L1 - Blanket
First of all thanks for everyone who sharing their experience in this forum. It gave me a idea about the interview and confident to attend the interview without fear.
A lady VO officer interviewed the questions are very simple and she dont expect stories. she expected the answers in single lines when start explain more about my project, she showed her han to stop and that is enough. The questios are
VO: greeted me.(smiles)
VO:How long you are with this company
VO: Project Name?
VO:client Name?
VO:which Domain?
Vo: Whats your role there?
Vo: she told me to wait in the chairs kept there...
i thought something wrong in my doc she is going to reject. after 5 mins she searched me in the waiting area through counter and signaled me to come.
VO:she returne some forms and she told me you will get your passport within a week.
Me: Thank you (smiled).
i didnt propperly answered. even i taken few seconds to tell my client name.
if you are going by your company. then no need to worry. you should not miss any documents .
Photographs with specs is not allowed.

L1 Experience...
Hi All,
This site was very informative for me 2 prepare for my L1 stamping. I had my appointment on 03/14/2008 at 11:15 AM. I had reached consulate by 10:30 AM and allowed inside. Within half hour, I was in visa lobby after my finger prints were taken in first building. VO asked just three questions as 1. How long ur working 4 ur company? 2. What is ur project ur going 2 work on? 3.Why u have been selected from ur team?

L1 Blanket -- Electronics background
Hi All,
Thanks for everyone sharing there experience. It helped me a lot. I have done BE in E&C but my company created blanket petation. I was every much worried that my VISA will not get approved becoz of my educatinal backgroud. Initialy i thought L1 Blanket is only for Computer science background. After reading the posting and gathering info from other site i got the confidence that i will get thru in the interview.
I was well prepared for all type of questions that VO may ask. This is how it went thru..
VO: Hello Good Afernoon,
ME: Afternooon Sir, How are doing?
VO: Doing Good.Well which project your working for?
ME: YYYY XX
VO: From how my months your are working for this project?
ME: XX Months
Thats it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then he started the writing something in his computer and then he asked me to put right index finger for scanning.
Then he said you are all set the fly and UR visa is approved. Carry the these to documents are the port of entry.
I was really surprise...I was expecting few more questions form him...but it didnt happen..
I suggestion is .
1) Make sure all the documents are in place and in right order. With out any spelling mistake.
2) Dress well
3) Be confident
4) Smile ;) and greet the office
5) Beleive GoD!

L1 Blanket visa Experience

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. This is the excellent site for the people who are attending the visa interviews. I was attended on 6th march 2008 for L1B and got the visa approval.
My interview was in chennai. My interview was scheduled as 9:45AM. My interview was over within 3-4 minutes. When i approached the interviewer, i was bit tensed. My interview went like this;
Me: Good Morning
VO: Good Morning. How are you?
Me: Ya i am fine. How about u?
VO: Good. How long are you working for cuurent company?
Me: Xyrs Xmonths
VO: Who is your client?
Me: XYZ Client
VO: How long are u working for your client?
Me: Xyrs Xmonths
Vo: What specialized knowledge do you have?
Me: I mentioned tools name etc...
Vo: Where you going to stay in US?
Me: blah.. blah..
Vo: your visa is issued
Me: Thank you..
Vo: you will receive your passport within 1 week and have a nice journey.
Me: Thank you very much...
It was pretty cool. Be calm & cool. Defenietly visa will be approved for all. VISA is yours only, they wont reject without proper reason.

L2A Experience at Chennai
Interview was at 12.15pm reached consulate at 11.30pm. Had a problem with my daughter's photograph. Went to VFS collection centre to take the snap in transportation arranged by VFS.
Q1. From which university your husband graduated?
Q2. In which hospital your daughter is born?
Q3. Where your husband is born?
Q4. Which city you will be going to?
I got the visa after answering the questions, the Q3, Q4 are unexpected though ;-).

On December 3'rd 2007 i had my interview scheduled at chennai consulate at 02:00 Pm.
This site has really a lot of valuable info which will help a lot.Thanks to the info shared.
I went in early by 12:30 Pm itself, as soon as prescreening and finger print were over, i was asked to stand in the interview queue.
Here when standing in the queue just see those who are attending, which queue's interviewer is asking less no of questions and try to accomodate in that line.
The following quaestions were asked to me...

Con: Explain about your project?

Signed on the I129S papers and said you will receive your Passport in a Week Duration, Keep the 2 sets of copies of I129S with you and show that at port of Entry, All the best

L1-B Visa Approval
Thanks a lot. This site me helped me a lot to be cool and face my interview successfully.
I had L1B interview on 23rd Jan. My inteview was scheduled at 11:15. I reached at 10:30. After security check, I was guided to one of the counters for verification of my documents. After that they scanned my all 10 fingers.
There was lot of crowd on that day. I was waiting for my turn for more than an hour to go into main building, where interview counters will be there. Based on scheduled time, they were calling batches of pepole. Before that, I sat next to exit, which is opposite to counter no.1. I saw all smiling faces, which boosted my confidence level. Finally my turn has come and a I followed a batch of ppl & went into main building.
The time was around 12:30. One VO was giving a lecture to all the ppl on how to face the interview. He has been working in the same field since last 9 yrs. Few points by that VO to be taken care.
1. Be clear, while answering the VO questions
2. Put the ans as short, as possible
3. Be cool....and no need to concentrate on confidence part because VO has time hardly to read the face feelings, unless you are not clear in ans or do something wrong.
Then I was guided to my one of the counters. Even though lot of crowd is there, for L1 visa there was a short queue. 4 ppl were there in Q before me. With that atmosphere and VO's above instructions made me to be cooooool. All 4 ppl got approval. Then my turn has come:
VO : Hello ....How are you doing
Me : I am fine sir. How are you doing?
No reply..asked me to hand over the documents
VO : Since how long you are working with XYZ company
Me : X.Y yrs
VO : What do you do for your company?
Me : I xplained my role and job in 2 sentences
VO : Are you going to work for a client at onsite?
Me : Yes
VO : Who is your client?
Me : xyz
VO : What is your project?
Me : xplained...
VO : How many ppl are there at onsite and offshore?
Me : x at onsite and y at offshore
Then, he asked me to hand over the support letter from company and my certificates. He was keenly looked into the documents for 1 min.
He asked me to place the right hand middle finger.
Then golden words had come.
VO: Your visa is approved and you'll get it in one week.
Me : ThanQ sir
All the best guys... This site was very helpful for the preparation.. There wont be much questions.. VOs are there to issue Visa and they are very friendly..So guyz... Be coooooool and clear while talking to VO ...That's all..
