L1 Visa Interview
Hi all first i need to thank all the members in this forum who helped in getting through the visa interview. My experience is as follows:

My oppointment with the delhi US embassy was on 17th Oct 2008 at 10:30.I reached the embassy at 9:15 and suprisingly i was let in.There were some VISA consulers standing in the queue to verify the documents. Then there were 4 counters outside where in employees of US embassy were doing the first round of check to see if the documents are fully complete,do we have the DD etc. After this i was asked to proceed inside the US embassy. Here the security check was done as done in airport but for people who had mobile phones and other electronic items there was an area where you can leave these items.Since i did not know that i left my mobile in the hotel.I think this facility is available only in US embassy. After this i paid my fees and then the finger printing was done. Then i was asked to stand in the queue for the interview with the VO officer. There is no token system here.I was standing in the BEP queue as my company was in BEP list. There were 6 VOs 2 ladies and 4 men.Only one male offcier here was asking a lot of questions to every body. The lady officers were good.I was preparing for the worst in case i need to meet the male officer.I had prepared for all the answers posted in this forum and i think it is a good idea becuase our confidence is boosted. When my turn i was directed to the female VO officer. The question answer session is as follows:

Me : Good morning mam.How are you doing today
and i gave my VISA papers through the window

VO officer : fine ( I think she said fine but actually she was staring at the computer)

VO officer : how long with YYYY company?
Me : 3years and 10 months
VO officer : what tools
Me : i be working on xxx tools etc ( as in the VISA form)
VO officer : keep your index finger on the machine.
Me : followed the instructions.

Thats it after that there was silence for a few minutes and i did not know what do i was staring at the glass and up and down .The VO was checking the computer and started signing my papers and then

VO officer : Your are VISA is approved and you will receive your passport in x days.

Me : Thank you mam have a nice weekend

VO officer : you too.

During all these conversation the VO officer did not even look at me.But since i had travelled to the US before on H1 i think i was asked less questions.Anyway my visa was approved and i wish ALL THE L1 VISA ASPIRANTS BEST OF LUCK

My interview was scheduled for 7.30AM. I and my wife reached thr at 7.00Am, but was asked to wait in the queue eventhough my company was a BEP member. So waited in the queue for more than 1hour and reached the gate at around 8.15Am. Went inside and they asked us to scan our fingers and accepted the DD. During that, he noticed that my photo was old. I already had a B1 visa which was done last year with the same photograph. So asked me to get a photograph done from a photographer, who is inside the consulate (costs around Rs 100). So be watchful to take a relatively new photograph with you and reduce the tension about all these!!
After the initial verification, I was directed to the interview counter. There were few people before me. When my turn came she checked all my documents and asked teh following questions
Who is the client?
How many years you have been workin for the client?
What is your role in US?
How long have you been in Managerial capacity?
Asked my wife,
how long were we married?>
Where did the marriage take place?
Asked for the Original marriage certificate?

These were the questions
After that, she told passport will be couriered to my office.

That was the total exp

L1-B VISA approved
Hi All,

Thanks to this site and all the folks who added their experience. This really helped me to prepare and understand what actually the VO expects.

My L1-B VISA interview was on 30th Sep 2008 and the VISA got approved.
These are the questions asked
1. Who is your client?
2. What are you doing for them?
3. How long you have been working for this client?
4. What is your role?
5. Your special knowledge?

That’s it. She signed some papers and gave me the pink slip. Then she said that I will receive my passport through courier
