Hi Everyone,

I appeared for L1B blanket visa interview and unfortunately it did not get approved. VO asked me whether i am from development or support. He also asked me my team size in india and US.

Can someone please let me know if there is anything strongly related to support profile? And my support is on company proprietary application for which it is difficult hire someone from outside.

My company is in process filing L1B individual now.

L1 Blanket Approved @ Chennai
Hi All,

First of all, I should thank this forum for all the guidance. Main learning is to be confident and answer the questions according to your I-129S. You cannot tell some story which is not at all related to that one you wrote in I-129S.

VO greeted me and my family ( I have 7month old son... VO tried to make him smile).

Questions asked...

Q. Which company are you working for?
Q. What is your role in USA?
Q. How long you would be in USA?
Q. What is your specialization?
Q. What is this specialization made of? Java or C++?... This is the main deciding factor. My answer was No as we used proprietary technologies. But, the moment she mentioned Java or C++, it clicked my mind that I should say No.
Q. Did you develop this? I said yes and I am part of the development team.
Q. What is your marriage date?

After this, VO got busy in scanning the bar codes of our passports multiple times
and
then came the golden words "Your visa is approved".

Regards,
Pavan

L1B Blanket - Help
Hello All,

Nice to see all of your valuable comments and experience in this Forum. So thought asking one help that I am currently little bit confused. My Visa interview is scheduled for next Monday and the petition done by Fragomen. They made one typo in my petition in I-129S and L1B Support letter. The typo is my education passing year. They rectified it and send back me the new one in a email but the issue here is the paper they have used. I have to replace 2 sheets in my petition but the existing one is in US A4 size sheet(8.5 inch x 11) not Indian A4 size. I am from Hyderabad so somebody know is there some availability od US A4 size paper in Hyderabad? Fragomen advised me that if US paper not available go ahead and replace with Indian paper only. But that is not matching with size and color. Please advise what you people think here

Thank you

Tips: Have a good posture before officer. Hold your chest up and show you can take him confidently.
Look into his eyes always and listen very carefully. They don't expect split second answers. Think about question and answer slowly. Some questions are random in nature. So don't get brain freeze if it's not in order as you prepared. Expect unthinkable questions. For that your answer must show VO, the confidence level you have. Doesn't matter if it's right or wrong. Don't panic for wrong answers that only you know. Show something unique about yourself.

Once you are in lobby, they will ask your visa type and make you sit for a while if its Blanket. If you have not written your name and passport number behind DD, you will be asked to. They will check your docs and use a rubber band to hold everything together. Then, you will be asked to get to a counter where they collect the DD.From then on, you will be passing on from one counter to another showing your passport so that they update their systems. In each counter, they will guide you which counter to move on to though. Once every counter is done with, you will be sent to the ultimate queue. Next destination. Visa officer.

Note: VO's voice was feable. When he started questioning, it took me a while to know he has started questioning me. It was like as if he was singing to himself.

Thanks to the wonderful people who share experiences here. It helps a lot. Here is my payback time.

VAC Center:
I was exactly at the scheduled time. So my batch had already passed by and I was the last one to get through. It's not a big deal. They understand you arrived on time and let you through. This is big advantage cause you don't waste time in line. 10 mins and its all done. Here, everything is done by indians.

PAI:
I was here 1 hour before scheduled time and I saw no queue outside. I went in and they allowed. The preliminary check on road is confusing and not in order. Suddenly the security guard will ask you to get seal on DS160 from a guy sitting in chair some where.

Once in,you will be cooled off with nice air conditioning. Things are checked through XRay machine including documents. There will be a person who will check the type of visa and ask you for required docs. For me, 3 sets of 129 + 797, Passport,DD,DS160 form. Your papers will be folded vertically and placed inside passport. Next destination, Visa lobby.
