Sent N-400 first then I-751
Hi guys,

I have question does anyone know if I will have combo interview or separate interviews for n-400 and I-751? I applied for naturalization on March 18,20 based on military service but my conditional GC expires in a two months so I also applied for remove condition on April 23,20.

Thank you,

Preparing to Reopen on or after June 4.
On March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services temporarily suspended in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). USCIS is readying offices to reopen on or after June 4. Employees in these offices are continuing to perform mission-essential services that do not require face-to-face contact with the public while the offices are closed.

N400 Interview Scheduling
Applied in Feb, waiting for interview.

Estimated case completion time: 2 months

Estimated wait time (for the next step): "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." This is the new status after the countdown had run out. Yesterday, it was saying 1 day left until the next step. This is just another datapoint: They are not yet scheduling n400 interviews. So this means that both the est. case completion time, and wait time counters, are completely useless - they are not using them anymore.

Hope this helps.

Citizenship process vs unemployment benefits
Hi,

We have applied for Citizenship this January, did finger print and then we were waiting for the interview to be scheduled. Since now we have Covid-19, my wife lost her job.
Can she apply for unemployment benefits? Does that affect anything with the Citizenship process. We as a green card holders are supposed not to use state benefits, right?

Does that matter? Any experience on that?
When we applied in January, on the application, it was not asked if we have used benefits?!

Any help is highly appreciated!
Thanks a lot

Joint taxes filing
Hi all,
Hope you are keeping safe in this pandemic.
I have a question, Me and my partner have been filing joint taxes for the past 4 years. This year we realized that if we file jointly, we wont be eligible to receive the stimulus checks but if we file separately, he will be eligible to get his stimulus check.
We are currently waiting our I-751 and N400 interview. If we file our taxes for 2019 separately, would that impact the applications negatively or can we just tell them the truth in the interview that we filled separately for him to be eligible to get his stimulus check (which is the actual case right now).

Thank you for your help.

N400
Hello all,

I just received my 10 years green card and I am applying for citizenship in 2 weeks. What is the timeline for the whole process? How does it look like for someone e-filing from Los Angeles?

Thank you and stay safe!

N400 Approved/ in Lockdown in EU/ possible breaking of cont. residency/ help please
Hello everyone! My apologies if I post this in a wrong section.
I need your help, please!
Namely, my n400 was approved in the end of the February- yeeey!, Oath scheduled/rescheduled for March 19th ( Los Angeles field office). Now, in December 2019 I went on vacation ( longer one, 3 months planed), however I never get back to the States due to corona situation. So, my question is:

What if I stay longer that 6 months and less than a year abroad? Will that affect my oath ceremony in any way? ( in a normal circumstances it would, but these are not usual circumstances)

P.s my flight was rescheduled 4 times, so I have all of that on file. Also, I have ticket for May 21st ( which will be less than 6 months abroad). However, if something happen and airline again change ticket, or if I hypothetically decide to stay in my home country until August due to this situation, how that will affect my oath ceremony ( online account says- estimated completion time , June 2020). What is your recommendation? Is there someone in a similar situation?

Thank you so much and stay safe and healthy!
