Visa approved L1-B
Hi,
This is Eknath from Pune wants to share my experience about L1-B processing.
My interview was scheduled on 24th June at window 8 in Mumbai.VO asked me following questions
1) Are you from "ZZZ" company ?
2) How long you have been with YYYY ?
3) What is your salary ?
4) What you are going to do in US ?

I answered those questions not more that 2-3 sentences.

She signed form I129-S and return back to me.
Then golden words came your visa is approved and you will get passport in 2-3 working days.

Surprisingly I got my passport on next day at 11-00 am in my office at Pune.

Suggestions:Be cool,All VO's are experienced people they are there to give you VISA.
And last but not least Have a faith on GOD.

Best of luck !!

L1B Blanket Approved
Hi All,

I had my Visa interview on 23rd June 2008. I went to consulate around 11:30 since appointment was at 12:15.. After initial document verification and finger print scan, I was asked to go to building 2 for interview and DD deposit.
I was waiting patiently for my turn for interview. I was just asked 4 questions..they were
1. How long i am with my company
2. WHich client
3. How long with this client
4. What i do for this client

After this, VO told me my VISA is approved.

All the best to candidates.
This site was of immense help to me.

L1 Ind and L2 Visa Experience
Hi All,

My interview was scheduled on 20th of June at 11.00 in the morning..went there at 10.30..allowed me and my wife inside after checking the forms outside..went for pre screening ( finished in 5 mts for finger prints)..after that there was a que for BEP quota, we stood there for 15 minutes for our turn..prior to us Visa officer was keen on asking questions if she has doubts on the case..I was mentally prepared for questions..infact it helped me a bit..
Finally my turn came..these were the questions asked :
01. How long you were with the Company?
02. Will you work for Client or the Company?
03. What exactly is your nature of work?
04. Give me your original Marriage Certificate

Spouse was asked only one question..did you study as well?

Thats it..Visa officer told me I am issuing a visa to United States :-)

Even I went through this site before facing interview..thot of posting our experience..

Good Luck all..Trust my words they will listen to you..they are not strict...

Dear All,

First of all thanks to this forum which helped me prepare and understand what the VO expects when applying for a particular category.

My appointment was 12PM on 17th June, it took around 4 and half hours to complete the whole thing. Went inside at 11:30 and came out at 4PM.

The actual picture on the ground is not that rosy. Pleaes be prepared for rejections as I saw that many got rejected in front of me.

I would say if u r not prepared properly ur chances are 50:50 only.

My suggestion if u r going on BL1 spend some time on why only u qualify for this role and what is ur specialization which others in the industry don't have.

If u yourself r convinced then u will be able to convince VO and visa is urs.

My thing went on like this:
Self: Hello Sir, how r u doing today?
VO: No much response
VO: So u r going on blanket.
Self: Yes
VO: What is ur specialization?
Self: I specialize on tools developed my company, and domains so and so.
VO: How much time u r with this client?
Self: 2months but worked on similiar project for other client.
VO: How much time with previous customer of similar project.
Self: 4 Months
VO: OK have fun.

And that's it, it paid for 4 hours standing and no lunch.

L1 individual and L2
I went with my wife for the visa interview at Chennai on Friday the 13th. I had a good experience. Let me assure all you guys 80% of things are already done before the interview and the interview does not have much weight. You would know before hand that your L1 will be approved or not. Let me metion some tips.
* If you dont have a degree in IT or comp science and if you are from some IT firm then NEVER apply under blanket visa. Always go for individual and if possible ask your company to apply under premium processing as this will increase the weight of your petition also.
* Go with all the documents, letters, experience letter, marriage certificate etc.
* If you have more than 1 year of experience in the current company then you should be confident that there will be less problem.
* Answer in minimum number of words
* Dont show any signs of nervousness.

They asked following quesstions to me.
1. How long you have been working with your current company ?
Ans. 3 Years 1 month

2. How long you have been married ?
Ans. 4 months.

3. Where will you work in US ?
Ans. California.

Thats it.

Individual approved petition is a strong one. and if you dont have any criminal case against you in the US then you will surely get the visa.

Good luck to all..

L1b Blanket Approved
Hi Folks,

I had my Interview in the Last week. You can not find the questions other than that are given in this site. just read out all the experiences of ppl who got their Visa approved.

The Questions asked were
1. what is u r client?
2.what is your Experience in u r company?
3.what is your Project
4. what is your Role?
5. Explain about the Project?

All are quiet comfortable...for the last question reg explaining about the Project...Pls answer it in not more than 2 sentances...Like My project name is "blah blah" and the purpose is for "blah blah" and do not tell them the work we are doing in "technical" words.

I got a strange experience as Consulate chief came out and talked with us as one person who applied for L-Blanket...He is just litterally shouting at the VO and his voice is audiable to around 100 people....So as i expected his Visa got rejected and his interview went for around 15 minutes and so many questions were asked. After the VO told him that Visa is rejected then he asked her the reason for the rejection and to specify the documents needed to be produced loudly.

Then the President came out after their conversation and told us that "Pls Greet the VO and then listen the questions care fully and let visa officer do his work rather than extending the answers. Even the Visa is rejected just say "Thank u " and leave the consulate and you can show the reqd documentation and get the Visa again.

So....Guys.....Stay Cool and Patient and have a nice smile on your face....That's it Visa is urs. We are not attending a Technical Interview and is for a formal explaination for the tour details.

Cheers and all the Best,
Nag.

L1 B Blanker Fresh Petition
Thanks to the folks who keeps this forum active. it helped me a lot to prepare myself for my L1B interview

I had my interview on Jun 13, 2008 at 09:30 AM in Chennai

I had only below questions

How long you are working for this company ?
Who is your client ?

and asked my wife

How long you both are married ?

thats it after that he told that your visa is approved.

some questions which I heard while standing in the queue

1) What is your domain ?
2) What is your role in this project ?
3) Who is your reporting manager ?
4) What are your specialized skills ?
5) Explain your specialized skills ?
6) Tell me about your project ?
7) What is your client's business?
8) How many people are working in your company?
9) How many people in your project?

As soon as you enter the consulate you will have security check after that there are many counters for pre-screening of documents.

There will be a person to guide which queue you have to stand.

Handover the folder to the person in the counter he will verify and sort the documents

[ Facilities available to take photos inside the consulate if the photo attached in DS156 didn't meet the standards]

You have to proceed to Building 2 to pay the cheque then you will stand in the queue for interview

Suggesstions

As soon as you reach the counter say Hello with a smile
Listen the question carefully before answering the question
Answer very crisp, clear and to the point. No need for big big paragraphs
Speak slowly and clearly
Whatever be the outcome just say THANKS and walk out.

ALL THE BEST

Hi all ,
My interview was on 11th june morning 7-30AM .
I reached my counter only by 9-30AM.
They asked only 3 quesions for me
1) How long you are working in this company
2) which domain you are working in
3) wat are you going to do in US

by the time im answering my 3rd quesions she started typing in her computer and i understood that im won it.

Suggesions
-----------
They can reject L1b VISA for 3 reasons
1) you should be a degree holder ( >= 4 yrs )
2) you should be with the same company / client for more than 1 year
3) you should have specialized skill ( as L1b is intra company transfer )

definitely first 2 will be clear for all IT guys. so , they can reject only with 3rd quesion.

to succeed 3 rd quesion , you have to just communicate Properly ( they are not technical persons, so u can bluff them. but be confident in what u say )

Understand the quesion and answer it in short.
VISA will be yours..

Thanks to folks who started this blog...
ALL THE BEST

Cheers
Hari
