Location: Chennai
My Case:
The passport number on the appointment confirmation letter is not same as my new passport no.(Got my new passport after fixing the appointment using old passport no)
Dec 4th:
On entry at OFC office, they cross checked my passport details to the DS-160 form, since there was a mismatch they asked me to updated the DS-160 form in some browsing centre and come back soon.
Autowala waiting outside directed me to a place where a guy does this job. It’s not a browsing centre but he does this job alone charging 300/ per form. Since it’s my need and am running out of time paid him the amount he had asked and got my DS-160 form updated. Autowala asked 100 for to-and-fro bargained to 50/
Later went back to OFc and finished the job.
Dec 5th : The BIG day
After waiting in long Q for some time entered the consulate. They verified my passport and DS-160 form confirmation no and said "We cannot find your appointment in our system". Shocked.. Asked me to wait... after an hour of wait they called me back and said it’s because of change in DS-160 form, it’s not detecting the latest and will go with the old one... After giving again the biometrics I was placed in the final Q...
1) Who is your employer?
2) Aaaw your B1 was cancelled when applied for H1?
3) It’s a mistake from our side, a junior person might have made this mistake.A person can hold B1 and H1 together, since its valid till 2017 I can revoke your B1.Do you want me to revoke it?
4) Again ..Who is your employer?
5) How did you come to know about this company?
6) How big is your company?
7) Are you working for client?
8) What about your family?
then comes the golden words "Am approving your visa"...
I asked him back does he need any other docs... he just replied
No ...just go and book your flight ticket :).
Thanked him and left..
TIPS from my experience:
1) Keep sync the info between the DS-160 and passport. A minor change in name also caused problems.
2) Be confident.
3) For passport renewal in tatkaal process at passport seva kendra, carry 2 address proofs.

H1B Transfer Pending But Already Put Down Paper With Present Employer
Hello All,
I am working with employer "A" and doing H1B transfer with employer "B" in premium processing. I had put down my papers with employer "A" once I have received the receipt number.I would like to know what has to be done in case my transfer didn't get approved. Is there a chance, that I can transfer my Visa with some another employer even after my existing transfer denied and lost job in Company "A"? Or I should return back to home country next day my transfer denied (Out Of status). Any suggestions on this would be highly appreciated.

Reached india while h4 extension was in process and got my h4 extension approved now

Has been to US on 21st may 2014 with my husband on h4 and then came back to india on 27th aug 2014 alone while my h4 extension was filed and i m still in india. then my visa expired on 30th sept 2014 and few days back my husband told me that he and i got our h1b and h4 extension approved and wants to go back to US now.
Please help me with following question:-
1) do i need to fill ds-160 or some other form(please name them).
2) what are the documents required in original and in duplicate ?
3) is there any toll free number or any other number through which i can get help?

i have filled ds-160 form,but address where i will stay in us was not entered properly(it seems it was clipped by the system),now,
i am waiting for the appointment date,so will it create some problem,since full address detail is not present in ds 160,only street level address is present ,but city and state is missing.

Hey Guys today i got email stating that to submit my end client letter.....
Please let me know how many days in average will they take to respond me back....once i submit documents?
My employer already submitted my end client...letter..
I work at EVVC model ....
My prime vendor gave me a letter...as my end client wont!! its not their policy to give client letters....
Now how to convince these people from these trap....Please help....guys...

Date 18 nov: visa interview - vo gave 221g white an collected our passports, client letter, por doc, lca, etc
Date 3 dec: received mail to collected passports.
Date 4 dec: collected (no stamping on it) - ceac status is admin poroc.
Date 4 dec: got a mail from hyd admin "we can not process now as it is admin proc. As of now we do not require any docs.
Can you please tell me what could be the step and how much time it will take.

I am on h1 b visa and looking for job change. i got an offer from 2 employers. Employer A has already filed a petition and employer B is about to file my H1B petition. i have decided to go with emplyer B.
