Visa Issuance fee
Hi Everybody,
I am still in confusion over the visa issuance fee. I just checked the web site of "US Embassy Delhi" and VFS site, wherein they mentioned that, Indian nationals applying for the following visa classes are exempted from paying this fee: A, C1, C1/D, D, F, G, J, M, Blanket L1 and T.
In this H category is not mentioned. Meaning they will have to pay $50 for visa issuannce fee. This include H1B as well as H4 visa.
But again why the chennai consulate is not taking visa issuance free which is Rs 2400 ($50).

Subject: Issuance Fee for H Visa - Reg

Dear Sir/Madam,

There is a news floating around stating that the issuance fee of $50 is no longer required for H Visa stamping effective from 08-Nov-2006 and the demand draft is no longer being collected at the US Consulate after the visa approval. I checked it up with the VFS, Chennai office and the customer care person confirmed the news. However, I am writing this mail to you just to make myself clear regarding this.

I have scheduled my H Visa interview on 14-Nov-2006 and hence your quickest response to this query will be of greatest help to me.

Thanks
Jos

Hope this helps.

Issuance Fee for H Visa Stamping
Hi,

There is a news floating around stating that the issuance fee of $50 for H visa stamping is no longer required from 08-Nov-2006 and the consulate is not collecting the demand draft after approving the visa. I called up the VFS Office in Chennai and the customer care person confirmed that the consulate has stopped collecting the DDs. I have also written to US Consulate at Chennai to have a confirmation in writte format.

Meanwhile, can someone who attended the interview at the Chennai Consulate yesterday confirm if they collected the DDs or not?

Your quickest response to this query would be beneficial to many who are attending their interviews in the near future and of course all the other H1 aspirants too.

Thanks
Jos

blacklisted Companies in USA- BEWARE
Hi Friends,

This is Rao from Washington D.C. I hail from Hyderabad.

Fellow IT consultants , please add a list of IT consultancies which we should avoid and make our fellow consultants be aware of their consequences.
My friends who had experience in India had to face almost 4 to 8 months of hell(No pay, no food,No expenses, No JOB) in some consultancies. So this is for people who are planning to work on H1B.

Here are the names of the software companies.

1.Info Test , New Jersey
2.Sharpedge Solutions ,Chicago
3.Cyber world ,Texas

Please add the names of companies with your list
