got H1B at mumbai consulate
HI All,
Firstly, sincere thanks to immihelp site and all the people posting their experiences. It has helped me immensely and made me confident enough to face my visa interview.
My visa interview was on 18th April at Mumbai consulate at 9:30 am. I reached there are 8:30 am (only because I was interested in the lounge service offered by VFS at mumbai). The service is optional and does not influence visa proceedings in any way, though it saves you from standing in the sun in this scorching mumbai heat.
In mumbai, after entering the consulate, there are two steps you need to follow:
1. Collect your docs first (which you had submitted to Mumbai consulate) placed in a green folder
2. Go to counter 1 to get your finger printing done (A smooth and hassle free process). Here you are given a pink token and a number is writen behind it.
There are about 15 counters in all, a Visa Officer (vo) will read out the token numbers and the counter number where you have to go to. In the midst of crying kids and overly excited senior citizens, I was a bit worried if I will be able to hear my number but not to worry, the sound is pretty audible and you will know when they announce your name (if you skip it by any chance, the vo will keep announcing it til someone finds you and brings u to him)
Following are the questions asked to me, my interview took about 5-6 mins,
vo: where are you working?
me: XYZ,
vo: oh, you are leaving XYZ for ABC?
me: better oppourtunities at ABC
vo: What did you do at XYZ?
me: I replied with my profile
vo: How many ppl are working at ABC?
me: blah blah
vo: How did you learn abt ABC?
me: a friend works there and he asked me to post my resume there
vo: you are not happy with your work at XYZ? you dont smile when you say XYZ.
me: I was very happy working at XYZ, I had a good profile there too.
vo: who are there in your family?
me: replied accordingly
vo: where is elder brother working?
me: India
vo: Wont your parents miss you?
me: yes
vo: won you miss your parents?
me: yes, very much
vo: How long you want to go there?
me: 3 years
vo: You sure you want to go to US?
me: yes
Some tips for my comrades, Mumbai consulate is not as strict as chennai or delhi, so you can breathe easy, however, make sure you have all he supporting documents and you are confident with all the answers. Also, as is human nature, you will be tempted to answer more than what is asked. But please restrict yourself to what is asked, there is no point in showing the vo how articulate you can get.

I also faced the same problem, Really it is not going to be a problem. When you enter the consulate first the consulate people in first check your forms and asked to fill there.

regarding client letter
Hi All,
I got 221(g) in february asking for the end client letter. Now my employer sending me the new client letter with the client project, as the project is over with the first client due to my stamping delay. is there any probs in new client letter. If i go with these docs will Consulate officer make probs? or due to my delay in appearing for second interview will lead to any prob? Please send me the reply as soon as possible. This is Urgent.please help me.

H1B Successful after 221g
Hi,
I have been issued 221g in the month of March2006 asking for marketing analysis, company pictures and complete itenary of services.
I went to embassy with all documents on 18th of this month and I was successful.

H1B from London
Had been for my H1B visa on 20th April at US Embassy
London .
First time i had been on Feb 1st 2006 and the Visa officer was happy with my documents else for the fact he wanted to see my final Degree Certificate of my Masters Completion here in London and had issued me 221(g) saying need UK DEGREE CERTIFICATE.
So this time I had the document which did support that I had completed my Masters ...... I just got my visa in less than 5 minutes as was hardly asked questions as my previous interview did last more than 30-40mins !!!

i got h1b after 221(g) 2 times
first i went to delhi then they redirected ne to chennai.
next time i attended in chennai i got query to bring project decsription and tax returns
third time they verified my doc and he told me u r visa has been approved go and pay the fee
dont panic now situation in chennai easy very very easy after bush visit
be confident and think +ve

I had my first interview in dec last week.
The VO wasnt satisfied with my client and asked for proj details and end client contact.
The second time i went with an inghouse product description and timelines etc. etc.
The VO was happy with the documents and issued me the visa.
Hey one more important info ... getting a visa in chennai has bcome quite easy now ... not any scrutinization of the details provided ...
but please be very careful in case you are going with the client documents. Make sure the offer from the end client is genuine .. they'll directly contact the HR or the attorney of the company.
