Request
Hi,

I would also request people who have not got the L1 visa to share their experiences. Pls mention your qualification also. I heard that a number of Blanket L1-B's are getting rejected because of lack of IT/Comps degrees.

MY idea is to let the people know the reasons why some L1 Visas are getting rejected.

Who ever has got rejected, please take it easy. There are many countries where you can go and make a successful career.

She told me put your left hand middle finger, i kept , then golden word she said

L1-B Visa interview at Chennai on 19th May 2008
Hi All,

Thanks for all the forum members who has posted their experiences.

I have gone through this forum 2 days before my appointement.
My Appointment was at 12.15PM. Ihave entered the consulate at 11.45AM. Intially my application and passport were verified by VFS people. Then I was asked to proceed to second building. There at counter no: 12 my DD has been taken by the Cashier and stappled the receipts to the application and asked me to stand in the line.
I was in line till 2.00 PM then my turn came. At 2.00 PM all the Visa Officers left the counter saying they will be back in a short while. Then the VFS person came and told us that all VOs have some meeting and they will be back in 30 minutes and we were asked take seats. I sat till 3.00PM then VOs returned. Again we have formed the queue and now i was the third person.
Now my turn came. The lady in the counter no: 4 asked me to come.
I went there and the discussion started.

VO: Good Afternoon
Me: Very Good Afternoon. How are you?
VO: Fine. How about You?
Me: Doing Good
VO: Since how long you have been working with YY Company
Me: 18 Months
VO: What is your Project in US?
Me: My Project was ZZZ, explained in 3 sentences
VO: Since how long you have working current Project?
Me: Since 18 Months
VO: What is that you are going to do in US?
Me: We are customizing the tool as per client requirements and we are integrating our proprietary tools tool1 and tool2 with currently developed application so i will be majorly involved in Integration Testing and System Testing
VO: What is the Testing Team Size?
Me: 8
VO: Leaving aside all other team members why you were proposed? What speciality you have?
Me: I was involded in this project since inception of it and I was exclusively trained on our Proprietary tools and i am coordinating between onsite and offshore teams I was choosen for this and more over I am a Certified Test Manager and Certified Software Test Engineer. This what special I am.

By this VO started putting stamps on the documents I have given.

Then the golden words came. "Your VISA has been approved and you will receive your passport in 3 working days".
I thanked her and came out of the consulate happily.

Patience really matters there. My tension got eased by looking at the children playing around. Keep cool. Dont get panic. Listen carefully to the VO. Answer confidently, you will get your VISA.

Best Regards,

First of all, Let me thank to all who have contributed their experience through this portal, because this is the guide for visa interview.
There was a long queue when I went for the interview. It took nearly three hours for whole process.
Here are my suggestions,
1.No need to go too early to the consulate, max reach the consulate before 30 mins of interview.
2.No need to take tension.
3.Listen to the questions carefully and answer appropriately. Shouldnot be more than few sentences.
4.You will have helping hands at each step for your convenience.
5.All documents are required just in case, but mostly nobody is going to go through all your documents.
6.Need to Say Hello with smile when you go to each counter.
7.Dont get panic if they ask you to retake the finger prints. Its just in case your finger prints not captured properly at first counter.

Thanks & Regards,
Soms

VISA interview at Chennai
Hi,
Thanks alot for this group. I have read through all the sections and experience that are in this forum. I was just asked 3 questions:
1) how long are with your xxx company?
2) how long are you in this project?
3) whats your total experience?

Thats all my VISA was issued...

But i could capture some rare questions were being asked for the person who just went before me.
1) Tell me about your family?
2) whats your family's annual income?
3) what if i dont give you the visa today?
4) why didnt you study MS/M.Tech?
Be prepared and face them without fear .. you are done .. all the best.
