Hi All,
First of thank you very much those who posted their valuable interviews and suggestions....I can say, I got the confidence by reading all the posts by our users.
This helped me alot to succeed my interview.
My interview sequence was as follows....
My time was 11.30am. I was allowed inside for the security check at 12.00 am. Dont take your mobiles with you. They wont allow you to carry those inside and they will not give any locker to place your belongings. YOu have to make yourself to take of your things. There is a small pan kind of shop next to the consulate, they will charge 100 rs per mobile.
Security check will take only 2 mins per person. After that there is another queue to get your submitted documents(which you submitted prior 5 days DS156,157,xerox of I797 and questionaire). They will ask your DD and origianl 797 document and they will give arrange all those in a green enevolop cover pinned with a pink token.
After collecting the cover with Pink token, you will be directed for another queue to give finger prints. There they will collect the green cover and give you the same pink token. You have to wait there in the chairs opposite to the counters(No's from 1 to 15). That day only 6 counters are working.
Now eagerly waiting for my turn to come...They called my number at around 1.10 pm. They almost read some 15 token numbers. So be careful to listen the number and counter number also. I was called on the counter number 9.
There was a middle aged lady, she is almost issuing visas to everybody. She is taking only a minute or two for everybody.
My turn came and went inside,
Me : Hellooo, Good afternoon Mam..
VO : Hi, very good afternoon...How r u doing ?
Me : I am fine mam and how abt u ?
VO : Smiled and said doing great...
Me : Smiled....(eventhough in tension, but we have to smile)
VO : So...You are going to resign YYYY and joining YYY (US Company).
Me : Yes mam...
VO : What is your US salary ?
Me : Answered in one word.
VO : What is your current Salary in YYYY ?
Me : Answered in one word.
VO : Where are you going ?
ME : i am going to Illinois...
VO : Returned my original 797 form and said, i am issuing VISA go ahead and enjoy your trip....
I was so happyyyyy. Total it took me for a half minute (30 seconds). She didnt verify even single document.
Be very clear and speak loud when you are answering....Thats all....

H4 granted after 3 rejections for an F1
Hello,
I know this was due for a long time. My visa H4 got granted on 31st May 2006. I was extremely worried because I was previously rejected thrice for my F1 in 2002 and 2003!! This website is extremely helpful to me and I would like to share my experience with ull.
VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning
VO: So when did you get married
ME: such and such date
VO: Was it a love or arranged marriage
ME: A little bit of both (was really a bit of both)

VO: I see that you have been rejected earlier
ME: Yes, I have been rejected previously for an F1
VO checks something on his computer, my previous rejections and VO comments for my rejection
VO: I wonder why they rejected you in the first place, you sound quite qualified and you have been to the US previously. I am really sorry that you had to go through it.
ME: Smile and shrug my shoulders.
VO: Your H4 visa has been granted please pay your visa issuance fee.
I could not believe my ears!!! Whoever is applying for an H4 please don't be worried. There is not way they can reject you, just be confident and speak the truth! Can you believe it, he din't see any documents of mine except for my husbands I797 thats all! No photos, no marriage certificate NOTHING!!!

what if the our h1b sponsor could not provide a client letter or project desc ?.
hi,
Actually my h1b sponsor(consultant) could not provide me the client invitation letter.
You know that these guys are not a big organization to do in-house projects which the visa officer could easily come to know even if we bluff.
Is there any wise justification to overcome when
i am asked abt my project or client.
Could anyone please share their experiences or ideas in avoiding embarrasments?.

Very Intresting
I attended Visa interview in Chennai on 11th Sept.I must admit that I am very lucky. My Background is B.Tech (Mech) with 4 Years of real time exp. Currently working in a V Big comp from 1 year. Also my F1 Visa (Student) was rejected once in 2002.
Here is the interview:
ME: Good Morning Mam!
VO: Very Good morning
VO: Seems your Visa was rejected once previously?
ME: Yes, it was F1, Student Visa
VO:Why?
ME: Donno
VO:Whats your Qualification?
ME: B.Tech
VO: Specialization?
ME:Mech
VO: How come you are in IT then?
ME: I am having 4 years of exp.
VO: Oh..Can I see the exp. letter
ME: Showed the Exp. letter, total 3 prev and I told currently I am in YYYY comp.
At this moment I felt I am the very unlucky person as she was skeptic of the comp's I worked prev as they are small. Then she took them inside and came back and returned me the Passport and asked to wait there. So I sat there for nearly 1 hour feeling very bad and literally thought that my Visa was Gone.
After 1 hour another lady (Indian) called to another cabin and cross checked me.
Another Lady: See putting faq experiences is a crime. So if u withdraw the papers now you can apply again after 1 or 2 years otherwise if we found that these are faq in our investigation then u cannot go to US in ur life time
At this point I gone mad as all the docs were real but comp's are small. then I came up and told her boldly that all these are real and I can even bring all the bank statements like that after 20 mins discussion she was convinced and asked me to wait again.
Again I sat for 10 mins then the Visa Officer called me again and this time no discussion and straight away issued me the Visa.
Atlast I felt very lucky. :-)
So if we are real and true then no one can stop us.
All the problem is with the guys putting faq exp. So guys plz dont put faq exp as it will effect whole process in the future.

Stamping in New Delhi
Just sharing my pleasant experience in Delhi Consulate forgiving the 2 1/2 hours standing in lines and the horrod humid 33 degree weather. The only questions asked for H1-B were my company name, prior company name and the names of the universities I went to school at. Questions for H4 were wedding date and pics of the ceremony. No papers or documents other than the mandatory documents were checked.
People sent away without stamps were those without proper spoken English communication skills, consultant job-seekers going under some no-name company I-129, irrational behaviors, etc.
