H1B, H4 Visa

Your H1B petition will be void if you apply for L1. You can transfer your H1B to your current employer, if you wish to. Please carry the H1B petition with you to consulate while you go for visa stamping and present it if they ask to. Another good thing for you is, if you travel on L1 and later think to swith to H1B, you can do so with out any CAP issue.

I am having H1B stampped this year through US consultant but due to the current situation its my travel is not sure.Currently i am working for a MNC and they asked for L1 and i haved informed about my H1B to them.

Can anyone let me know if both H1B and L1 is can be valid or if i will for L1 my H1b will be expire.

I have been issused 221(g) instruction sheet at chennai on 17th Oct and after i have been informed "administrative process is required" at the time of interview , Finally i got visa stamped on yesturday.

This is madhavi. I got 221g blue form in Chennai last month, next week I am going to drop req docs. Can you please share your h1b stamping experience after 221g? How much time it is taking. Any one got visa in 10 days after dropping docs.

its very cool, if your US employer is good u can get visa without any problem.

visa office just checked my U.S employer details immediately he approved my visa.

So guys be confident, dont worry.

 I would be going for my visa in 2 weeks. My employer hasnt provided the client information and the project details has mentioned that project would be developed in employer office for their end users customers.
 My doubt is if VO asks the question Whether the project is client side or in house ? What would be the best answer that i can provide. My employer has asked me to inform that at present Client is not known and my employer would let me know once i reach US. But some how i am not confident with this answer. Kindly provide your valuable comments.

I have query regarding my 221G blue form.I got 221G in January 2008 and was asked to submit the documents related to employer like tax returns,wage reports,submitted documets to USCIS and project description.I had received all the required documents from my employer including project description (Inhouse project but no client agreement letter) and dropped all the documents through VFS in the month of October 2008.Ten days back I had received same 221G and highlighted the same points mentioned in the previous 221G and returned back all the previous documents.Please help me If any one face the similar case before and the documents consulate is expecting from my employer.

i think iam a lucky person.Really iam a waste person.also i don"t have prior communications skills and also project knoledge.i don't know how i got my visa.presently iam in shock. u will get your visa if u r better than me.

i attended @chennai consulate on 24th november.my interview time slot is 7.15AM.

i joined in q @7am ,after that there is a checking counter at main door(you can see this from out side)
they checked my documents folder each and every page.if u have any sealed covers you need to stamp here.after that you need to go in side.there is a another counter like a railway reservation counter,at this counter they will ask your documents(I797,I129,LCA,DS156 and DS157 and also ur passport with hdfc bank yellow stckerd recipt)
and put these in a blue file.and they willask you to take your four finger prints(1.Four fingers of left&Right hands and nex time both hands thumb prints.after this you have to go to another building.
there is small que...(100 people are waiting for their turn)
one of the consulate person called for h1 aplicants,there is 20 members.
he adjusted for 3 counters.my counter no is 8,
i am fifth person in that 8th counter.
interview started with first person.iam not adjusted in that que.
i feel very tension.first is saying some thing but not able to here his words(there is noice).he got visa.
after that second person..........third person........also got visa.
VO called the 4th person some normal question are going on.
Suddenly one question asked about project is this inhouse project or cloent side project.hesaid client side.
vo asked him for client letter ,he is serching in his folder...vo said okay..okay iam issuing your visa.he said thanks.
my heart is beating very slowly.it will may stop in any minute(i dont have client letter)my project is client side.

my turn came.........
Vo called me.....iam not in attention up to20 seconds.just saw her she is calling by hand movement.i moved to counter

Me:Good mrng mam
VO: she is not responded looking in her system
and asked me for finger print with a small mechine.
Me:i am not able to understand her language.and asked to repeat it
VO:she directed me in mono action(like Sunday DD News for disabled)
Me:ok,and my right finger on that mechine
Vo:Pass your blue file(just iam adjusting for her language)
Me:sure,submited through window( it is rail ticket counter)
VO:Looking in to my DS-156,DS-157,
Me:iam looking in to her face
VO:You r working with YYYY Xcompany?
Me:yes,from past two years working as functional consultant with this company
VO:how many project you developed?
Me:4,and explained 3 names of projects,suddenly forgot another project name she is seeing in my face already 20 seconds up.tension not comming any word.told some ....project name bla...bla...bla..confidently
VO:Can i see your exp letters
ME:yes,Definetly Handed over documents she is looking at Date on appointment letter
Vo:ok.where R U Goning to US&What is the purpose?
me:blaa....blaaa....
VO:What is your project is client or inhouse?(it is my expected question tension started)
Me:Client project
Vo:explain...
Me:explained briefly& confidently
Vo:she is Looking into her system
me:Looking into her face there is no change in her face feelings(iam in tension)
after that golden words came,your visa approved.you will recive in one week.
ME:thanks mam,
VO:Take your Documents(I797,I129,LCA,EXP LETTERS)
Me:At that time i dont have single paisa strength.Compleatly collapsed mentally.not able to walk.slowly left that place and settled in a chair
checked all my documents.

iam in coma stage,i have a doubtis this real just punched on my leg with my hand.yes i got my visa in first attempt


Some sugitions to all my frnds:

Please be confident
Don't feel tense&and also don't feel shy to ask for question repeat
Ware a tye
Use a harmonioum file
Dont talk with others in the premices
Have all the documents.if dont have take it as normal issue
plz prepare DS-156,DS-157(online forms)care fully.if you have any doubts please mail me to [email protected]
Read once all the documents u have.
grind that employer adresess and interview dates and phone numbers
important thing is please sign on all the documents(ie:agreement letter,and signature in online forms( **** signature in native language **** )

hello all,
Thanks to this wonderful site/forum and thanks to all the people helping many through this site.
I have few queries regarding 221G.Hoping I would get the best guidance from you.I got 221G in february 2008 and was asked to submit some additional documents by the chennai consulate.
After that I moved to japan, and been here from then. I have all the documents requested by the consulate.
Can anyone help me by replying to the following queries,

1. Can I attened for an interview again in Tokyo again (Not really sure if I can since I already hold an 221G).
2.What are the chances of getting H1 for Indians in Japan and especially in my case.
3. Is there any one who have attended for H1 stamping from japan.

After fixing appointment for visa the copies of HDFC recipt( Pink and Blue) are lost.
We have a schedule appointment on Dec 5th what can we do now?
Please share any exprience...
