Please Note:- As per instructions received from Government of India, due to technical upgrades, processing of OCI applications at all CKGS Visa Application Centers and Embassy/Consulates will be DELAYED until further notice. The NIC system is currently experiencing some technical issues. The Embassy is working with the authorities in NIC to restore the system at the earliest. Applicants are requested to please bear with the inconvenience.

Creating this thread for tracking the OCI application in SFO. Thought would be helpful to share the info:
I have applied for OCI for my Minor Kid and details below:
March 01 - Application ‘Received’ by CKGS and 'Not Verified'.
March 01 - Application Verification is ‘Complete’.
March 05 - Application is ‘Under Process’ at CKGS.
March 05 - Application is 'In Transit' to the Consulate.
March 07 - Application is 'Under Process' at Consulate for decision making.
March 12 - Passport 'Reviewed' by Consulate and is ‘In Transit’ to CKGS Application Centre.
March 12 - Passport picked up by FedEx.

OCI Pending ... for a really long Time
Hi all,
I applied for my OCI (Spouse of Indian) on Oct 9th (2017) in Chicago along my son, date of Ack : Oct 11th), my son got it in around 6 weeks after (same supporting documents) iso n November.
Mid December, I have been asked for a notarized copy of my wife passport (that we provided to the Indian consulate the next day by email (was not needed for my son ... weird no ?)
and since, am in the dark ...
The Documents Printing Status is UNDER-PROCESS for months ... I have been mailing and calling the Indian Consulate in Chicago several times, seems more than 30 applications from Chicago are "stuck" in India, they don't have any ETA, and the only thing to do is to wait.
Very frustrating ....

The problem with this whole process it is unnecessary and complex First fill out information at CKGS than go to India Website fill out more information, upload documents required ( digital , photo and signature in specifi byte size( what a pain) upload oci card copy and us passport copy. get a referance number from India website and go back to CKGS and enter it there to match. Fill out some more information and print the form. Print the check list, payment information from CKGS website. Send it in UPS and wait.

OCI in lieu of PIO - Washington DC
Finally done with it. I had two application for minors and both followed the same path. Only one application got updated with MEA processed date. Overall good experience here except that it is frustratingly slow. With DC Embassy/CKGS, It will take the full length of processing time estimate.
