i went to consulate last week,and came out with 221(g). thay asked me one document saying that
" please get me a contract document between my employer and the cleint which i am going to work for.
and asked me to come over ince again with all those docs in person.
"
after that he ticked all 221 g list , (VO is not seeing any listed documents in 221g form ,even though i am having handy )
once i get the docs , i am plannng to go .
just i thought of sharing , and i shared , if u have any queries related to H1 , i will try to share .

Successful H1B @ Chennai Consulate

First of all, thanks a lot to this forum, which has helped me prepare well for my PA.
Here is how my day has gone.
Appointment at 1:45 PM. Reached the embassy @ 12:30 PM. Luckily there was no queue and they allowed me inside almost immediately
a) Document verification
- Please write your name in Native tounge in column 3 of DS-157
- DS-157 Mention INDIA in field 10.
b) Finger print scanning
c) Interview
VO was a guy. He was very cool. He was issuing visas to everyone. He approved 3 visas in 1 minute and suddenly I was the next.
VO: Can I have your documents please
VO: Show me your degree certificate
VO: How long have you been working in [Current Company]
VO: Is it an in-house project or client project
VO: Who is the client
[I think he checked the client details online]
VO: Go home sir, Your passport would be couriered in 3-4 days.
It was all over in less than a minute.
If you are working in a well known company, be sure to carry your ID card.

Hi Can anyone tell is 221G query treated as refusal?
Last year I got query 2 times , again this year I am trying with different H1 petition papers. So while taking appointment, they are asking whether H1b refused 2 times in 12 months? SO what answers should I give? I am thiking 221G query is not treated as refusal of H1.
Please guys suggest me on this.

Appeard for H1 in Nnov2006. I was told that they will get back. NO 221G Blue or Pink form were given to me.
Simply they will get back and Vo retained Original petition appers + Cleint letter.
Since almost 2 motnhs over and no info from Consul.. no ide whether they will really get back.
PL. if anyone faced similar case, pl. spend a few min and post ur info ....!

Be ready with your Employer's Tax returns. VO may check for the Tax paid against Internal Project.
Information about Project description, Start date, Expected end date, Market analysis for the need of this project, Any customers...etc
If possible, go with a copy of Patent for this Product.
Check your Employer's website(VO verified, in my case), if they have a Development centre where you are supposed to report.
These are the inputs i can think of at this moment.

L1 visa stamping after issuing of 2 221g ( blue forms ) at Chenni consulate

I had collected two 221 g ( blue ) forms when I had gone for my H1 stampings pretitviously. As advised, before attending the L1 interview, I had sent a letter to both my petitioners that I was not interested in joining as they had not furnished the required documents and asking them to cancel my petition mentioning my Eac nos and I carried the courier recipt with thyeme as well.
I had applied for a L1/L2 Blanket visa
VO - Visa Officer
Vo: Why do you want to the US ?
Me: To work on xxx project for client yyy.
Vo : who is your Client ?
Me : yyy, ( she looks up in her computer and confirms that is yyy )
Vo : How long have been with aaa?
Me : 4 1/2 years
Vo : Have been doing this project for 4.5 years ?
Me : No , but I've been working on similar projects for bbb
Vo : what is your specialized knowledge ?
Me: The propriteary tools used for the project, which is ccc by ddd.
We have done a similar implementation for eee in ccc.
At this point she notices that my previous two h1 cases are open
VO :You have your H1 cases open?
Me : Yes, but Im not taking up those job offers and I show her the letters and the courier receipt
vo: What degree do you have?
Me : B.E. ( C.S. ) and I show her my degree certificate
VO: Why are you not taking up these jobs?
Me: Because they failed to provide me with the requested info.
vo : ( she mutters, but the cases are still open ) Have you given any letter to the consulate
Me : No, and again showed her the letters I had written to the companies
Vo : why have you been selected for this role ?
Me : Because I've been working here for 4.5 years and I have expertise on the propriteary tools involved.
Vo ( to my wife ) : How did the two of you meet ?
My Wife : Ours is an arranged marraige through a marraige beaureau
Vo ( to my wife ) : Who arranged the marraige ?
My Wife : My parents and his
Vo ( to my wife ) : How much dowry did you pay ?
My Wife : Nothing
Vo ( to my wife ) : How much did the marraige cost ?
My Wife : I'm not aware
Vo (to me ) : How much did the marraige cost ?
Me : ( told some reasonable number )
VO : Ok , I'm approving your L1 visa, just don't go and join on a H1 because it is available
Me : Ok, Thank you Mam :)
All said and done, it's just plain luck. Some people were asked to write down their specialized knowledge on a paper there in front of the VO. Just be prepared.
Best of luck to everybody and be honest ! Being honest is what got me this oppurtunity and has pulled me out from a seemingly hopeless case. :)
