I140 Premium or regular
I was considering doing the premium processing for i140 but I have few questions . My perm recently got approved. I was told by my lawyer that I can apply for i140 by first week of July this year.

1. Will premium processing help me reduce my green card wait time?
2. what is current priority date and how do i know my current priority date?
3. Will it help me applying in Premium if my current PD is falling soon?
4. Is it true that premium processing gets more RFE’s? just bcs USCIS don’t want to refund money back in 14 days and if they cannot get it done in 14 days they give RFE just to buy time.

spouse' green card on my pending I485
Dear friends
I have a question that nobody I talked to is able to clearly explain to me. I'll appreciate if anybody has knowledge about my issue. my details:
> Filed EB1A based I485 in Dec 2018. Waiting for interview (they have interviews now for EB1A)
> Plan to marry an Indian citizen (who is still in India) in October this year.
> I want to apply for her green card before my case is adjusted and then having to file for her as family (which will delay her case for years)

My questions are:
> Is it OK to apply for her after my interview (which is not scheduled yet)
> Can I also file for her from India?

I would appreciate any other helpful suggestion that can make me get her here faster and get her green card also soon.
You guys are wonderful. May God bless you

Immigrant Lawyer Recommendation for NIW (I-140)

I am an Iranian PhD student in U.S.. I decided to apply for NIW green card about a year ago. I talked to 8 different lawyers and they all said that my credentials are enough to apply for NIW and they recommended me to wait until I receive my PhD and have more papers/citations. However, Victoria Chen immigration group told me that my credentials are enough and I don't need to wait until I receive my PhD. They highly recommended my to apply for NIW and they guaranteed that if I don't get approved all costs will be refunded.

I took their advise and applied for NIW. It was a long process and we spent around three months to prepare my petition. I asked more than 2-3 questions per day and they were very patient in answering my questions and preparing the petition.

For writing the petition they needed to know and learn about my work in my field of study, which took a lot of time and effort from them. At the end, they prepared a petition package for me that was amazing. They were able to give very good explanation of my work in a way that it was even surprising for me.

Finally, after around 8 months my NIW petition was approved and I received the approval a few days ago.

Generally, I write about pros/cons when I post a review in Amazon,ebay,... But, I cannot remember any negative experience with Chen.

Green card through Marriage
I would like to share my experience of doing the paper work for my husband’s immigration for green Card. (he was not in US during this whole time ) I sent all the required documents to USCIS.
I did paper marriage in 08/2015 and filled for his immigration in 04/2016.
I waited for this long because I myself was a green card holder and I wanted to apply for citizenship. I applied for my citizenship in 04/2016. So both the process started almost together.
I heard back from USCIS on 09/2016 that the paperwork is approved and the case is moved to NVC. And because I’m a green card holder I’m in queue until it’s my turn ( for green card holders the time frame is anywhere between 1.5-2 years)
In 01/2017 I got my US citizenship. The same day I called NVC and informed them about my status change. They asked me to send them my naturalization form in the form of email. One week later they informed me that my case is open. And I can start the 6 steps process. I and my husband then started it by paying the fee and filling out forms DS-260. We then collected all the financial documents, made a packet and send everything as directed to NVC.
I haven’t heard back from USCIS till April. I went to overseas in 04/2017 due to some personal reasons.
Anyways we kept calling NVC and finally in 06/2017 they told us that we are missing the police certificate of my husband. And the one we sent is wrong police certificate. ( it’s one of the document from the list of documents you send to NVC). Me and my husband clearly remembered that we had sent 2 police certificates because the country my husband lives in had 2 different kinds. In case they accept only one. But NVC insisted that that they don’t have the correct one. We insisted and told them even if we send it again it would be the same document. They said we can wait for the supervisor to look into the documents again but this will take 2 weeks. We said ok we will wait for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks we called them again and were told the same thing.
In 07/2017 We sent the SAME DOCUMENT again (NVC always takes 4-6 weeks in processing your documents regardless of if it’s a whole packet of documents or just one document) and started waiting for their decision. We haven’t heard back from them till August. So we decided to call them again. Luckily this representative we spoke to was extremely good and he suggested us that we can EXPEDITE the process. He explained us the procedure. ( it’s writing an email explains why you want to expedite) we explained our problems. The expedite request was accepted in a week. My husband did his Medical in August and got an interview call in September, the 2nd week of September he gave his interview and after ONE day he got his visa.

By sharing this whole story I wanted to inform people of my experience and on top of everything I want to share THE EXPEDITE process. People don’t know this thing, so please if you want your case to be processed fast, just ask them to expedite it as soon as it’s transfers to NVC.

response to RFE on I-140 sent. What now?

I got RFE on my i-140 and just about a month ago my lawyer sent the missing files back (proof that employer can pay wages). USCIS received the response to RFE on Nov 6th 2017. What happens now? I know it usually takes up to 60 days for uscis to reply but does anyone have any other estimate?

Also, My company did concurrent filing of I-140 &I 1-485. If I-140 gets approved what is the timeline for green card? If anyone has a similar situation please reply.

My naturalization journey
I used to come to this website for help while my case was being processed. This has been very helpful.I would like to share my experiance to others. I came to the US as an asylee in 2011. I submitted my asylum application in May. I did the interview in August. I received my work permit in September the same year (2011). I applied for my greencard after a year in 2012 and received it in september 2012. I tried to apply for naturalization in 2015 but was told it was a year early. I waited for a year (In the meantime I worked and went to school. I got my Masters degree). I submitted my naturalization application in Dec 20 ,2016. Received an interview schedule email in March 2016, I did my Interview in May 22. I was graduating on May 23rd the next day. During my interview I told the IO that. We talked about that and some other stuff about school. He asked me civic questions. I answered the fist six and he congratuated me and told me he will send me the letter after 3 weeks. I didn't get it in three weeks. But got it after two and a half month in August. I was getting ready to travel internationally and already bought the ticket when I got the mail indicating my oath ceremony was scheduled for August 22nd. I was planning to travel on the 24th. I was gonna use my passport from my home country. I knew I wasn't supposed to but I was desperate. Anyhow , I did my oath on 22nd , went and applied for a passport on the same day , and got my passport on the 23rd and travelled as an American citizen on the 24th. Thank you God and Thank you American Efficiency. I love this country. Thank you everyone who ever posted anything on here because it helped me a lot. Let me know if you have any questions. This happned in Washington , DC.

EB1A, self sponsor, NSC
I hope my experience could give some insight to other guys waiting to get sorted out by USCIS.

French citizen, born in Morocco. Married, two kids

on O1 temporary visa, EB1A application, NSC, self-sponsor

-Nov20,2016, Filed I 140 premium processing
-Nov28, got RFE on I140, had to prove that the company I created really makes business with other companies as they do not trust press releases. Letters from customers testifying that business development is ongoing have been produced
-Jan 20 2017, responded to RFE
-Jan 27, I140 Approval
-Feb27, filed I 485 and advance parole
-April 7th, got Combo Card EDA
-April 13th, had fingerprints taken
Then nothing happened until:
-Sep 20, I485 RFE, had to provide birth certificates from country of birth(Morocco), not from country of citizenship(France). Had to prove that I still work on extra-ordinary capability topics. I produced a letter of employment and pay stubs
-Oct 10th, responded to RFE
-Oct 18th, Approval of I 485, card in production
-Oct 23, card mailed to you
Oct-25th, received GC cards for the whole family.

My GC journey comes to an end. I am very proud to be part of the country of opportunity. I wish good luck to everybody while waiting. I will keep sharing my experience in this thread from time to time.
