h1b visa successfully stamped
First of all a very big thanks to immihelp.com and all the user who shared their experieces. It really helped me a lot, so i am posting my experieces as well.
Jan 24 2014 OFC appointment at Hyderabad, it was supposed to be a cakewalk but i had a bitter experience
appointment time 8:30 AM reached by 8, I came to gowra grand on bike and there was no place to park for two wheelers i have spend 5 mins searching for it but couldnt find any so
i decided to park near a hotel but it was adjacent to main road and traffic police will definitely take it away, luckily i found a place beside Bluedart and DHL, its a paid parking.
By habit i carried my cellphone with me, security did not allow me inside, now i had to find a locker, there is locker facility in a tiffin center opposite to GE i deposited my cell phone there
and charge is 100 rs. Somehow i manager to enter the building by 8:20 and an employee there checked my ds160 confirmation page and there is mistake in my name, name should be as it is in your passport.
She entered my name in a register and told me i can return in another hour or so. We can get it corrected by a person sitting beside the queue but he charges too much, for one form 250, desperate i got it corrected and new confirmation number is generated
After verifying confirmation page they let me inside, i was greeted by one employee he asked if ds160 is modified, i said yeah, he pasted new confirmation barcode on back of passport.
After that finger prints were taken and photograph as well. SO PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY and no place for leniency. Better get DS160 reviewed by your petitioner before going for anything.

Jan 27 2014 h1b Visa interview was a cakewalk actually

appointment time 8:30 AM, they allow inside by 8:20 or so and we had to wait for sometime before receptionist attaches token number on the passport and we have to wait in lounge looking
at the monitor for our turn and we will be directed to some window where we are going to be interviewed.

VO: goodmorning
me: goodmorning
VO: passport please and I 797B
VO: wats the purpose of your travel to US?
me: employment at XYZ company as a temporary worker
VO: do you work at client location?
me: its a inhouse project i will work at employer location
VO: how many employees in the company?
me: XYZ
VO: Where will you stay?
me: in XYZ city
VO: btech or masters?
me: btech

Visa is approved.

PS: just because someone was getting grilled doesnt mean VO will grill you too. Students are at receiving end mostly, but a lady before me her case was complicated, her petitioner is XYZ and their partner is ABC and she has to work at ABC client DEF, even VOs head started spinning. VO has gone through all the documents and asked her nearly 20 questions, her visa got approved finally. Just be confident and do a lot of homework/research before going there.

H1 visa experience Chennai
Hi All,
Jan 21st biometrics at OFC:
Appointment was @12:30 PM but we(myself and my wife) went early thinking that we ll be allowed early but that was wrong .. we were allowed only at our appointment time.
Once entered our DS 160,appointment letter with MRV receipts were checked along with passport.
We were directed to first floor where the docs were again verified .Then security checks done and some bar codes were attached at the back of the passports. Then we entered another room where fingerprints were given.Thats it ..we are out..
Suggestions:if your appointments are in the first few slots of the day.. you can go early but later slots they allow only at the appointment time.
Jan 22nd biometrics at OFC:
Appointment is at 11:30..
we came by 10 15 am but we are allowed this time! .. security checks done..after that we entered the bio metrics verification then came the interview part..
the person before us was asked lot of questions and yellow slip was given to him ..but we maintained being cool..when we are about to move he asked as to wait as he had to get some clarifications on the previous applicant..
He came back and here's the interview part:

Greetings exchanged he asked excuse for waiting for him..
Who is your employer:
Answered
Who is your client
Answered
Who is the primary applicant
Answered
He gave the white pamphlet and said..
"Your visas are approved"..
Suggestion: Be cool and maintain a smile.. be confident on your answers..
All the best

H1B visa interview
Hello all,

First of all I really thank this site for sharing their experience. My interview is on
Jan 9th and 10th. Biometric was scheduled at 12pm on Jan 9th, I was staying at andheri east, from there it took
40 minutes to reach BKC in the peak time. Both biometric and mains are at different places, biometric is at trade centre.
I reached there before one hour which is not necessary, because they will call 15minutes prior. Biometric was easy and cool,
there you will be giving your fingerprints and photoclick. It's a 10min process.

Next mains on Jan 10th. Mine was scheduled at 7.45am, so I reached there before 15mins, there was a very long queue
and I joined in that queue. It took 15 mins to go inside, I was bit nervous when I am standing for my turn, because for the guy
infront of me, they asked project details, some papers and all. So that made me bit nervous, then I was called, he asked only my passport,
then he started asking the below questions:
1. How long you have working in current org ?
2. Where were you working previously ?
3. Who is your client ?
4. Are you married ?
5. Are you engaged ?
Then he askd me for white phamplet n told Your VISA is approved, hav a nice day ahead....

H1B and H4 visa approved at MUMBAI...
Thank You for all who shared their experiences on this forum..

I had a slight different case for my H4.

her relative had already filed immigration petition for her mother, and she was secondary applicant around 7 yrs back...

Also she had a tourist visa rejection 17 yrs back..

So was lot more tensed with the process..

Finger printing day went fine..

Normal process..just checked passport,DS-160 confirmation,appointment letter.

on first counter,asked our names..

and then on second counter, took photo and finger print.

Interview date was scheduled 3 days later.

our appointment was at 11am.

we reached around 9:45am..

just checked with security guy and he let us in as there wasn't that queue outside after checking our passport.

went inside and then put all docs inside tray for scanning..

then came to big lawn where, waiting area..

waited for around 40 min as the volunteers were letting in the interview hall by queue from there..

Our turn came and took our finger print again after checking the passport only..
one of the volunteers told to keep I-797 ready..

then again we stood in the queue for INTERVIEW..

in our counter the group applicant before us got rejected for tourist visa..

Finally our turn came..

VO:Good morning...How r u??
Me:Fine...How r u??
VO:doing gud...Passport please..
Me:handed over mine and wife's passport..
VO checked in his system and uttered my company's name...
VO:Can I have your I-797 ??
Me:passed I-797..
VO again checked something and uttered that for my wife, immigration petition was filed..

I got somewhat tensed..But my wife was relaxed...

VO:(to my wife)which relative of urs lives in US?
my wife:answered(the person who filed immigration petition for her mother).
VO:(to my wife)how many siblings you have.
my wife:1 sister
VO:(to my wife)how old is she??
my wife:18 yrs
VO:(to my wife)is she married??
my wife:no.

Then VO typed in his system for sometime..
I got more tensed..

finally VO questioned me

VO:which college you studied in US?
Me:answered
VO:what kind of work you will be doing in US?
Me:I answered with my job title and then started briefing abt job duties..

just spoke 1 line and then he interrupted me.

VO:whats ur salary??
Me:answered $xx/annum.

VO then asked 1 question to both of us..

How long have you been married.

we both answered...xx months..

VO:(to my wife)have u read white pamphlet??
my wife:no

After this VO typed again for 2-3 min...and he passed our I-797 and also the womens safety docs for US to my wife..

FINALLY he said...YOUR VISAS ARE APPROVED!!!
