L1A - Individual - Approved at Chennai consulate
A million thanks to the one and only forum which has abundant information to all our visa queries / experiences and trackers. My experience is as follows:

1) Which visa are u applying for
2) Which location are you going to travel
3) Are you going to work from client side
4) Who will you report to
5) How many direct reportees
6) How many indirect reportees
7) Whats your salary

To my wife

1) How long have you been married
2) How old is the child

NOTE - Key takeaway of my experience is that salary within range of 80K - 90K USD will not affect the approval of your visa.

I have read upto 100 pages in this forum. Thanks again! I wish all other aspirants good luck !

L1A Blanket - Manager Query

I work for American MNC in India and is applying for L1A Blanket Visa for me. Currently I am a Senior Manager and I have one Direct report in India and i manage many indirect reports example other managers on project basis, approximately 3 projects at one time hence assuming 8-10 people on every project who i manage to accomplish tasks however do not supervise them on regular basis.

I am being offered a Senior Manager Role in US with $xxx salary and one time relocation as well. I will continue to manage people in US as well on Project basis ~10-12 people from various teams example Technology, Capability enhancement, training delivery etc.

What kind of questions do you expect in L1A Blanket visa interview? Is the visa officer going to question how many direct reports i manage in India and / or in US? Is there a minimum wage requirement for L1A?

I have a previous L1B approved in 2016 to which i applied extension back in 2016 and got a RFE post which we pulled back the extension not to have a mark on my record for future cases and didn't responded to RFE.
I also have 10yr B1/B2 approved untill 2026.

L1A Doubt
Hi Friends, I see that many have posted that Blanket L1 is disadvantageous and L1 Individual is more safe. Why is that the case? In case of Blanket L1, isn't it that the credentials of the employer is already established? Shouldn't that be an advantage?

L1A - Manager - Doubt
Hi,

I have a L1A consular appointment next week, and I was wondering if salary is a requirement. My employer would cover all my living expenses in the US - Housing, Meals and other daily expenses. In addition to that my home country salary would continue to be paid (which is just over minimum wage of USD 30K). I have 6 direct reports.

Will salary be a concern / red-flag during the appointment ?

Thanks.

Help needed for L1A Blanket Interview
Hello,

I am expecting to receive my I129S and I-797 from my immigration attorney in USA. I am being processed for L1A Blanket Visa.

My profile is as follows:

I am Senior Manager in India with a well-known MNC in Power Sector. I have been working for them for past 6.6 years and have a overall work experience of 14 years. I am in to Project management function and do not have direct reportees. I manage project teams and I have the overall responsibility of the project delivery including financials. I am getting transferred as Sr. Project manager and will handle similar function in USA without any direct reportee.

My Salary is 1XX USD + XX,ZZZ bonus + family health and dental benefits. Will also be getting one time relocation benefit.

I am wondering if the profiles fits the requirement for functional manager as I do execute certain activities pertaining to project management.

Will appreciate the suggestion from the forum members.

Thanks in anticipation.

Wishing all the members, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!

L1 A Visa Interview Experience
Biometric
The biometric appointment was very simple and there was no issue. They asked for biometric (10 fingers) of my spouse and myself only. They did not take biometric for my daughter as she is not yet 14 years. They took snaps of all three of us.

Visa Interview
. For the Visa interview we were at the US Consulate at 10 AM as my visa interview was scheduled at 10.45 AM. Waited in the road for half an hour and at 10.30 AM they asked us to form a line and at sharp 10.45 AM they asked us to enter the consulate
. At entrance we had a security check, they did not allow any electronic devices including analog watches
. Post security check, as we entered the next room, they asked about my Visa type and I mentioned that it was L1 A Individual Visa. There was a long queue, but they asked us to skip the queue and enter the opposite building
. As we went to the opposite building, they asked me again about my Visa type and there again they checked my passport and finger prints. Post that they asked us to go to the lobby where there was another queue.
. When we went to the lobby, they asked us for my visa type and when I mentioned that it was L1 A Visa type, they asked us to skip the queue again and stand in the front of the line
. At the front of the line an executive asked us to go to a counter for the interview.
. We were next in line and there was another candidate (student visa going through her interview)
. The student visa was approved after a round of questions
. When our turn came, we went to the counter with a greeting and the lady on the other side was quite pleasant in her discussions
. She asked me to provide our passports and i797 petition documents
. Below are set of questions asked:
Are you applying for L1 A Visa?
Is YYYY Corporation your employer?
What do they do?
How long have you been working with ZZZ?
Are you an Associate Director?
What is your highest degree of qualification?
What is your salary in US?
How many Direct Reports?
How many In-Direct Reports?
Whom have you brought with you today?

At this point I introduced by wife and daughter to her and she asked two questions to them. They are:
How long have you been married? – Question to my wife
How many you children do you have? – Question to me
How old are you? – Question to my daughter

Post that she typed few things on her computer and mentioned that my Visa is approved.
