No activation email from government seva
Hello All,
I started Indian Passport renewal through CKGS and reached step 6 where I was redirected to government passport seva portal. https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html
I registered using all the details. But I have been waiting for an email with the activation link so I can proceed with filling the form. I have checked my spam multiple times, it is not there either.
Can anyone tell me how long do I have to wait for it? And what are my options if I don't receive it at all?

CKGS notary and self attestation forms not coming up
I am trying to apply for passport renewal with Chicago Indian embassy. I entered all the info on the CKGS site and did a save/exit before the payment is made when you select the courier. I did not print the notary/self attest forms and thought I can come back to them later (since I don't have a printer at home) but I am not able to retrieve the forms to be submitted via My Account even if I enter my web ref, DoB and PP# credentials now. It just says 'Information requested does not matchup with criteria'. I am just going bonkers!!!
Please note that I am able to actually go and start off from where I left off via the CKGS web ref number from the bottom of the page and continue from where I left off. I am yet to pay and yet to proceed to fill the govt NRI passport form but I thought I can do it later. I would like to go back and pull the sign/self attest forms and notarize.
As always anything to do with Indian bureaucratic system is always a pain in the butt!!! They have made the customer service help a payable service not to mention the ridiculous amount of redundant details filled on the website which is so annoying!
Any help is appreciated please.

SFO consulate - Feb 2020 passport reissue timeline
Here is my timeline for passport reissue at the SFO consulate.
Special services: Addition of spouse name after marriage.
I got all my documents attested including Indian marriage certificate (this was not in my checklist, but I attached it anyway).
Attestation was done at local UPS, $15 per signature. Attestation means they sign a piece of paper and staple it to your color photocopy.
I purchased the shipping and SMS options from CKGS.
I have copy pasted my timeline from the CKGS website below.
The time appears to be in Eastern but I am in Pacific Time. When it says 9pm below, I actually observed the status change on the website at 5pm my local time.

Processing on hold- embassy returned passport to coc
Hello everyone- need your input on the renewal issue. My passport is expiring in May 2020. I sent the paperwork at the end of Jan. My last passport was renewed at Washington DC in 2010.
The embassy returned the passport to cox in February 13 saying that they needed the address in India. I am not sure where I was supposed to put the Indian address. I called up cox and gave them the address.
What does this mean? Is my passport picked for police verification in India? I have travel plans next month and police verification can take upto 6 weeks. Also, I don’t understand after being reissued the passport the last time in Washington DC, why will they refer for police verification. I’m concerned about the time it will take. Any inputs will be appreciated. Thank you.

Passport renewal with change of address - Houston Consulate
My experience with passport renewal along with updating address - Houston Consulate
CKGS has a very smooth and straightforward process. Just follow all instructions (very easy to find and understand) and be sure to include all documents including notarized ones as directed. That's pretty much it. Once sent to CKGS it is a very easy process and your application can be tracked every step of the way.
