Experience of H-1B stamping
Hi users,
We're doing a great job of sharing everyone's H-1B stamping experience to the benefit of others. That's great.

For H-1B stamping experience let's add these options too.
1. If it's a first time stamping or not.
2. If it's extension from the same employer.
3. If it's extension from different employer.
4. full time employer or EVC or EVVC, etc.

These info will enhance the information and much useful for the people who're going for H-1B stamping.

Thanks,

Question about Visa waiver program
I have a question regarding if I need to go for visa interview or not.
I had got my last H1B stamping in May 2007 and thereafter I was in us so I definitely have to got for finger printing.
I have changed my employer in 2011.
but I read it somewhere that if the last stamping was after 2004 and if it is the same class and same city as last stamping then I do not need to go for visa interview?
But it also says if the last visa with same visa classification and same petitioner is still valid or has expired within the last 12 months then there is no visa interview needed.

so I am confused weather I have to go for interview or not.
plz comment.
I appreciate in advance.

H1B interview at Delhi Consulate
Hi,

L1 to H1 done in US with change of status and I am working for big MNC. I attended H1 interview at Delhi consulate. VO only asked 3 questions:

1. Company you are working for
2. who is client?
3. Salary

After this VO was looking into his computer for 5 minutes and then asked me for my place of birth and then again started checking something in his system and then said we need to review your case and it won't take more then a week.

No 221 and kept my passport.

any idea what kind of review they want to do in my case and why asked for place of birth and state of birth?

Regards

H1 @ Hyd consulate
Hi All,

Today my H1 is approved. I would have visited this forums hundreds of times for all the info. Thanks all for keeping this alive.

Background: B.E with 7+ yrs of exp. Going for inhouse work on the product. My petitioner is a small company with around 15 employees and no bad track record. I had Product description doc and tax returns in addition to all generic documents.

There were 3 persons before me -- (1 Family of 3 + 1 F1 + 1 H1). All are approved

VO: Good morning sir, handover your passport
Me: Good morning

VO: Who is your petitioner ?
Me: Answered

VO: Are you working for employer or end client ?
Me: Employer itself for their product

VO: Explain your roles and responsibilities
Me: Blah Blah in 2 sentences

VO: Who uses your products
Me: Answered in generic way

VO: Name specific clients using the products
Me: Answered as per I129 petition

VO: What is your highest qualification
Me: Bachelors in Engineering

VO: How much do you make
Me: xxxx$ per annum

VO: Have a good day Sir, Your visa is approved
Me: Thanks Mam

My observations
1. Since I went @ 10 AM slot, she seems in a hurry to send off everyone(because there were so many people before me and after me), if you answer the rapid fire questions correctly and confidently.
Early morning slots(8 AM) may be asked with proper questions. If you have solid documentation, go for morning slot, it will be 100%. Other slots are dependent on luck and confidence and documentation-optional.
2. She did not ask a single document except passport
3. I have read many experience who does not have PDD or does have PDD and still receiving 221g. I believe that happens for 3 reasons
   a. not answering confidently
   b. bad employer track record
   c. bad luck ofcourse
What I feel is, there are very few people writing here, in actual, there might be many guys whose visas are approved with or without PDD. So be confident and face it, you will be alright.
4. If you are looking for early dates for interview slots, do login @ 11 30 PM - 1 AM, you will find some slots as near as 5 days from the current date.

Thanks
Raj

H1B Visa Interview @ Hyderabad Counslate
Hi All,

I was as usual nervous when I attended the H1B Visa Interview today. I did not have Project description or Client Letter or any Project documentation with me. My Petitioner did not give me any Project documentation. Instead it was written in the Cover letter that I will be assigned to one of their Client projects in their Petitioner location. I was sure I was going to get 221(g) or denial. But anyhow I went out for the interview as mine was a valid H1B application and not a paid one.

So I went and as usual after the security checks and waiting.. It was my turn finally

Me: Good Morning Sir
VO: Good Morning. How are you doing ?
Me: I am doing great.

VO: Who is your Petitioner
Me: Answered

VO: What is your Qualification. ( I was not able hear this question properly)
Me: Answered (nervously)

VO: What is your Salary ?
Me: Answered

VO: Who is your client ? (I was praying that VO should not ask and Client or Project details)
Me: Its a In-house Employment (I did not know how I answered this. It just came out)

VO: The Golden words (Your Visa is approved Sir. Have a nice day)
Me: Thank you (and I left)

I did not expect to get my Visa approved. But I think you need to have Luck and also I think it depends on the Petitioner and the candidate Profile.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on my experience.

Wish you all the Best.

Hyd consulate - H1B- approved
Hi All,

This forum helped me in a great deal and thanks to all who shared their experiences

My advice is to book 8:00 AM slot and try to be the first in the queue. I was the first person in the queue and VO was in a very good mood and it is human tendency to start the day with a positive note. The same thing happened to me

VO : Good morning sir
me : GM

VO : please give your passport and I797
me : done

VO: employer name

VO : are you working for employer or client
me : answered

VO : What is your work
me : answered :

VO : salary per annum
me : answered

VO : are you married?
me : yes

VO : is your wife joining with you
me : not now

VO : looked at her system and asked whether I travelled to US before
me : yes

VO : on F1?
me : on L1

VO : with the same employer
me : answered

VO : asked me to give finger prints
me : done

Heard the golden words :)

Amendment Petition for H1b
Hello

I have an approved H1b petition from Client AAA and employer ZZZ. Currently, we do not have any onsite opportunities for Client AAA so I will be moved to Client BBB (different location) and will be travelling for this new client.

Heard that till last year in such cases a LCA re posting is enough for you to travel for different client whereas from this year it would require an Amended petition. And heard this process takes another 3-4 months.

However my question is if we apply for H1b amendment will our existing H1b petition will be Invalid? I mean if i apply for amendment petition to travel for Client BBB and in meantime(within that 3 months) if i get a call from Client AAA, Can i use my existing H1b petition and Travel to US?

Also is there any denial for amendment petition?

Regards
Shijin

Would be there any issue if port of entry is different location to the employer location?
This is my new employment, I'm travelling to USA on my H1b for the first the time. My Employer is located at Virginia but I'm getting down at Chicago as port of entry in USA to attend a personnel function and will be there for few days.

Now my question is Would be there any issue if port of entry is different location to the employer location?
