Hi guys,

My profile. Master in EE(major in computers)

Arrest incident
Fight in club

Got charges dismissed and expunged

Luckily ran a background check at fbi a few months before my visa interview and found my record which should be removed isn't removed from fbi due to lack of communication between state and federal

Requested and followed up with state and fbi till they removed it

Coming to my Visa interview
Had vac and next day followed by interview on feb 5th

Vo asked me few questions on client name, role , sal

And then asked me about arrest incident (i mentioned it in my ds 160)
Asked me details on incident

They took the case reports arrest court records of dismissal and program information documents as well

Gave me a white slip said to wait outside and later said done with interview took my passport

2 days later got an email to pick up passport

Yellow slip with passport for medical evaluation (mine is not a dui incident its just a fight at a bar)

Had to wait a week for appointment and another week for results to be sent to embassy

After 2 days got a email to submit passport

H4 Visa got blue slip(221g) due to wedding photos for all rituals
Hi Everyone,

My wife appeared for H4 interview on 10th feb 2020. Consular asked for wedding proofs so my wife provided marriage certificate, invitation card and around 10 wedding photos which we took print out for interview purpose.
Whole wedding album was not available as marriage took place recently on 30th Jan 2020.

They gave blue slip(221g) asking for wedding photos showing all the rituals. They asked her to email the documents. We prepared a pdf with around 60 pics and emailed on same day along with marriage certificate on 10th feb 2020.

Till now there is no response from their side. I am confused what to do, where to check status, or whether documents sent by me was enough or not.
Can someone help if they have similar experience about how much time these kind of cases take as it is already more than 3 weeks.

Thanks in advance !!

H4 stamping experience
I was applying for H4 from India after previous H1 extension was denied in the US. Since my husband was already in the US, I attended the interview by myself. Appointment was booked at Chennai consulate and the overall experience was smooth.

Biometrics date : 2/24/2020
Interview date : 2/25/2020

Questions

1. Which location does your husband work and where do you stay in the US?
2. Can you provide your husband's visa copy?
3. When did you return from the US?
4. Did you have any encounters with the police or any criminal records during your stay in the US?

VO said I should be getting my passport in 3-5 days. No questions asked about H1 denial.

Passport was ready for pickup on 3/2.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Is anyone considering to reschedule appointments - Coronavirus?
I'm in a huge dilemma, I have my interview scheduled at Hyd consulate for March 10th.
I'm supposed to travel on the 5th.
I'm considering to reschedule appointments, given the corona virus situation; just in case if there could be travel ban from India, by end of March, which is when I was planning to come back to US.
I just spoke to the VP of our department and he suggested that I push my trip to at least three months.
Before I cancel my tickets and reschedule my appointment, I thought of checking here to see what everyone else is planning to do.
Please pour in your valuable opinions. Thanks !!

Advice for H1 and H4
Hi,
This is my first H1B interview and also looking for applying H4 visa for my husband and for my kid.
I have few queries and clarification on H4 visa.

1. My husband is currently working can i apply him H4 along with me if he is currently in job, will it affect getting my H1B visa if he is currently working.
2. If above (Question-1) is yes then do i need to first go for H1B stamping and later apply H4 visa for my husband and kid.
3. Do my husband required to resign or provide resgination letter later on incase if he goes for H4 visa interview individually.
4. We both previously attended L1B interview (2 years back) will this any way affect H1B visa processing.

As anybody has attended the interview with the same case, please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks

Fresh H1b @Chennai Consulate
28/02 - Biometrics: went without issue. i thought, it would have been crowded. But it finished within 5 mins.
02/03 - Interview: Slot at 11.30, was standing in queue from 11.00. sent inside by 11.20. after finishing security check, around 30 people of my slot were asked to sit in waiting area where you can refresh yourself.

Around 11.40, they sent us inside. waiting like 10 mins to get my fingerprint checked. Then moved to next line for my interview. it took almost 30 mins to reach the point where a guide will help you on which counter you need to attend. I had L1 & Tourist visa appliers before me.

Combined it took 20 mins for them to complete. Then VO asked to me come,

Me: Good Morning, hope you having nice morning
VO: Thanks. Please give Password
Me: Given passport
VO: Salary, Education Qualification, Location, Petitioner
Me: Answered all

VO: Visa approved. Will get your visa in 3-4 working days.

Thanks. This site helped me to get myself prepared for the interview.
