Newborn OCI SFO (almost 10 weeks)
Overall, took about 10 weeks. Couple frustrating aspects. They were very particular about photo. It took 3 weeks for the card to get to SF after it was mailed from Delhi.

OCI Update - Washington DC
Just share my experience on our OCI application at Wahignton DC. Processing time at DC is slow compared to other embassy locations. (Application send Feb 15th - OCI received April 28th). One good thing is we do not need to send the passport for that painful MATCH UP process.

I am not sure if I made a mistake. I completed the initial application at CKGS website and then proceeded onto completing application at Gov. of India website. Not knowing all the details, I had some missteps and thus did not keep track of temporary ID provided by gov of India website. How do I link 2 applications between CKGS and India?

OCI + Renunciation for Adult, NY
Pathetic experience so far. No update till now since April 24th. CKGS escalated twice since 24th. They even said a super will call me and no one called. Every time you call them, they give you the standard answer - Please wait for two business days. Suckers. $450 is outrageous for this level of service. Anyone with similar experience? P.S. Before you ask, I've sent my US passport along with my application :).

OCI in Lieu of PIO
Wondering if you need to the send the original US Passport in the 2nd step for OCI in lieu of PIO? The CKGS site checklist doesn't list US Passport, but has a foot note "Note : US Passport with 'U' Sticker. This is only applicable if you have the same." which is very confusing.
