H1B Approved after 10 days
Hi all,
I saw there are many people awaiting Visa to be approved so I thought I will my share experience here to help the forum.

Note: This is my second time dropbox and I'm on Full-time.

18th Nov : Went to VAC Hyd and dropped my passport and copies of I-797s

23th Nov : Passport status was changed to pickup at location.

I was travelling to so I picked my passport on 27th Nov and I see there is no stamp and there is 221(g) white slip to attend face to face interview any day between 10am - 11am at US Embassy Hyderabad.

28th Thanksgiving Holiday so i went embassy on 29th Nov

After a long wait for 221(g) candidates who were in same boat as mine, I was the last one to attend the interview.

VO: are you working xxx company ?
Me: yes
VO: How long are you working for company ?
me : X Months
VO : What is the Job title ?
Me : ZZZ
VO: Is it a full-time or your at client location ?
Me : Full-time
VO : What is your annual salary ?
Me : YYYY USD
VO : Were you ever stayed in US out of status ?
Me : No sir
VO : I'm sure you are not, but system wants me to check your status, it will take 24 hours to verify.
Me : Thank you

From then, I was keep checking for VISA status in US state department website, my date updated on 6th Dec and on 9th Dec again and I got the VISA ISSUED today (10th Dec)

I see that VO might have checked for my SEVIS and it takes 10 days. I had same experience in 2017. But I thought I would be good this time, but no luck.

One of my cousin also had to wait for 10 days before she receives her passport, but that is F1 -> H1B face to face. She is full-time time too.

So overall, if you have clean record even they give you 221(g) , they will issue visa in approximately 10 days.

Please check for your VISA Status in in Website https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. If it stayed in Administrative Processing and while your passport is ready to pick up, you definitely got the 221(g) and be prepare for that.

H1B and H4 Interview Experience
Hi all, today (dec 10th) me and my husband (H4) attended Visa interview in chennai. Mine is a rare scenario (i think) . I am divorcee, and had H4 visa stamped already on my passport, with my Ex-husband visa. Recently got remarried , meantime got my H1B cap-excempt approved along with I140. So i was nervous little bit as i was unsure what questions the VO would ask..so here is what happened.

both of us went to counter 20.

VO: Good morning to both.
US: Good morning officer
VO: Who is the primary applicant.
ME: Its me sir.
VO: Who is sponsoring your petition.
ME: YYYY company is sponsoring sir.
VO: How long have you been with this company
Me: I am working with this client for more than 11 years, and have been inUS for 6 yrs and came back.
VO: Who is your client
Me: ZZZ
VO: Do you have an ECL
Me: Yes sir
VO: What is your designation and what is the US salary that will be for you
Me: Told the answer..

VO to my husband:

VO: When did you get married
Hus: We got married 3 months ago sir
VO: Oh ok, can you show me your Marriage certificate
Hus: Sure
VO: Was it arrange or love marriage
Hus: It was arranged marriage
VO: Do you know the limitations of H4 in united states
HUs: Yes sir.

VO: Your visa has been approved, all the best and have good day. He handed over a green slip that had approved on it ..

7th Dec: Attended interview. VO gave yellow slip, returned the passport and asked to submit the petition documents, client documents, etc. (all the boxes ticked on the back of the yellow slip)

Planning to submit documents this week. Any clue how long this can take once I submit docs?

H1B Visa stamping: Blue Slip AP at Chennai Consulate
I had recently went for H1B Visa Stamping Interview at Chennai consulate on December 2nd, 2019 and VO asked me the basic questions and handed over the blue slip and returned my passport back to me. VO did not ask me to submit any documents.

I was changing my status from F1 to H1B. What are the implications on this? Any inputs please? I am bit worried and scared not sure of what to do.

VO checked on this option in blue slip "Your application is refused for administrative processing. The application will be reconsidered when administrative processing is complete."

I am working as a contract on EVC model. At the end of Interview, VO collected the Client letter and gave me that blue slip asking me to apply for a new passport as it is not in good condition. By the time you get your new passport, hopefully administrative processing will be completed.

Should I need to go ahead and apply for the new passport? I am just worried because I will be get a new passport number. And my new petition is with the old passport number.

Can someone please advise me on what to do? I am bit worried due to the uncertainty.

H1B renewal refusal under 221g; currently under administrative processing
I had come to India on Nov 21, 2019 to get my new H1B visa stamped on my passport. I'm at a reputed product based company in my industry, working directly with them.

What I believed was going to be a simple and straightforward process has eventually resulted in me getting a white 221g form telling me it's going to take longer to reach a decision on my visa.

Timeline:
1. Submitted the required documents in the dropbox on Nov 22, 2019. Documents were –
-- Interview confirmation page.
-- DS-160 confirmation page.
-- Copies of all i-797 A received so far (2 in number).
-- Passport
-- Two recent passport size photographs as per US visa specifications
2. Got an email from the US embassy on Nov 27, 2019 asking me to collect the passport
3. I collected my passport on Nov 29, 2019 (Friday) as I was traveling outside the state within India the previous 2 days. Upon collection, I noticed the passport had no H1B visa issued as expected and instead had a piece of paper asking to come for an in-person interview
4. I went for the interview on Dec 2, 2019. After the interview, the officer issued a white slip notifying me that my H1B was refused under section 221(g) of the US Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) as it requires further processing before a final decision can be made.

Case history as per CEC:
Case created on Nov 25, 2019
Case updated on Dec 2, 2019
Case updated on Dec 6, 2019
Case updated on Dec 9, 2019

Has anyone else experienced this on this forum? So far, the status has not changed and I'm still waiting.

F1 to H1B, F2 to H4 (221(g))
Thanks to this experiences forum. Reading the experiences kept me at peace.

I was on opt till last Oct(2018). I got change of status to H1B last year.
My wife was on F2 and subsequently we did Change of Status to H4 last year.

I am employed directly with product based company

This year we came for H1B & H4 stamping.

OFC Date - Dec 1st
Visa Interview - Dec 2nd.

During the interview, we were asked a bunch of questions related to job duties, college I graduated from, when me and my wife met, salary, etc.

No documents were asked.

Officer retained our passports and issued us a 221(g) blue form with the following checkbox checked("Your application is refused under administrative processing(AP). It will be reconsidered when the administrative processing is complete) and case numbers.

The officer told us "it should not take long"

Checked on CEAC website, showed as AP for both of us.

Dec 2 - Dec 6 - No updates

Dec 6th - Case updated for H4, still AP
Dec 9th - Issued for H4.

Dec 9th - Case updated for H1B, still AP
Dec 10th - Issued for H1B.

Thanks to everyone on this website who posted their experiences.
To all those still waiting for 221(g), hang in there. I know it is hard, but you will get it.
