Successful H1 and H4 Visa Interview
Hello All,

I was going through this site for past 2 weeks and this indeed help me in my visa preparations.

I had different story than others as I was the primary applicant for H1B and My husband was appliying for H4. We went to Counsulate at around 7:30am. It was brizzeling all the time (Rainy Season). We had under gone through all security checks and recevied token no for our visa interview. Mean while completed Fingerprint formalities... And then we sat in a waiting area for our turn for interview.

after a hrs long our Token no was flashed on the LCD screen and we rush towards the dispalyed window

We greated VO and passed a smile towards her.and handed over my and my husband's passport with Original I797 Pettition paper.

Me : Good Morning
VO : Good Morning

VO : Are you working in .... Company? (She read thgouth my I797 and confirmed my company name)
Me : Yes
VO : How long you are working with this company ?
Me : YYYY Yrs
VO : What is Your Client Name ?
Me : YYYY (told Client Name)
VO: Whom you would be reporting while you are in USA?
Me: YYYY (told reporting manager's name....Here i was not able to recollect the my managers's name for a fracion of second and I answered wrongly ...but I have corrected myself in next second and answered correctly )
VO : Which office your Reporting manager is sitting?
Me :ZZZ
VO : Will you b sitting at same location?
Me : I would be sitting at same location for initial 1 month then I would be sitting in Client Location
VO : How you would report him ?
Me : Weekly basis
VO : Your highest Degres of graduation ?
Me : YYYY
VO : How much you would be paid?
Me : YYYY USD

then VO turned to my husband ....
VO : how long you both have been married ?
Hubby : YYYY Yrs
VO : How you know each other ?
Hubby : Answered
VO : How you met your spouse ?
Hubby : Answered
VO : Was it a arranged or love marriage ?
Hubby : Answered
VO : Are you working?
Hubby : Yes
VO : Company Name ?
Hubby : YYYY Company
VO : Will you be quitting your job ? (Here my husband was not able to hear VO properly he asked to reapeat the question for 3 times...but fortunalty that lady was kind to do so )
Hubby : No. I will be going on a LOA for 4 months and will accompany my spouse for initial period.

That was all about....and the we heard the Golden word from VO ....that your Visa is approved and you can collect your Passport in next 2-3 days :)

H!B interview 18 July New delhi approved
Hi All,

As I have gone through lot of experience posted here so posting mine also hope this can help other.

Consulate:- Flipped thorough my passport and asked the Question have you ever been to Outside India.
Answer:- NO

 Consulate:- Have you ever applied for Visa earlier ?
Answer:- NO

Consulate:- What will you do for YYYY (organization name)?
Answer:- explained

Consulate:- How many years of Experience do you have.
Answer:- 6 years 5 months

Consulate:- Which fujitsu office you are going to?
Answer:- Richardson, Texas.

Consulate:- Is this a Head Office
Answer:- Yes ( I didn’t knew the answer of this one but still replied yes, Thankfully no cross questioning on this)

Consulate:- What is your designation and Salary?
Answer:- YYYY XX is my designation, not less than YYYY X$.

Consulate:- Are you married or single?
Answer:- Married.

Consulate :- What the status for her?
Answer:- She is not travelling with me currently.

Consulate:- So you travelling alone?
Answer:- Yes.

Consulate:- ok Fine you will receive your passport through courier in 2-3 days.

That’s the whole conversation. He didn’t go through any document apart from I797B. I was carrying whole lot of document

Hi me and my wife attended visa interview at Mumbai consulate.Below is the list of questions asked:
H1 questions :
1. What is your US salary?
2. How long are you working for your company?
3. What are you going to do for your project?
4. As I travelled previously on B1 visa also so he asked me how long I was there in US?
5. Whom will you report to in US, Company manager or client manager?


H4 questions :
1. How long are you married?
2. Are you working ?
3. Do you have any kids?

As per my experience , be cool and calm and don't be in hurry.

H1 questions:
1. Which company you are going for?
2. What is your package in US?
3. Where are you going?
4.What is your project in US all about?
5.How long you have been in your current company?
6. What is your designation in your current company?
7.Will you be working for clients or in house projects?

H4 questions:
1.How long you have been married?
2.Was it a love or an arrange marriage?
3.Where did the marriage take place?

As per the experience, If your documents are in place there is nothing to worry much. Answer confidently and carry proper documents. Good luck.

Appointment is around 9:15am. just out of my curiosity i went to counsulate at 7:40am and waited in queue for 1 hr and had long casual chat in the queue with a friend came for tourist visa.So,pressure is out....Went inside consulate at 9:15am...got to see the people around,,, standing in queue....environment is just like the env in SBI brach......got a token..waiting for a token number to be displayed in lcd tv.......once,token number is displayed...went to the cubical and given my passport,I129 petetion,Hdfc slips and ds160 confirmation.....she banded all the docs and given them back and asked me to stand at next counter for taking fingerprints.......went to that counter as she specified,but the volunteer asked me to go to next build for fingerprints,,,,,went to the next building and stood at the counter where american lady is taking the 10 finger print out(make sure ur fingers are dry).....after finger print section, i was asked to wait in the same room till my number is displayed..........Had a thought of sitting with strict desciplined manner(not seeing anyone,not listening anyone especially interviews),,,,,,,,,but i can't....actually an Old lady is interviewing the girl who applied for student visa,,VO is screwing her,,,,out of tense girl is like screaming the answers which got everyone's attention......praying the god like.....i should not be get interviewed with these kind of visa officers........turning the head from that sight, seen the token number displayed on screen but not the counter number.....asked volunteer, they told me to wait....again the number will be displayed...Waiting, keeping the fingers crossed........number is dipslayed and went to that counter and stood in a line.........seen the visa officer,,,,,,,,looks very pretty.......Observed how she is interviewing the person.......and taken a deep breath..........seems to be very polite....and its my turn

I will not say,,,it is an interview..........Its just a conversation.......
