hi guys
its me again, just want to help people who are applying from sydney consulate
things to keep in mind:::
1. be there atleast 1 hour before
2. take your seat before the counter 4 or 5 as u will be called to any of these counters they are specially for the non immigrant visas, you can hear what the officers are asking others, this will help u in preparing mentally and also will ease ur tension
3.Answer to the point, be confident and dont stuter
4.Organize your paper work
make two sets
one set:
offer letter
project description letters
tax returns
labor certification
financial statments
photos
client details
work experience letters
second set
educational documents
australian certificates ( reference letters, course completion letters, trancripts, degree certificate )
indian ceritificates
any other computer certificates
this helps in giving the documents to the officer in less time
5. fill the ds156 and 157 forms online and take a print out
6. Take reference letters from your Australian university professors
7. If your degree here or in india is not related to computers be prepared to explain to the officer your case as i am 100% sure that he will ask you plenty of questions
So guys be confident and speak clearly and leave the rest to god, sydney consulate is really cool and most of my freinds have got there h1b

first of all i want to thank to all those people who had posted there experiences on this site, it really helped me in preparing for the interview
To tell something about me, i had completed my masters in Iformation technology from australia and i had been in this country from the past three years
I had attended the us consulate at sydney on july29 this is how it went
officer: tell me the purpose of your visit
me: i got a job offer from xxx company, came here for the work visa
officer: what have you done here
me: MIT( masters in YYYY YYYY )
officer: how did you get the job
me: dice.com
officer: have you got the project description
me: at this point i started to explain about the project
officer: do you have any documentation
me: i showed the project letter
officer: give me the transcripts and degree certificate
me: gave him the asked documents
officer: he took the documents and went inside, came back and asked me to come and collect my passport the next day and said that he was issuing the visa
me: i thanked the officer and left
So guys who are applying from sydney, be confident and please make sure that you carry all the documents
1. offer letter from your employer
2. project description
3. tax returns alteast two years 2004,2005 of your company
4. photos of ur company
5. transcripts and degree certificates
6. financial statement of the company
the counsalar officers at sydney are really cool,be confident and speak clearly i mean to the point, dont tell stories over there as they are least bothered
one more thing if your background is different i.e if your post graduation or gradutation is not related to IT then its better u be prepared to explain, as i noticed that they r particularly looking into this thing
Technical wise they are not asking much unless if they have any doubts

Successful H1 stamping in first attempt
Hi all,
I went for stamping on 7th August, 2006 at Mumbai Consulate. Initailly i faced the problem that there has been some hike in visa issuance fee.. so I had to take one more additional DD of Rs 100.00 because now they have changed the exchage rate to Rs 48/ 1 USD. After the finger printing my number was announced..... and the journey begins.....
VO: Good morning

vo: which city you are traveling to?
Me: answered
vo: which company?
me: xyz
vo: wht is your qualification?
me: answered
vo: can you show me the proof of yr degree?
me: showed her my degree certi.
vo: how did you get this job?
me: I explained
vo: can you show me your other documents?
me: I showed all teh documents related to my application (I129, employer letter, offer letter, etc)
vo: cay you show me the other documents related to your study?
me: I showed her my marksheets
vo: can I see your detailed resume?
me I gave her my resume.
vo: asked me when r u planning to leave to US
me: I sayed middle of the next month.
then she said as per your petition you can travel only after 22nd of September.
then I said OK.
vo: your visa is approved and you ll get your passport by courier.

I was asked to bring the Itinerary of services document by the VO when I attended the visa interview with a client side project. Now i'm reappearing with a Inhouse project. Do I need to produce the Itinerary doc ???

Hello All,
I need some suggestions from you all..
I was issued by 221g on Feb7th,2006. I didnt reappear till now after that. I have produced the client side project at that time and the VO asked me get the Client Supervisor letter along with the photographs,itenary services, employers active projects.
My employer said that its not possible for him to provide a client supervisor letter and he asked me to wait for sometime. Now he had sent me Inhouse project docs and is asking me to attend the interview.
So,my question here is..
1.Can I attend the interview this time with a completly different project[ last time it was client side project and this time it was inhouse project]
2. It was 6 long months since I attended the interview, will this be a problem?
3. Also will the VO ask for all the docs that were checked in my 221g?
