L1- Banket Visa
Hi All,

Thank you for providing L1-B visa related information. This website was really very helpful with max of my doubts got clear.

My L1-B visa appointment date was 5th July, 2016 and it got approved.

Note:
For L1-B Visa, Anti Fraud Fee is now 35000.00 INR. I had a demand draft of 34000.00 INR but the lady at the counter asked me to pay additional 1000.00 INR which I did and got the receipt immediately.

I guess DD is not compulsory, you get pay the entire amount there itself if you do not have time to pay the DD.

Interview Questions:

VO: Please come
Me: Reached to her window

VO: Hello Sir. How you doing?
Me: I am good ma'am. How are you?

VO: I am good. Please give me your passports ?

While I was answering, VO was scanning the bar-codes from the back of our passports and some problem was there with the software.

VO: Sorry, my system is giving me a trouble.
Me: No problem ma'am.

VO: So your will work for XYZ Organization?
Me: Yes Ma'am

VO: Ok. I am approving your Visa.
Me: Thank you Ma'am.

VO: She smiled and said I am keeping one copy of I-129S and giving back two copies to I-129S. Please handover one I-129S to your HR and one copy at port of entry. Do not misplace them otherwise they will grill you there for 14-15 hours.

L1A Individual Premium Approved
Hi All,
Thanks for this forum for helping to improve the confidence, knowledge and process about the whole L1A.
I had applied for L1A Blanket from chennai last year and that was rejected. I then applied for L1A Individual in premium processing from London as that is my current work location.
I received the approval within 3 weeks and then I attended the Interview at London consulate.
At the London consulate, they took the passport but did not say it is approved, instead they gave me a 221g white form. She told she has to do additional processing and will get back to me in case of additional information.
Luckily there were no follow ups from either side, and my passport was available for pickup with stamping a week later.
I feel they did not approve right away, 'coz I had another H1B petition in process through another company for which I attended the interview a few months earlier. They had put it on hold for employer checks and they had asked for few additional details related to the employer. I did not follow up to provide that info.

So my feeling is that they wanted to check if my current L1A application is indeed genuine.

But , finally all's well that ends well.

Thanks all and good luck to all prospective applicants.

Thanks

L1A Blanket Visa Approved
Hi All,

Thanks for all the help on this forum as it helped me prepare for my L1A interview. My wife and I appeared for our interviews in Calgary, AB (Canada) and the following questions were asked:

1. How long you have been in Canada?
Ans - working with XYZ company (global company) for 14 months and interviewer was already impressed. Before that worked with the same company in USA
2. What's your role in Canada and what will be your role in US?
Ans - explained in brief the engagements I'll manage in US and what I'm doing in Canada. Keep this answer precise with some key words
3. What's the team structure?
Ans - explained in brief the team under me and whom I report to
4. Provide your marriage certificate
Ans - no questions asked to my wife in interview, maybe as we have previously stayed in US so they didn't need to check much
5. Location in US

So guys this is it. Simple mantra for interview is just stay confident and they are smart to gauge whether you are a seasoned manager/ executive or not. One more thing that helps if you have previously worked in US and as a manager and the second thing if you are working with a big global company.

Good luck to all of you and please feel free to ask any questions you have.

L1A Individual Filing - Receipt Number not received
Hi,

My employer has filed L1A Individual petition under normal processing. Its been more than 7 weeks and immigration team has not yet received the receipt number. Per my understanding they update with receipt number by 2 weeks and the adjudication would take easily more than 3 months.

Is there a possibility of such delay in getting the receipt? Anybody facing similar situation?

Thanks,
Sameer

Change Status from L2 to F1
Hello,

I am currently on L2 Visa (Valid visa until Jan 2018 and I-94 Jan 2018). Currently 2 weeks ago I applied for Change of Status from L2 to F1 Visa... Through courier tracker, I got to know that documents have been received by USCIS. When the receipt number is created for my case, the moment amount (fee) is deducted from my account & physically I receive the receipt number mail, can I consider that my status is in pending?

L1 Visa holder is leaving to India for 3 months due to project reasons, till that time can I stay in U.S. since my COS is in pending status (with a valid I-94 status).

Thank you,
Maria

I would like to share my first experience visiting consulate office in Chennai. My company had initiated L1B Blanket visa in Feb 2016 and I got the appointment scheduled on 23rd June 2016 .My appointment was at 11 AM. I went there at 10 AM , It was the long queue and I was at 20th positions . I reached at 1:30 pm to counter. Consulate officer took my Form and passport and asked me below questions
1/ How are you - I am good ,thank you
2/So you work for xxx company.- Yes
3/What is your US salary - Answered
4/So you going for coding and testing as it was mentioned same in form - I said Yes,
5/What is my project -Explained
6/What is this tool YYYY - Explained
7/What is your Indian annual salary .
8/will they cut off your Indian salary in the US. -Answered.

Finally, he said your visa is not clearly approvable and gave me the blue sheet .

I was quite surprised and annoyed .
Now my company may file L1 B Individual visa (without premium processing).and
1/ I have no idea how much time it gonna take .
2/how it is different from the l1 b blanket ,
3/will this rejection affects my next interview.
4/What is the success rate of individual Visa?

It would be very helpful if anybody address above questions.
