H1B Visa approved - 26July - Mumbai
Thanks to immihelp and the people who have shared their experience through this forum.
My interview was scheduled on 9 am. Reached Mumbai consulate by 8 AM . Security check, token registration and finger print scan completed by 8:45 AM. Post that the waiting period... almost 1 and half hour. Seen lot of people appeared for the visa interview and most of them were received rejection. Of course the visa category was different still it was very pressure building situation. Before me and after me was H1B visa candidate. Also seen 2-3 person with the petition and there visa was approved. One lady I have seen with yellow slip.
My Case: In house project development
Visa Office [VO] was taken my Passport and Original I-797 petition. No other document was asked.
My visa interview questions:
VO: Which company you are working for
Me: Answered
VO: For which company you are going to work in US
Me: Answered
VO: You will be going to work at client location?
Me: Answered
VO: Which location you are going in US?
Me: Answered
VO: Are you married?
Me: Answered
VO: Your wife is not travelling with you?
Me: Answered
VO: How many employees are there in US working for your company?
Me: Answered
VO: What is your Salary in US?
Me: Answered
VO: How many years you have been with your company
Me: Answered
VO: Have you received that this white pamphlet?
Me: Yes
Then golden words - I'm approving your visa. You will get it within 2-3 days
To all who are going to appear for interview:
- Be confident. Be honest while answering.
- Give answer point to point and do not mention any thing which is not covered in I-129 otherwise the VO will ask more subsequent questions on it.
- Do not carry electronic gadgets. It’s not allowed inside the consulate
- Do not carry big umbrella. It’s better to have foldable umbrella
- You will get enough time to once again go through your I-129 application & petition before interview. You will get the answers for all possible questions asked by VO.
- If you feel tensed, then better go and have cup of coffee/tea/Breakfast. There is a stall inside the consulate.
- Seen almost 4-5 people came for H1-B Visa and all of them got approval

This forum was very helpful for me and thought that my experience will help someone else.

I had a Visa appointment at Chennai consulate on 07/26 at 7.15 am. This is F1-H1B.

The process was seemless and I was out by 8.20 am

Questions I faced were:

Who is employer?

Can I see your Paychecks?

What is your role/responsibilities?

How long you have been working in US?

Are you married and some personal details?

And She (VO) was smiling and told me that My visa was approved and will receive it in next 3-4 days.

H1B Approved from Delhi Consulate
Hi,

I got lot of help from this site before going for my HiB Visa interview, so thought I should also share my experience to help others.

It was a very smooth process for me and VO asked only following questions to me and it took only 3 minutes:

1. My designation in my Organization
2. What do I do for my Organization
3. Where am I going in USA
4. Who is the Client and how he fits in my organization's business.

After that ... Golden Words.. :)

Tips for interview
1. Only Business casuals (you can go in Business formals as well)
2. You should know about your company, your client company, your client business.
3. You should be having 3-4 solid staements for your role and responsibility.
4. Be confident.

H1B are rarely beieng rejected at the time of stamping. They can ask your for more documents though or put your case for admin process. So, if you have all documents with you and your company is a well known company, you are all set.

H1-B Visa
I attented interview on 23-July-2012 at 10:15 AM. It hardly took 1 hour for whole process along with 1-2 minutes interview.

Below is the interview conversation after I wished Good morning.

VO: In California, to which client you will be working?

Myself: Yes. (I got tensed and couldn’t get the exact question. I thought he asked me whether I am going to work in California?)

VO: He repeated the same question without understanding my answer.

Myself: Said sorry and answered my client name.

VO: What will you be paid at onsite?

Myself: Said roughly as per LCA

VO: Why are you going to US?

Myself: Currently I am working for the < client name > in < project name > and they want me there at onsite for next assignment.
(Prepared in a different way but as I answered wrongly for first question I couldn’t get it).

VO said my Visa has been Approved and will be couriered in a week.

I thanked him and returned back with my originals leaving the passport.

Do’s:
1. Be confident in your answers.

Don’ts:
1. Make sure you collect all your original’s. I was little confused for a while not knowing what all I left with them.

2. Don’t get tensed if you answer wrongly and don’t lose your confidence.

Thanks to this forum as it really helped me a lot.
