I have been to VAC with Wife and Kid .
There was mismatch in my wife DOB in DS 160 and Passport.
They asked me to correct and come . at basement there is Internet cafe they Corrected my DS 160.
Went again to VAC .. They have taken Photo and fingerprint then done for the day.
Suggestion : Check all Entry in DS 160 prior. Specially which come in confirmation page.
Main Interview - US consulate net day:
I went to the interviewer Till that all was good.
Vo asked me : Name , company, Client, salary, Location.

Vo asked from wife : Are you working, This is your only child ?
Answered
Vo asked me : END client letter
I : My client does not give end client letter.
Vo Asked me : Detail project description document .
I : I am not Caring now.
Vo : Service Itinerary doc
I : I have given set of document and told at end it ispresent
She gave me 221g sheet
asking for end client letter,Detailed Project description and service Itinerary. and returned my passport..
Suggestion : Carry ALL Related document they can ask anything be prepared

I've just arrived on time to the interview time slot. After security clearance, I've waited for at least 30-40 mins before attending for the interview.
VO: Good morning, how are you doing?
Me: I'm doing well, Thanks. How are you doing?
VO: Where do you live in the United States?
Me: <City Name>
VO: Who is your employer?
Me: XYZ
VO: who is your client?
Me: ABC
VO: Have you ever worked in <State Name>?
Me: Never worked in <State Name>. [Pause] Actually, never been to that state.
VO: [Types something in their system for a while.]
VO: Your visa has been approved (With a slight smile.)
Me: Thank you, Can I collect my passport in 2 - 5 business days?
VO: Sure (nods).
Collect as many documents you can for the interview. Be confident and just answer to the questions.

221(g) blue slip after Chennai dropbox
I used the dropbox option in Chennai on Dec 2nd for my first H1B extension. I received my passport after 6 business days with a blue slip 221(g) calling me for an interview. No other documents were required, but in taking all my documents with me anyway. I also have an approved I-140. I'm wondering if any questions will be asked about this? The subjection submitted has solely been for my H1B extension only, but I'm just wondering why I got the blue slip. Does anybody know? Any input helps!! Thank you! I'll update this post web in done with my interview too.

what is the process to request to return the passport while in AP?

couple of simple questions and office said approved, no slips but the CEAC status says AP from 12th. As i read other post, looks like the AP status is default before it changes to Issued. the problem is i have an international trip scheduled for 21st Dec. wondering what is the chance that i get my passport before 21st? or should i request to get the passport back while the case in AP and go for the trip and submit the passport bacj after i return from the trip? anyone knows the process to request to get the passport back?

Been in US since 2006 and working as full-time in one of the oldest companies of USA since last 5 years. Went for stamping after 7 years. Interview lasted 5 min, Visa Officer said Visa is approved and kept passports (mine and wife's who is on H4). Gave a white sheet stating generic "Congratulations, your US Non-Immigrant Visa to visit the United States has been approved." followed by details.
When I got home and checked Visa status on CEAC - it says "Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.". Same status as of today also.
Anyone else experienced this - even after VO said Visa is approved and kept passports? If so what is timeline for Visa approval? Any cause for worry?

Possibility of 221g Form
While setting up my interview I was offered for a dropbox option by the consular website. As per the instruction, I submitted all the documents in the Kochi dropbox location on Dec 2nd. All the documents were transferred to Chennai on Dec 5th. My case was updated to "Administrative processing" on Dec 10th. When I check my passport status it was updated as
"Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery"
Based on my experience if the DS 160 form says as "Administrative processing" means they are going to give 221g from asking for more details.
Waiting for the passport to collect and to see what 221g form says?
