Thanks to immihelp, I had gone through the questions many many times.
Just came back to my Room in Hotel Deccan Plaza. 20 mins back had a visa interview for H1. The crowd was pretty much more than I had been about 7 months back for a L1A (this was rejected).
Yes, this time it was for my company but working for a client in US, New York. The lady visa officer at counter 19 got pretty confused if this L1 or H1. She did not greet me, even when me and my wife greeted her. She had earlier approved two visas earlier, and was in a mood of rejecting this, (it was a long pause for about 3 mins, I hated this moment, was so confused as I did not want to witness an another rejection)... until she said... "OH this is H1, I am sorry, I got confused if this is L1 or B1... Hello, Good Morning... welcome, how are you she said"...
She asked me the following questions then after...
1. Which company you are working?
2. How many years with the current employer
3. who is your client?
4. what does they do?
5. what software did you say?
6. can you explain me more...?
7. what is your role?
8. are you working in client location? (yes, as we did not have office in NY - have an amendment attached)
9. which location you would be working?
To my wife:
1. how long you have been married?
Asked my daughter's petition... I asked if I can lift her so she could see her... VO said "No"
Then the great words... "Your visa is approved, you would be receiving it in 2-3 working days to your office"
Even though I practiced roles and responsibilities many times, I stammered during questions 4,5,6,7. If this would have been L1, she might have rejected on my stammering basis alone.. I think after a hard hard work, there seemed to be some luck sticking that got me the approval. "Ella pugazhum iraivanukea"!
More later... just have your appointment letter and passport ready during entering... what ever order you arrange, they will shuffle it off in the way they want in the first counter post entry into the consulate. There had been tight security following communal issues with the video, and the consulate was closed last week hence heavy crowd, and tight security. Lastly, I dont know why inspite of clear indication on the following people were making mistakes.
1. Old photos - One guy showed a 2 years old photo, and was foolishly kept arguing that he had taken in UK embassy - so what!
2. One guy carried lighter - Insane dude!
3. One guy carried mobile and his car key - Oh man!
