Expedited Oath Ceremony
Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask if anyone had successfully requested to expedite their oath ceremony for the San Francisco field office and what the experience was like?

I am currently scheduled for my interview in the first week of July 2019, however I am planning on studying abroad starting the third week of August 2019 and the program will last for 6 months. I checked the Paramount Theater schedule for the oath ceremonies and it says that there will be ceremonies held in July 17 and August 14. Unfortunately, I do not think that having the oath ceremony in August 14 would be enough time for me to apply for a passport and visa as I will be leaving the week after.

Would there be any chance for me to ask my IO to move my oath ceremony to the July 17 ceremony during the interview? I have also written the office for a expedite request about 3 weeks ago, but I have not received a response yet.

Thanks for you help in advance!

N-400 (Selective Service Registration)
Hello All,

As I shared in my post below my interview is scheduled in early July, 2019. They have asked me to bring any evidence of Selective Service Registration. However, I did not enroll in SSR since I got my GC when I was 24 years and 350 days. And according to SSR rules you do not have to register if you became a resident after 25 years of age. By the time I realized I needed to enroll I was past the deadline to enroll.

Will this become a problem for me in the citizenship interview, because I did not enroll in SSR? Because technically the GC card did not arrive until a few days before my 25th birthday.

Thank you for your help!

Interview Scheduled Letter Received
Hello,

Firstly I would like to let everyone know that even though the website said Interview Date ( March 2020), I received a letter for an interview which is scheduled in early July.

Even though I applied to the Philadelphia office (original application location for GC) they automatically scheduled my interview in Washington DC office. I did not request any address change but for some reason they must have checked my employment letters and rescheduled it. It is better for me since I live in DC.

Here is my timeline:
1) Application: Jan 1st week, 2019
2) Biometrics: Feb 1st week, 2019
3) Interview Scheduled Letter: June 1st week, 2019
4) Interview: Early July, 2019

I just wanted to share this to everyone who have been worried about their tentative dates getting pushed by few months online. Please remember online data is just an estimate of all the pending applications.

No estimated date of completion online
Hi everyone,

I’m curious. I had June 2019 as my completion date when I had my interview. At the interview, I was told that they needed to review my application. 2 weeks after my interview, there is no longer an estimated completion date on my account online. Has anyone else experienced this? What does it mean? Did they disapprove my petition? Or do I just wait indefinitely?

Interview time is odd
Hello beautiful people, I have some questions please! My interview for citizenship will be Saturday the 15.
1. It is on a Saturday, at 12:30. Is it a weird day to you guys? Government will have interview for people on Saturday?
2. When I fill the N-400 form, I have my year of working wrong, is it a major error? And when will the perfect time for me to tell the IO about that?
Thank you in advance.

N400 Dallas, TX with Name Change
Hello There,

First of all I wanna thank everyone in this forum that had helped me during the long wait process while waiting for my citizenship and now it's my turn to share my experience with everyone.

Filing Date for Dallas,TX 7/17/2017
Reception Date: 7/19/2017
Fingerprints Appointment: 8/15/2017
LONG WAIT UNTIL INTERVIEW
Interview scheduled: 1/28/2019
Interview Date: 3/04/2019
The IO was very nice and friendly. The questions were pretty easy:
What is the supreme law of the land?
Name three States on the Canada Border?
Name One right that U.S Citizens have?
When Should all men register for services?
Name one of the two longest rivers in the U.S?
How many senators are in the house?
The IO asked me about my name change and asked to go get an additional passport size pic from CVS if i wanted to change my name, after I got it she said I may receive a letter for the oath within 2 to 4 weeks because even though the receipt says that we can't make a decision I have passed the test. But because I had a name change, It took way longer.
My online status was finally updates on 06/04/19 where it said : we've sent you a letter with your oath date, and time...etc.
06/7/2019 I just received the letter for the oath ceremony which will take place in Dallas Municipal court District on 7/19/2019.

Yay I'm so happy! it was a long wait but I'm just glad it's finally happening soon. The whole process took exactly 23 months. Dallas is probably the longest wait time in the whole U.S. but Hang in there!
Don't lose hope! and good luck everyone!
