H1B, H4 Visa

Hi,

i came to US on F1 visa and my H1B just got approved in October 2008 ..but so far i haven't got any job..so my questions is..is it advisable to go for my first time H1B stamping in mumbai in december 2008..if any one had gone thru ths pls let me knw ASAP..

Just wanna share my experience. I went to Chennai consulate for my first
H1B Stamping today. Its just 3 minutes discussion and he checked my
earlier experience in US thru my old company. He asked my educational
qualification and said thank u, good luck

I have worked in US for 6 months on L1B. I think it has cleared 90% of
my interview.

Apart from normal docs, if ur going for an inhouse proj, please please
be confidentt while u speak abt proj, and make ur answers crisp.
dont use words basically, actually and expand the explanantion.
make sure u know ur employers strength,revenue generated and also
in case of inhouse proj they will ask, from where will the company
get the money to execute the proj, then u just say the potentialities of the
proj and also say some thing like employer has already got clients with YYYY
vertical, and they are capable of marketing the tool.

- U can carry W3/W2 of wmployees list along with state wage list

education evaluation
company profile along with range of products developed and marketed by
compan. this will act as an add on/boost up for ur case
ur experience letters
any letter from current employer that ur working in thei comp
pay slips and bank statement
W2 forms and tax returns , SSN(if already worked in US)

and ofcourse any add ons. be confident of the computer science related
subjects u have done (if u belong to non-comp science degree)
just remind ur subjects.

I would like to share my experience as even I was also stuck into 221g and I know the pain when you are into that thing.

Let me share my experience,

I had been interviewed on 15 of September 2008 and the VO asked me for the tax papers, wage reports and project description.

On September 30, 2008 I submitted the documents and was given 221(g) for further administrative processing.

On October 15, 2008 I received a mail to submit few more documents and on November 6, 2008 I submitted the same to the consulate and was again put under 221(g) for further administrative processing.

Atlast finally on 10 December 2008 I got a mail from US consulate Mumbai that the administrative processing on my case was over and I was asked to submit passport along with the envelope and the yellow 221g letter.

And got the Visa stamped on 12 December 2008.

So all those guys stuck in 221g dont lose hope, if your employer is genuine you will definitely get the Visa.

I have attended H1 B visa interview in chennai consulate on Nov 24th.
VO issued me 221(g) blue form. I will get the required docs from my cosultant in this month end. How many days will i get the response after posting the docs? Any one got the visa after posting the docs in VFS ? If yes then plz send me to ur exp to [email protected]

I m very very soory my dear friends for the delay in posting the VISA interview experience.

A very successfull H1 stamping from Mumbai consulate after getting a query.

First I went to the VFS office at 10:30 and showed my interview letter & payed 250 Rs.

There they have given me slot at 1:00 pm & I was waiting in the longue.

At 12:30 the VFS people has taken us to American consulate office which is 1.5 km away from VFS by buss.

There I waited for 30 min. & went inside. First they took thumb impression and given me token no. I was sitting in the longue waiting for my number. After 30 min

I heard my no & when near that cabin. She was an lady. Then our conversation started like this.

Me: Gud Morning Mam
VO: yaa Gud Morning
Me: How is ur day going
VO: Very Fine
VO: Plz give me ur documents
Me: I gave documents which they handed to me after entering they (passport, I-797)
VO: Why r u going to US
Me: blah blah
VO: When r u going to come back
Me: blah blah
VO: What is the work ur going to do there

VO: r u going to work at the client place

Me: I said no
VO: But I really need that work proof from that client
Me: How can i bring the client letter for which i have worked 3 ago & now I m not working for them
VO: sry sir u have all the documents & every thing is perfect & i really need the work proof from that client to process ur VISA
Me: How can i get madam, its not possible i have alredy left the company long year back.
VO: see sir if u have really worked for that client then will definatly have the data for urs, & if u ask they will give u definatly give u
Me: ok mam i will definatly try
VO: then she took white from & she ticked the other document proofs & written the need the work proof from the so & so client.Then she said show this letter to them they will definatly give ur the work proof letter.U can come on any working day with this proof.

Me: Ok sure, mam i will definatly get back with the document, I said thank u very much mam & have a good day
VO: have a good day sir


After 2 weeks later i came back to Counslate with client work proof.
I came at 9:45am to the counslate then enquired outside about case. then they said the time has been completed for the query cases, u should come befor 9:30am. Then

I was really disappointed and i came next day so early 8am then they said to come at 9:30am then mean while i went to the temple near the counslate, from there i went to Mahalakshmi temple. I came back at 9:30am & waited in the que outside till 1:30, i was teribly feeling hungry atlast they sent inside at 1:30pm & finally VO has called my no At 2pm. I went near the cabin & felt help happy after seeing VO
becoz she was the same lady who dont me last time.

Me: Hey mam How r u
VO: Fine sir & how r u doing sir
Me: Good mam
VO: why do u want to go to US
Me: Blah blah
Vo: Which Copmnay has sponsered ur H1b
Me: Blah blah
VO: I said u to bring some document proofs, have u got it
Me: Yes mam, have handled them to her
Vo: she started watching the document carefully for 2 min & then typed some thing in the internet. & Atlast I heard the Great news, Ok Sir u will be geeting ur passpost in a couple of days.
Me: Thanks every much mam & have a nice day.

Then I again went to Mahalakshmi Temple.

MY Advice is only: Be bold & dont worry & very important thing is to pray God &

Visit Mahalakshmi Temple. try u best & leave the result to GOD.

hi all
i have attend the interview 10th dec. they dint ask any thing they straight away they refused my visa and took my ds forms and 1797. he informed me that my company is having the illigal obligations .

is it efect in future if i aply again

can i ask my employer to get my money back

please any one suggest me..

i had attened the interview on 6th oct 2008 ..vo gave 221(g) asking me to submit project discription.wage reports andtaxreturns
then once again i went to consulate and submitted my docs on 5th dec .vo told i want verify these docs ,this would take some time

Me:Bachelor of engineering from University of Madras
VO:Which year completed your engineering?

VO:How many years of work experience do u have?
Me:4.5 years
VO:Whats your roles and responsibilities in your current company?
Me:I explained him about the roles and resposnsibilities which i had prepared already
VO:What is your project name you r going to work in US?
Me:I told him my project name
VO:What is your roles and responsibilitis in the project you r going to work in US?
Me:I explained him
VO:Do u have project description letter with you?
Me:I dont have the project description document with me but i do have the client letter with me which states my roles and resposibilities
VO:can i see the letter?
Me:Yea,sure and shown the letter.He verified and give it back
VO:Your visa will reach you in 4 days

I received the passport with VISA stamping on Dec9th evening.

These r all the tips i would like to tell to all the people who r going to attend the interview

1.Document presentation is the main thing.so please keep the documents in index order so that u can give the documents with no time since they wont give much time to the take the document out of your file.If you take much time they will simply give 221(g) form and ask you to drop the documents in VFS dropdown box.I saw 2 or 3 peoples have been handed over 221(g) form due to this.
2.Be confident.I know its easier said than done but u have to be confident.Just be normal.Talk to the VO like u talk to ur friends.
3.Prepare for 5 mins explanation for Project description,roles and responsibilities for ur current project and the US project since eventhough u r good in communication sometimes u tend to stammer which will give negative feeling to the VO.so be prepared for 5 mins explanation so that u can explain 1 or 2 min about these things since u tend to forgot some points.

Other than that VFS and VO are friendly in chennai consulate so dont get tensed.Dont talk to people coming out of consulate or from interview.
