As everyone else on this forum, I have been eagerly waiting for my EAD which is still not even approved. Application is based on my L2 Visa and the processing center is Vermont with me being a September 2017 filer. I missed 4 job opportunities so far one of which being a dream job for me so a big Thanks to USCIS for their snail-like pace and scorpion-like customer service. Since I have all the time in the world and the USCIS website allows it, I have tried to get some real information by checking all applications between the numbers of 1790160000 and 1790170000. Dates are roughly equivalent to August 21st through September 14th (There are applications on the list received at different times too as there is not always correlation between case number and received dates) and below are all applications for EAD (I-765 in the case update's body) which are still not processed or at least that is the assumption (case's title says 'Case was received'):

L1B individual approved after Blanket rejection
I have attended blanket visa interview on 13th Nov.
Questions asked:

1. What is your designation?
2. Since how long are you working there?
3. Where were you working before?
3. US salary?
4. What are your roles and responsibilities?
I made a mistake while answering this. I have answered my US team responsibilities
5. What will be your roles and responsibilities in US?
I realized my mistake. I had answered the same responsibilities. I knew i was taking my interview in the rejection path. [I should have answered my India responsibilities]
VO caught me by looking at my DS-160. It has my India team roles and responsibilities.
6. Looks like your roles and responsibilities are same, why are they sending you there?
At this time, I have made up my mind that i am going to get rejected.
Answered that i am one of the senior members of the team, I have to work closely with product management team.
7. Can you tell me your specialized skills?

After a minute, VO said - L1B approval range is narrow and stamped as "Not clearly approvable."

Hello All.

I am working for an Audit Firm and I have a blanket approval for L1B. Last year few of my colleagues from other entities had applied for L1B for 4-5 months duration and majority of the cases were rejected

I have an employment offer from the parent body in US and have traveled Middle East and London in the past for work. I am quite nervous for the interview reason being of the high rejection rate. Please suggest any particular do's and don't which I should keep in mind in front of VO. Thanks in Advance

L1 A Individual Premium RFE Processing time
Hello My L1 individual under PP was filed on 05 -Dec-17, received RFE on 15-Dec-17 . RFE was received by USCIS on 23-JAN-18 & still its showing. We will start again working on you case & update you.

15 calendar days are already over, I am worried . Can anyone share his experience or comment on this.

L1A Individual Approved After Blanket Rejection

Time to give back to this very useful forum.
back in July 2017 , my blanket was rejected , it was little over 5 min conversation with all the questions around Title, Reporting, Salary, duties but more focused on reporting.
My visa was rejected with "Not Clearly Approvable" remark"
Questions asked were very similar to what has been posted by other friends so i will not repeat, my message for those going for blanket is , in Blanket interview decision is entirely upto Consular's judgment and has narrow margin for error. I think i should have been more prepared for Blanket with crisp answers . Anyway for to those appearing for Blanket , prepare answer to What do you do and what you will be doing , Challenge yourself to answer this in less than 30 second without missing key managerial duties as per USCIS.

After my Blanket rejection i was damn frustrated and dejected, But legal team told me that Blanket has history of higher rejections. so we applied to USCIS for individual petition under premium processing. Since i was involved in every step of my application i learned a lot about this visa category after lot of follow up and discussion with Legal . so here is overall timeline .
We got RFE for my Petition , which is very common these days for USCIS petitions so don’t stressed out. After we replied to RFE I got my approval the next day.

Scheduled time : 11.15 AM
Reached consulate at : 10.50 AM
Out of consulate : 11.15 AM ( we were fast tracked due to infant , fast enough to not give any time for unnecessary stress out )

VO: so you work for Halliburton
Me: yes sir

VO: What do you do for Halliburton
Me: started explaining my duties at a bit of faster speed

VO: I am unable to understand can you tell me what’s your designation
Me: Technology Leader

VO: ok your blanket was rejected and you applied for individual after that
Me: yes sir

VO: so what would you be doing in US
Me: explained in details that I will be managing global groups of Software professional across 4 countries and mentioned my authorities in the role ( 3-5 sentences )

VO: how much will they be paying you
Me : 6 digit US salary + Stock options

VO: ok all your visas are approved you may go now.

I think the decision was made before our conversation , consular only looked at me once in the beginning and then after he continued to do his job on computer.
He just glanced at my family and no question , the entire conversation was less than 3 min .

My few cents :
1. Do not arrive more than 15 min before your interview. This will avoid unnecessary waiting and inheriting other’s stress
2. You will feel anxious , stress will be high , no need to avoid that emotion , everyone has it just make sure it doesn’t reflect when you start conversation. Imagine yourself talking to your senior management in lift
3. If you qualify for this VISA its yours. But when so many people want to go to US and not every visa can be approved , don’t feel dejected if blanket doesn’t go through.
4. Company prefer blanket because its faster but if it doesn’t go thgouth you have more robust Individual petition approach , its time consuming and patience tester but your case will not be fully at the discretion of consulate.

L1A after H1B
I work for a big MNC (fortune 50 product company).

Here is my story in timelines:

12/01/2009: Enter US on H1B (startup product company)
4/30/2012: Change Job (H1B transfer) to a small company ABC
7/1/2013: Current employer (Large product company XYZ) acquires ABC (H1 transfer done)
7/15/2015: Transfer to India office with same employer (fully owned subsidiary)
7/15/2015-current: 5-6 B1 trips to US (each about 2 weeks)
7/1/2017- Promoted to Senior manager (6 direct reports India, 12 vendor in-direct reports India, 2 direct reports)

I am planning to apply L1A in July / August this year (and file a EB1C green card). The salary will be in range of about 160-170K (+ Bonus) in San Jose, CA

I will have 17 years of experience in July 2018 (when my employer applies for L1A)

Here is my confusion:
1. Is there a risk because I had multiple B1 visits in 3 years?
2. From 7/1/2017 to 7/1/2018, I will have US visits totaling about 8 weeks (4 trips). Do I need to wait that much extra from 1 year to be eligible for L1A?

NOC L2 dependent
Hi,
My spouse works for private org and we are planning to apply for L2 dependent visa. Do we need NOC for from the employer for visa interview? Appreciate your response.

L1 Individual & H1 B Appointment
Hi All,

I applied for L1 B blanket 2 months back and it got rejected. I gave all my replies in calm and composed but VO after that said that the blanket scope is very narrow and we can't give you visa right now. After that, my Employer initiated my L1 B Individual and my petition got approved by USCIS within 15 days.

Meanwhile, this year one of the other company has also applied for the H1B petition for me and that petition also got approved after RFE. For L1 B individual I have my appointment on this month and for H1B I have to fill my Ds-160 and then take the appointment. I want to go with L1 B individual.

I just want to know will this whole set up impact the possibility of L1 B individual visa approval. If given an option, I want to go with L1 B individual.
