First of Big Thanks to Immihelp and People who shared their experience through this forum
My interview scheduled on 26 th July 2012 at 10:30 AM.
I went through almost 100 peoples experiences and noted down all the questions and prepared them different ways to answer. Last 10 days I was in complete preparation mood, I was not able to concentrate on work properly. I recollected all my professional/personal journey during this preparation process.
My interview was scheduled on 10:30 am. I went to sleep previous night by 10:00 pm it self, I woke up around 6:00 AM, In between i woke up twice or thrice. I recollected my answers during all my fresh up time and woke up. I reached my office around 8:45 Am and started to consulate around 9:00 AM, There is some traffic jam in between, it increased my tension, Finally reached Chennai consulate by 9:30 AM.
There is Big queue with different set of people (young girls, guys,Old people and Kids) and different timings. I showed my passport, My interview appointment letter ,DS 160 and got my Token at 9:51 AM. This token is like something we get in ICICI/SBI bank branches for general requests. This paper token is reference number for throughout interview
There is some security check they will check for is there any Gadgets we are carrying. After entering in to Consulate there are 12 Parallel counters are there . 6 counters are left side and 6 counters are right side after entrance. 11 counters are for bundling the documents, and 12th contuer is to take the Finger prints. There are some chairs and LCD displays ,that will display u r token numbers and some US info and Finger prints process . In 11 counters we have Indian officers and Finger prints we have US Officier. There are some people standing they will assist you if you need any help.
After I see my token number I reached particular counter and provided my Passport, Company cover letter, HDFC receipt ,Token no, Photo with White background(Must). She checked some info and Bundled my Passport, DS 160 and Photo .She pointed 12th counter ,He greeted very well and provided my finger prints.
We waited there for almost 10 to 15 mins. I was bit nervous and my lips become dry, I went and took some water. After that they send to other building, It has lot of counter 13 to 30+ ,All VO are US people. There are around 200 + people waiting in hall for different languages interview. VISA staff boys shouting was there any persons waiting for interview in Hindi/Telugu/Kannada/Tamil/Malayalam
It is like Indian railways waiting for their train, lot of tokens are displaying except my token. My tension at Peeks, took water once again. Finally my token at x counter. I reached there. They announced 3 persons for counter. I guided persons before me based on LCD display at VO place. This place is like Buying Railway ticket. They can see half of us.Be in formals with tuck in.
VO greeted very well and he is finishing interview very fast. My tension removed from my face with his smile and behaviour. Now I am very confident ,My Actual character came back. I handed my Bundle to VO
VO: So ur working for x company, After seeing my Cover letter and Company ID card ,I am wearing.
Myself: Yes sir, Smile
VO: So ur going to xx place to work for which client
Myself : Answered my client name. By this time I am complete confident and tension free.
VO: What you are going to do for this client(Roles and Resp)?
Myself: I am waiting for this question, I practiced this question more than 100 times ,Presented in Best way with smile(after 3 sentences)
VO: What is your salary there?
Myself: YYYY Dollars
Golden words ...Congratulations sir your VISA approved , Passport will receive in one week.Hardly less than 2 mins. Whole process 1 hour to 1:30 mins.
I sit there for a while and adjusted my documents and reached home happily. Got the Passport in 2 days .
Be confident; execute your plan, Very easy. Hardly 2 to 3 mins , Dont be panic by seeing others interviews and other counters.
I had applied for H1 B visa three years earlier and had a query filed. My consultant did not bother to answer the query and I never got a response back from them. Now again I have reapplied for H1 and has got approved. The stamping is the major thing left out and am very nervous coz I had faced it earlier. Did any of you face this kind of a situation. Plz help me out in handling it as being honest will not work all the time.
Don't worry it's a smooth ride for H1B, i don't believe they will reject H1B unless there is a discrepency with documentation or otherwise.
I had my interview scheduled on 27th July @ 9.00 AM, reached there @ 8, initial processing is pretty fast but then have to wait and wait. I was accompanied with my wife and kid, i was supposed to get a priority token but they didn't gave me and have to wait for almost 1.5 hours (boring). I saw all H1Bs are getting approved so kind of relax.

To all who are going to appear for interview:
- Be confident. Be honest while answering.
- Give answer point to point and do not mention any thing which is not covered in I-129 otherwise the VO will ask more subsequent questions on it.
- Do not carry electronic gadgets. Its not allowed inside the consulate
- Do not carry big umbrella. Its better to have foldable umbrella
- You will get enough time to once again go through your I-129 application & petition before interview. You will get the answers for all possible questions asked by VO.
- If you feel tensed, then better go and have cup of coffee/tea/Breakfast. There is a stall inside the consulate.
- Seen almost 4-5 people came for H1-B Visa and all of them got approval
I got lot of help from this site before going for my HiB Visa interview, so thought I should also share my experience to help others.
It was a very smooth process for me and VO asked only following questions to me and it took only 3 minutes:
1. My designation in my Organization
2. What do I do for my Organization
3. Where am I going in USA
4. Who is the Client and how he fits in my organization's business.
After that ... Golden Words.. :)
Tips for interview
1. Only Business casuals (you can go in Business formals as well)
2. You should know about your company, your client company, your client business.
3. You should be having 3-4 solid staements for your role and responsibility.
4. Be confident.
H1B are rarely beieng rejected at the time of stamping. They can ask your for more documents though or put your case for admin process. So, if you have all documents with you and your company is a well known company, you are all set.
