H1b Visa interview Question
Hi,

I have visa interview in the first week of Feb 2017. I am working for ABC company in US in IT field, but I did my masters and bachelors in electrical engineering. I shifted to IT since I am getting better opportunities. Will it be a problem during visa interview if I my education is not related to my work? And in this case what would be the best answer for the question "How do you relate your work experience with your education?" Can anyone please suggest on this. Thanks.

Please help..H4 to H1 transfer
I traveled to US on H4 visa and stayed there for 4 months. During my stay in US we applied for H1B (it was Change Of Status application and applied in March 2016) but due to personal emergency I need to travel again to India in June 2016. Now my H1B application is approved but I am facing few issues for H1b stamping which are listed below:

1. Do I travel back to US on H4 and again apply for COS H4 to H1 via my employer. i think it is a slow process or
2. Shall i go for H1b visa stamping in India and travel on H1b to US. I already have a job offer to join by 1 march 2017.
3. If I go for visa stamping in India, do chances of rejection are more as I have not continued my COS. what kind of questions can be asked while interview specific to my case.

Please help me with the feasible option. I am really left with very less time.

Thanks..

H1B extension interview in Chennai
I agree with many readers here staying to the point is key. Stick to what is written on your LCA /petitions etc. Just thought I will write down here my questions so it will be useful to someone else.

I was asked the usual questions. I work in a biotech so the last time I came for stamping it took me 3-4 weeks in admin. processing. This time it was much easy.

Biometrics: Jan. 18, 2017
Visa interview: Jan. 19, 2017
Consulate: Chennai

Questions:

1. What company do you work for?
2. What is your highest level of education?
3. Which city are you going to?
4. Which college did you attend in the US?
5. What is your designation?
6. Explain your responsibilities?

And then she said "I am issuing your visa". I asked her what timeline should I expect to collect my passport. She said 4-5 days.

The CEAC website says "Administrative Processing". I am kind of worried because of that especially after seeing one person in this forum get their passport stamped in the same day.

Status:
Case creation: Jan. 18th, 2017
Case update: Jan. 19th, 2017 (Administrative Processing)

...will make updates here as and when I know...

H1B & H4 Experience Mumbai
Hi Everyone,

this was the really different experience for me while appearing for H1B Stamping in Mumbai. On Day 1 it was a biomatric, and as usual, I appeared there one hour before to be at safer side and to avoid last minute hurry.
I feel i could have reached there 30 min before :).
The only documents need to carry in biomatric is:
1. Passport
2. Appointment later
3. DS-160 confirmation page.

nothing else need to carry. it took 5 mins for me to finish this biomatric.

the second and importand day is stamping /pai. Here my appointment was schedule at 10 AM in the morning, and I reached there by 9 AM in the morning.
Security guards manages queues slot wise, My Queue they started @9:30 AM.and at 10 I was there in Embassy premises. Inside again figure impression was verified to validate the candidate
and you are pushed to PAI queues. It was 11:15 when i was called for interview with my wife.
Consulate ask for passport of both of us and I-797B. US Consulate are very polite and show respect to you and your dependents.
It was a wonderful experience to have talk with them.
Consulate asked me below questions:
1.Location
2.Salary
3.Employer
4.experience with employer

and after this consulate asked few questions to my spouse :
1. wedding date
2. are you working
3. domain

after this she returned my I797B form and inform me to collect passport from delivery center.

I reached my home at 1PM. within 2 hours I got a mail to collect my passport from delivery center. It was a surprise for me. within two hour my Visa was issued and stamped in passport.

Hello All,

Today i attended for H1b visa interview.. Interview went like this:
Me,my wife & 5 years daughter attended for the interview.
In 2007 MY H1b visa was rejected.

questions & answers

VO to my wife : when did u got married?

VO to my wife : How many childrens u have?

VO to my wife : Is it love marriage or Arrange marriage

VO to me : By seeing into computer, i see ur H1b was rejected last time why?
Answer : I told that my visa was rejected under 221g because my previous employer was not able to provide me job as
per US guidelines

VO to me : is it the same petitioner or different?
Answer : This is different petitioner

VO to me : whats your highest qualification?
Answer : master in computer application

VO to me : how much this new petitioner offering you?
Answer : xxxx dollars P.A

VO then checked something in computer for 3-4 minutes and went inside, came back and gave me 221g white slip stating your application requires
administrative processing. she gave our passport back and told it will take more time for administrative processing hence she is giving our passport back incase if it requires for us to travel.

she didnt check anything even I797 or LCA or I129...

Anybody having similar kind of experience. Please mail me at [email protected]

Me: I will be working with the employer.

VO: oho in-house project!

 VO:cTotal no: of employees?
Me: Answered.

VO: How many persons working on this project?
Me: Answered.

VO: Spell the project name.
Me: Answered.

VO: Please share all petitioner company documents.
Me: Give.

VO gone through all the documents for around 5 minutes. He started typing for 3 minutes.

And finally issued 221(g) blue slip with "Additional administrative Processing' highlighted.

E3 visa experience in Chennai
I went for USvisa stamping for my E3 renewal with I-797 petition in Chennai India.

Visa interview experience:
OFC appointment 30/12/16 at 11:00 AM
Interview Time 3/1/17 at 09:30 AM
Joined the line at 08:45 AM.

Went to Window 15 Indian Lady is sitting and asked for both passports(wife and mine). Then she looked suspiciosly and asked for LCA and I-797. While looking at computer and documents she made a Red tick mark on passport askedus to wait in the lobby..

After 20 minutes got called to same window handed over all documents and asked us to give Finger prints in Window 18. Gave FP and joined the second line for actual Interview.

while joining the line for consulate officer, one of the lobby Assistant came and checked our passports and said you have a red tick on the passport, please go back to Window 15 and get a Green Tick mark before join this line. So we went back to Window 15 and asked same indian lady to put green tick mark. She took my LCA and I-797 again and reluctantly put a green Tick markon the passports.

FInally joined the Visa interview line, it took 40 mins and went to window 25.

VO: who is your petitioner and what is your relationship to him.
Me: YYYY is my employer working as consulatant for client YYYY in (location).

Vo has given us yellow slip asked us to wait in lobby.

Waited for 1 hour and got called to same window

VO: what are your roles and responsibilities ?
Me: Gave answer

VO:When are you planning to leave USA ?
Me: NOV 2017

VO:What will you do after Nov 2017 ?
Me: will go back to Australia

VO:what is your current designation ?
Me: YYYY YYYY X

VO:What are you doing here in India ?
Me came to visit family

VO:how long have you been married
wife: YYYY years

asked to wait in the lobby again and made us wait in lobby for whole day and finally a different VO came and gave passports back along with a blue slip for 221(g) admin processing.

It has been 15 days and didnt get any update on the status yet. Now i have secured another job offer in USA and would like to withdraw this application and re-apply for a new E3 visa under new employer.

Can anyone help with the process on how to withdraw an application while it is under 221(g) admin processing ?

Do not have client letter
Hello I am working for end client and my end client doesnt issue client letter stating that I am not working for them directly and have no association between them and my employer and should ask my vendor for such letters. Also my LCA states lower salary than what I actually earn. What should I mention in DS 160? I am planning to travel on last week of January and have H1 visa interview on 1st February. Will this be a problem?

Thank You
