Today (Dec 11th) website says my visa is issued.
When can I expect for my passport to be returned? Ustraveldocs says passport is still with the embassy.
I had a flight reservation for today which I won't be able to make. I need to change it in the next couple hours before it departs to save a couple hundred.
Any information on when passport is dispatched after issue would be very valuable.

It can be very stressful during this 221g Administrative process for everyone.
The website was very helpful for me to get an idea of when I can receive my Visa stamp.

Vo : basic questions
interview : less than 2 minutes
vo: asked only for my passport
Kept the passport and gave me a small white slip, said it needs additional processing.
told me to wait for 3-5 days

Made me wait for one min checking something on system(continuous typing and asking me to hold as she is checking )
Gave me 221g Yellow slip & returned my passport - Asking me to contact my employer to submit one document -
Copy of Contract between US petitioner and client stating the timing, terms and agreement.
Employer responded 12/11 after 2 days to Consulate email
Any idea how long consulate takes for Yellow 221g takes to respond?

H1B Client Letter
Need to Understand what can happen next in my case, if anyone was/is in the same scenario please respond.
I had an H1B Visa with Company A India which was expired.
Got offer from Company B USA to work at with Client Company X at the client location (Note both A, B and X are renowned companies). B filed my Visa with amendment and extension in premium processing and after an RFE where SOW was provided (No Client Letter) visa got approved. (Herein my notice period was done in A company and I was out of job).
Was eligible for drop box and but got 221G to appear for interview.
Interview was simple questions for 2 minutes and VO gave me 221G form asking documents from employer. To note Answer to one last question was that I will be joining the Company B when I reach USA as I have an offer letter.
Point to note that documents asked by VO were same documents that was given during RFE, only additional document asked was Client Letter.
In 2 days gave all documents BUT NO Client letter with it. I mentioned in the email that Client does not provide client letter so cannot be shared. Note, did not share any document/letter from client that its out of their policy to give client letter to contractors.
In 2 weeks got an email from consulate that a Client letter is needed from Client X and not your employer B. VO specifically wrote that Letter needed from X and not B.
Now B is after Client X to get Client letter but it seems they are denying. But they can share policy letter that they cannot issue Client letter to contractors.
If I share email/letter from client X that they cannot provide Client letter what will happened to to my Visa ?
Please help/respond.

H4 traveled india while Extension in progress.
Hi, I have applied my H1B extension in premium and got approved but as per new rule H4 extension is not eligible for the premium hence still in progress. My wife had to travel to India urgently.
Now her visa has expired

She is in India
She is eligible for dropbox but is it fine to apply for a visa (On my H1B approval) while her H4 extension progress?

I saw there are many people awaiting Visa to be approved so I thought I will my share experience here to help the forum.
Note: This is my second time dropbox and I'm on Full-time.
18th Nov : Went to VAC Hyd and dropped my passport and copies of I-797s
23th Nov : Passport status was changed to pickup at location.
I was travelling to so I picked my passport on 27th Nov and I see there is no stamp and there is 221(g) white slip to attend face to face interview any day between 10am - 11am at US Embassy Hyderabad.
28th Thanksgiving Holiday so i went embassy on 29th Nov
After a long wait for 221(g) candidates who were in same boat as mine, I was the last one to attend the interview.
VO: are you working xxx company ?
Me: yes
VO: How long are you working for company ?
me : X Months
VO : What is the Job title ?
Me : ZZZ
VO: Is it a full-time or your at client location ?
Me : Full-time
VO : What is your annual salary ?
Me : YYYY USD
VO : Were you ever stayed in US out of status ?
Me : No sir
VO : I'm sure you are not, but system wants me to check your status, it will take 24 hours to verify.
Me : Thank you
From then, I was keep checking for VISA status in US state department website, my date updated on 6th Dec and on 9th Dec again and I got the VISA ISSUED today (10th Dec)
I see that VO might have checked for my SEVIS and it takes 10 days. I had same experience in 2017. But I thought I would be good this time, but no luck.
One of my cousin also had to wait for 10 days before she receives her passport, but that is F1 -> H1B face to face. She is full-time time too.
So overall, if you have clean record even they give you 221(g) , they will issue visa in approximately 10 days.
Please check for your VISA Status in in Website https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/. If it stayed in Administrative Processing and while your passport is ready to pick up, you definitely got the 221(g) and be prepare for that.

H1B and H4 Interview Experience
Hi all, today (dec 10th) me and my husband (H4) attended Visa interview in chennai. Mine is a rare scenario (i think) . I am divorcee, and had H4 visa stamped already on my passport, with my Ex-husband visa. Recently got remarried , meantime got my H1B cap-excempt approved along with I140. So i was nervous little bit as i was unsure what questions the VO would ask..so here is what happened.
both of us went to counter 20.
VO: Good morning to both.
US: Good morning officer
VO: Who is the primary applicant.
ME: Its me sir.
VO: Who is sponsoring your petition.
ME: YYYY company is sponsoring sir.

221g Yellow Slip
28th NOV: Submitted docs in the dropbox. Got the green slip and was asked to attend an interview
7th Dec: Attended interview. VO gave yellow slip, returned the passport and asked to submit the petition documents, client documents, etc. (all the boxes ticked on the back of the yellow slip)
Planning to submit documents this week. Any clue how long this can take once I submit docs?

F1 TO H1B first visa stamping at Mumbai consulate

Dec 3: Interview.
The VO asked very basic questions and said that visa is approved and that I will get my passport in 3 days. However, its been 6 business days my visa status still shows "AP'. and there has been no update since Dec 3. I work as a contractor for a big airline.
How long does it take to get the passport? Any issue here?
