blue slip document for L1
Hi,
I have attended L1 interview at chennai on August 13.
VO asked couple of questions and he give me blue slip stating that visa is not clearly approved under section 8 CFR. he asked me to show this to company HR.
Can some body please help me what does this blue slip means. is it rejection or pending. if pending how long will it take. whether can we proceed with this Visa or do we need need apply a new visa. Please help me.
Here are the VO asked me.
1) How long you are with present company and what is total exp.
2) what is your specialized skills
3) what are you going to do.
4) Are you going to any customer or company.
for the last question I said, I wll be working for my parent company not to any customer. But during go-live phases, I might need present at customer locations. that is what written in my cover letter. He was looking at this point in my cover letter and checking in his computer and finally he gave me this blue slip and asked me to show it HR.

BL1 Visa - Got Blue Slip 221(g) at Chennai Consulate.
Hello All,
I went for BL1 US visa interview on August 13th and I didn't get through the visa interview.
I was given a blue slip 221(g). Following is the reason quoted in slip.
"Your blanket L-1 application is not clearly approvable under section 8 CFR 214.2 (I) (ii) (D) and INA 101(a)(15)(L)"
I am confused now as I don't know what should be my next course of action. Can I apply for B-L1 again? or I should go for R-L1?
Please share your similar experiences/suggestions.

we got our blanket L1A(for my husband) and L2(for me) approved in Chennai on August 11th. In our case as both of us have travelled to US before individually our interview lasted for less than 5 mins.
VO : Good Morning
We : Good Afternoon (it was already 12:15 by then)
VO : yes yes Good afternoon (looking at clock)
VO(to DH) : how many years have you worked in ZZZ
DH : XX years
VO(to me) : Where have u been when visted US last time ??
me : XX
VO(to me) : Did u enjoyed there ??
Me : yes
VO(to DH) : how many ppl are working under you currently ?
DH : xx
and then golden words came...
Some tips from my experience
1) try to go only 1/2 hr before ur interview. No point of in going early.. you need to wait in the road under hot sun
2) though my interview was scheduled at 10:15 I was able to meet the VO at 12:15. so plan your return trips accordingly with required buffer time...
3) Don't take anything except documents inside.. I saw the security asking a lady before me to throw out tablets to the road. (in case u have a baby, she allows milk bottle etc etc)

My Blanket L1 (also L2 for my wife) got approved on Aug 6th 2008. First of all thanks to this website and users who posted their experiences. This helps a lot....My appt time is at 07:15 AM. I reached there by 06:45. By that time, there is a very long queue. Allowed inside by 07:15. First, VFS guys verified the documents and took the finger prints. Later, we were asked to go to other building. Blanket L1 candidates need to pay a DD worth 23k. Cash counter opens at 08:00 AM and hence all BL1 candidates (around 20-25) waited till 08:00, paid the fees and proceeded for main interview. We are asked to proceed to counter no.8. Most of the members in my Queue are BL1's from BEP companies. She is asking common same questions to everyone. Imp questions::::
Since how long you are working for XYZ?
What are you going to do at Onsite?
what is the specialized knowledge you have?
How many members at onsite?
why can't they do the work?
Why can't work be done from offshore?
How long you are with this client?
If the client is not a reputed one, then she is asking some details abt the client.
When they ask for specialized knowledge, please dont mention C,C++,ORACLE,PL/SQL and all generic terms.....Also, never mention support or maintenance. I saw few rejections based on this. Be cool and confident while giving answers and prepare forehand with answers for all the above questions.....that helps a lot...I wish all the best to everyone...

We had our L1 and L2 interview yesterday 04-Aug-2008,12:45PM in Chennai Consulate.We were at consulate by 12:15 PM and we went inside.At the entry, they check your passport and Appointment Letter. [ we were amazed by the level of security ]
Then document checking followed and after that we were asked to enter main building. There we waited for 1 more hour before entering the interview queue.
At last out turn came.Here are the questions:
[1] who is your client?
[2] which kind of project is it?
[3] If you dont have prior experience with this client, how are they sending you?
Visa Officer didnt even check any dependant's docs.He happily too our passports for stamping.
Based on my experience I say that if we can give reasonable answers to officer's questions,he should not have any issues for granting Visa.I am confident but some until the final golden words came, I was not alright.
Just make sure your documents are exhaustive and your photos are as per specifications.And He is there above all of us.

I had my L1 blanket visa interview on 28th july at chennai... My interview was scheduled at 9AM but I reached there 20 mins before and I was asked to allow inside at 8.40 itself.
They have done the security check and asked me to go to the counter for finger scanning.
he has taken all my documents and arrabged in order and given back the file to me.
then VFS guy asked me to go to the next building to deposit the DD.
there were many rejection when i was standing in the for interview (3 people got rejected before me) then my interviw came
