passport status is in Admin Process
I went for the visa interview on 28/09/2015.
After interview the Visa officer told that my visa has been approved and i can collect my passport in 2,3 working days.

I was NOT given or asked for any kind of documents/slips.(NO 221(g) LETTER.)

When I was tracking my passport for first 3 week it was showing that "Passport is under admin process" but now it is showing There is not status available.
Please advice if anyone face same/similar issue.

H1B Interview@Chennai
I had my H1B interview today(10/27/2015) at Chennai Consulate.

My appointment is scheduled @ 11.30 AM. I have reached @ 9.30. Then, I came to know that, queue is based on" first come first serve". Came out from the US consulate @ 10.20 itself.

After going through several counters, finally reached the interview hall.

Questions:

1. Passport please?
2. I797B Original?
3. who is your client?
4. salary? It will be mentioned in I129
5. you will be working in client office or petitioner's office?

Then, she started typing for 2-3 minutes. Then she said "Visa is approved" and handed me the US right pamphlet.

As far as I seen, if your petitioner and client is well known, you are very much safe. You will not be having any type of project, client related questions.

In case, if your client/petitioner is not well known, better prepare 2 minute speech separately about client, petitioner, project, roles and responsibilities.

Thank you very much for immihelp community. This forum helps me to prepare well.

Please let me know if you have questions. I will try to help you about.

Hyd Stamping Oct 19th&20th
Hello All… Here is my stamping experience. (Bit lengthy write-up)
Location: Hyderabad – 19th and 20th Oct 2015
Background: B.Sc (MPC) with 9+ IT & BPO experience (all with one MNC). Was very tensed since I heard some cases of rejections for candidates with 15 year education.

19th Oct: OFC, nothing to talk about this. Very simple process. No need of formals. You can reach 45 min before your schedule. They will allow inside and the formalities will be done within 15 min.
20th Oct: Now, this is what I was waiting for. Appointment was at 10:30. Reached the Consulate by 9 AM. Entered the main gate after showing passports by 9:15 AM. I have read people saying not to reach 15 min prior the appointment. However, out of my experience I can say its OK to reach 1 hour prior as well. Once we (myself and my spouse) entered inside there was a seating place where we had to wait for 20 min. After security scan, we were let inside and were asked to sit in a corridor. Later was in a queue to have finger prints verified. Once done, we were asked to wait in the Waiting Area for them to call. It was after about 15 min, we were asked to stand in another queue. On your turn they gave a token (something like placard with counter number). Again we stood in that counter queue (!!!). But the officer in my counter was clearing off his queue very quick! Couple of F1 and B1 cases were asked more questions. But he seemed good (and young too!). Our turn came in couple of minutes and here is the conversation.

(The interview area is way different than what I thought it would be! Its like a counter at railways, have to stand and there is a glass separating you and officer with speakers outside. The passports were taken by an attendant just before my turn and the officer made a signal to come towards counter after scanning the passports.)

Me: Good Morning Officer. (After a split second pause) How are you doing?
Officer: Good Morning (The voice was very low, I did not hear him answering my question)
(I had to keep all my ears wide open as the voice was not audible at all, its very low!)

Officer: who is your employer?
Me: YYYY

Officer: What is your role?
Me: (I did not understand if he asked for onsite role or offshore role. For me both are same anyway)
Answered after a brief pause.

Officer: What is your qualification?
Me: Bachelors

Officer: What are the subjects sir?
Me:(woh! I did not expect this. May be as I just told Bachelors he asked this question. I was **** scared about the subjects)
Maths, Physics and Chemistry Sir.

Officer: (Turned towards my wife) Is he your husband?
My Wife: (I was bit surprised at this question. She too paused for a moment. We both did not expect this question!)
Yes Sir.

Officer: What is your marriage date?
My Wife: YYYY

Officer: Do you think he is a nice Guy! (well, at this moment I was sure its approved)
We: We both looked at each other with a smile. She said “Yes Sir, he is.”
I took over and added “Its a love marriage Sir (with a smile)”.
Officer: Oh that’s great! (with a hearty smile).
Then came the golden words.
“Your Visa is approved Sir. Have a nice day”.
We wished him back and got out of there.

We were shell shocked as it went pretty smooth. No documents asked. Not even Approval notice. Appointment was at 10:30. Interview done by 10:15! Interview lasted hardly 30 seconds.

Tips: Dress sharp. Be confident. Have a smile on your face all the time.
Do not try to overhear other conversations. They are of no use to you. BTW, you can carry a zipped document folder. I carried many documents, however was very lucky to have the interview done in seconds.
Checked the status once I came home, it was “Administrative Processing”.
Next day it changed to “Issued”.

Waiting for Passports now!

Note: If you are travelling by your own car, park it in a building behind the passport office. They charge you rs. 30 per hour. Its walkable distance to consulate. A parking near consulate will cost you 50 per hour. None will give you a Token/Slip.

H1b experinece at Delhi US Consulate 20th and 21st October
The success stories posted in this thread have really inspired me a lot and I am obliged to post my experience today.

Day 1--> 20th October --> AFC, Nehru Place, New Delhi

Our appointment was at 09:30 AM in the morning. We reached the AFC at 08:30 AM. The security asked us to join the queue 15 minutes before the appointment

schedule. So we had to wait for sometime. At 09:15 we joined the queue in which the Ds-160 confirmation and appointment letter were getting verified. The

official who was checking our forms drew a circle on my wife's name on the DS-160 confirmation. They told us that that only the Last name and first name

should be mentioned in the DS-160 and no alias names should be there. The reason we mentioned alias was because her passport had her name in that way. All

her previous visas to other countries also had the same name (along with alias), therefore I was confused and cross checked with another official. They

confirmed again that the name should be corrected in DS-160 for which we have to complete the Ds-160 nonce again. We rushed outside from the AFC looking

for a cyber cafe and luckily we found one in Nehru Place. In fact it wasn't a cyber cafe but some small office where a board was hanging which mentioned

that they help in filling Ds-160. Retrieved the old Ds-160 form and filled all the information in the new form. Within half an hour it was done and we were

back to the AFC.

After checking all the details we were allowed to go in. Inside the OFC one of the official was sticking the DS-160 bar codes on the passports. I gave him

all the three passports. He stick one sticker each to my mine and my son's passport and two(old and new ds160 bar codes) on my wife's passport.

Then two tokens were issued to me and my wife and we waited for our turn for the bio-metrics. As soon our tokens got displayed we went to the respective

counters and got our fingerprints and photographs done. Since my son is 4 years old, therefore no bio-metrics for him. After that we left the place.

DAY 2--> 21st October. --> US Consulate, New Delhi
The appointment was at 09:30 AM. We left for the embassy a bit early, parked my car in Bangla Sahib Gurudwara parking and had our prayers there. After that

we took an auto-rickshaw for for the embassy. the rickshaw driver charged 50 Rs. At around 08:45 we reached the US consulate.

Reaching there I found that people were queuing up for the 9:00 AM interview slot and we were asked to wait for the time being. The surrounding area if the

embassy was full of north Indian aspirants and I could see many Punjabis out there. I felt that I am back in Punjab. Most of the people there were going for

the B2 tourist Visas.

at 09:15 we were asked to queue up. We were not allowed to take any electronic media or any other thing except our documents inside the embassy. I was a bit

concerned as I had my car keys with me. I stepped forward and asked the guard if it is fine to keep the car keys with me. He said its fine so no problems

with that. There was a locked counter as well outside the embassy. You could get a locker for yourself at some nominal fee. Staff sitting outside were

checking the passports and Ds-160 confirmation. They checked mine and asked me to produce a copy of my I797B which was thne stapled along with my passport.

They were also giving the white rights pamphlets to the H1b aspirants and an another pamphlet to non H1b guys.

As we entered the embassy security checks were done and then we were made to sit in the outside area. After waiting for an another 20 minutes we were asked

to proceed to the interview area where again bio-metrics were done. Then we were asked to join the interview queue. It was a single queue having

approximately 50 people standing in-front of us. Since my kid was not comfortable standing, my wife and son were asked to sit down in the waiting are while I

was moving along with the queue.

It took approximately 30 minutes for our turn to come. In between I was looking around all the interviews going on. There were rejections all over. People

were leaving the counters with tears and disappointment on their faces. Probably those were tourist and B1 aspirants. I was getting a bit nervous due to

all of this. Any how I controlled my nerves and went to the counter that I was asked to.

Three of us reached the counter and the Visa officer greeted us nicely.

VO--> Good Morning. How are you doing today?
Me--> Good Morning mam. I am doing good. How about you?

VO --> I am good as well. May I have your passports please.
Have passed all the three passports to her.

VO --> So have you been to the US before?
ANS--> NO mam.

VO --> Ok. Is this your first H1b
ANS --> Yes

VO --> Who is employer.
ANS --> XYZ

VO --> Who is the end client
Ans --> ABC - Inc.

VO --> How much total IT experience do you have
ANS --> X years and Y months

VO --> What will be your annual salary in the US
ANS --> XYZ dollars ( I told the exact amount)

VO --> What is your highest degree ?
ANS --> XYZ in ABC field

The Visa office then turned towards my wife and asked her

VO --> What do you do mam?
ANS --> I am a housewife.

and then she looked at her computer and waited for sometime and said thats all I had to ask and said congratulations. I was overwhelmed and thanked her and

left the window. I got so much excited thta later I realized that though the visa office congratulated me, she never spoke that my visa has been approved

/any admin processing. Later I found the VISA status as ISSUED on the CEAC website.

PIMS issue - Dubai US consulate
Hi Friends,
I had my visa stamping interview for non-immigrant visa H1B at Dubai US consulate on 19 Oct 2015.
During the interview, I handed my I797A to VO. A few minutes later the VO told me that she was unable to find the petition in the system and says because of that my application could only be reviewed. I believe my petition was missing on the PIMS system.
After this conversation, she handed me a yellow slip saying that administrative processing would be needed on my application and assign case number.
Please advise me if some have.
