Query on Specialized knowledge for L1B Blanket
I'm reviewing the petition for my upcoming L1B Blanket interview in Chennai. My specialized knowledge is conveyed as "use and application of proprietary tools". I have about 7 years of experience with just 1 and current company. I've had been granted L1B earlier as well.
Based on what I've read so far in this forum, the Consular Officer is only convinced with evidence of specialized knowledge as design and development of a proprietary tool. I'm planning to focus on explaining my specialization as "services based on usage of proprietary procedures and tools".
I'd like to know from your experience, how to best represent my specialized knowledge. Thank you!

L1B Interview scheduled on 18 Sep - Approved
Hi,
I had Interview scheduled for my L1B visa on 18th Sep, 2015 & got my visa approved.
This forum has really helped with the preparation for my interview and hence sharing the same.
Question asked:
Q) Which company you are currently working in?
Q) Which company you are going to work for?
Q) Whats your salary in US?
Q) What are your specialization?
Q) Where you a developer of the tool?
Q) Who will your client benefit from your travel?
Q) Whats your Date of marriage?
Q) Question to my wife: Is it Date of marriage correct?
Time taken to ask these question were about 5 mins since Consulate officer was looking into computer most of the time. For me, Consulate officer was really good and clear in communication and questions.
Simple rule to clear the interview:
1) Prepare well for all questions stated on this website
2) Practice in front of mirror
3) Be Confident
4) Wear Smile
Advice for People going to Biometric Center in Chennai:
1) No Mobile, Bags allowed inside - Go with papers only.
2) Location of Biometric center is on the main road but difficult to locate since entry is from the back side. On the same building, Samsung service center is also located. So while coming you can check for buidling with samsung service center to easily locate it.
3) Reach the destination before 20 min from schedule time. I found that they were taking people by appointment (which is always good to be followed)
Advice for people going to chennai US consulate:
1) Arrange the document in below mail:
3 Set of Four Pages of Form I-92S (5th Page to be kept different) followed by Form I 797
2) Visit early in the morning. Time mentioned on the appointment letter is irrelevant even though Visa Application Center (for Biometrics) will insist you to visit during appointment time.
3) Ask for the exact queue once you enter Consulate. It will be mess there. So ask questions and get into right queue.
4) No Mobiles phones, bags allowed inside the premises.
5) There will be no board stating its a US Consulate but its pretty famous places and can be located easily.

Could anyone suggest if in I797B form, consulate is mentioned as Chennai then, Does this means that I need to go to Chennai for Visa interview or Can I take an appointment in Delhi consulate .

Hi, my L1B visa approved in chennai @16th Sep 2015. Still i didn't receive receive my passport. While tracking it says "It is still with embassy. Can i know from anybody how long will it take to receive.

Day One : Biometric. Carry Only DS160 confirmation and Appointmnet letter. It will take only 10mins and done for the day.
Day Two : Visa Interview
Once up on security check you will be allowed to go inside. Please carry all documents and must carry documents
are I-129S, I-797, Justification letter and DD.
Firstly separate 3 sets of I-129S, I-797 forms and deposite DD. Then finger prints will be authenticated and starts the actual interview.
Note : Please say all answers short and sweet.Also prepare all your answers in advance. Don't blink/think before VO.
Myself : Good Morning
VO: Good Mormning.
VO : This is the first time applying for L1B
Myself : Yes.
VO: What is your role/responsibilities in US
Myself : My responsibility id to integrate my company unique product #### with my client systems.Single point of conatct
between offshore and client. Also to get the requirments from client and also apply my company unique product ### across
requirements.Finally to assign work to offshore.
Note : When I said my Company product ### he noted in paper and typing something in his desktop.
VO: what is your specialized knowledge.
Myself : Explain about my company product. Told like it is unique in market and used advanced skills and techniques and
procedures as per company standards.
VO: Is this product already developed.
Myself : Yes and it got released in 2014.
VO: How many people know this knowledge in your company
Myself : 16
VO: Then why only you are selected.
Myself : I have worked under this unique product ##### form past 1.5 years and involved in Requirements phase to implementation
phase. Also I am working from past 3.5 years with client and I know comlpete client sub systems and it will be useful to integrate
