be having only 2-1/2 months visa left after I return.
Or will there be any problems at immigration.

My H1B visa stamping was done at Chennai Consulate. Was previously holding F1. Working directly for an US based company.
Current Status: Administrative processing
Biometric: 13 Jan
Case creation Date: 23 Jan
VI Date: 24 Jan (VO said we are approving your visa)
Status Updated Date: 27 Jan
My departure is on Feb 8th
Should I just wait for the status to get updated to issued or contact them via email/phone?
Will contacting them expedite the process?
