OCI Card

I submitted application in Thanksgiving week, and even with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year holidays i got OCI card in 55 days.

However OCI card dispatch took17 days to reach Chicago from Delhi .. which was a surprise to me. Here is the timeline.

**Note : Now there is no match process any more.

I have had good experience applying for the OCI card, I applied for my son Dec 8th 2016 and received it today 1/18/17, with no hitches. I was able to track the application, during the time it was processing. I had been apprehensive about the whole process before applying, but thankfully there were no issues.

I applied OCI for my daughter in Oct-2016 and see was approved and sent from Delhi on Nov-23. I see no status on CKGS after this. When I contacted them several times they mentioned due to change in matchup process currently the card is held in USA embassy (SFO) and not sure of the timeline when they deliver it.

Has any one experience this issue / aware of the process & approx timeline to expect the card?

Does anyone know why CKGS charges for 2 envelopes from your address to them while we send them just one envelope initially with out documents ? Is the 2nd envelope for the match up process ? Is the match process still applicable and followed ?

CKGS NY Sent someone else OCI card for my daughter, I returned that OCI card to them. I registered a case with CKGS customer service. They are still not able to trace my daughter's OCI card.
They arranged a visa for my daughter to travel to India, that too after many phone calls and 3 visits to their NYC office.
it is been 30 days since I registered a complaint, still there is no response.
I don't know to whom I should report this to get my daughter's OCI card.

I sent a tweet to Sushma swaraj, assuming that she would act. but seems they are busy with working on publicity cases than these.

Hello Folks,

I applied for OCI for my son last year and in middle of november I got the match up process request. But due to some emergency I had to travel to India in Nov/Dec so I could not send the documents for match up. Now I called ckgs on 5th Jan2017 and the representative told me that the match up process no longer exists. He wasn't sure what is going to happen my case so he opened a service request for me to ask his manager. He has not responded back to me yet.

Has anyone been in the same situation? Anyone knows what is the new process?

I have applied for my 2 month old child's new oci application to chicago office. I sent my application via Fedex on 29th Dec 2016 and I got the email on 30th Dec that application is received.

On 2nd Jan 2017, ckgs was closed so I checked my status on Tuesday 3rd Jan 2017 in my account and "Received" status turned green (symbol for true) and on Jan 3rd around 1:00 PM there was a status update that your application verification is "complete". Processing of your application will continue. But the "Verification" step symbol did not turn green as "Received" state did. "Verification" step symbol is still red with exclamatory mark.

Since then till today, 6th Jan there is no update in status. I did not receive any email from ckgs after "package received email".

I am worried because in this thread I can see that almost everyone's application reached to embassy in 3-4 days after the package received state.

Did anyone else encountered such thing ? Please share your thoughts, I am little worried as I don't have any clue in which state my application is right now and do they need anything from my end.

I have applied for OCI for my daughter but looks like it won't arrive by the time we need to travel. So I am planning to get Visa for her and travel with that. Since OCI match-up will come while we are in India, I am wondering how low would I have to send the passport after the match-up email arrives. We will be in India for two months. I am worried that they may send the OCI card back to India during this time which would cause unnecessary complications.

Anyone has any experiences in this regard?
