Military service- N400
There was mandatory services military in our original county
Should it be mention in Application ?
If the officer ask about it , what the best answer for it ?
If someone forget to mention it and letting office know during the interview, is that will effect on the decision?
Thanks for reply

N-400 (west palm beach)
Hello everyone!

Just need a suggestion from you all. I had my interview on November 6, 2018, and the officer who interviewed me gave a “decision cannot be made” as she wanted to review my file in detail and get an ok from the supervisor. She said I will receive a decision through mail in a few weeks. It has been more than “6 months” and I still did not get a decision. Made TONS of call to USCIS customer service, sent TONS of messages online, tried SEVERAL times to schedule an infopass but failed, and also put in a service request two months ago (the reply was vague that they are still reviewing my case). I am done now and I was thinking to write and send a letter direct to the officer who interviewed me at the west palm beach field office. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea? I cannot afford an attorney. Any other suggestions are welcomed :) thank you in advance.

Proudly an American 🇺🇸
It was so helpful to read lots of other people's experiences on here and I'd like to return the favor and share mine. The Pittsburgh field office was handling my case.
My journey was very stressful but I had lots of hope and my dream of becoming an American has finally come true🇺🇸Here's my timeline:

Applied: 01/09/2019
Biometrics scheduled: 01/11/2019
Biometrics appointment: 01/24/2019 Interview scheduled notification: 02/26/2019
Interview day: 04/04/2019
Naturalization ceremony notification: 04/16/2019
Ceremony: 05/22/2019

My interviewer was a very kind lady, she made me feel comfortable, and recommended me for approval the same day. Did not ask me for any documents. I had an attorney with me.

My advice to anyone applying for U.S. citizenship with more complicated cases like mine is to seek legal advice. I googled the best immigration lawyers in my town and booked free consultations with a couple of them. Hearing a professionals opinion on the matter definitely made me feel so much more at ease.

Good luck everyone! 🇺🇸

Citizenship Interview after 3 years and 7 months :)
This site is always helpful for me so I decided to share my experience here. I had Interview scheduled for citizenship in Oct 2015. Few days before the interview I got the call that my interview is on hold due to some reason and they will send me a new date. I went to the local office many time, visited the congressman office, etc did everything which I could. And the answer was the same (Application is under background check) Finally I got my interview last week . and Guess what. It took less than 30 minutes. I passed. Officer was very Nice. and it was one of the best experience. my message to other waiters. Please don't lose patience. The process takes time but it will be fruitful one day.

Timeline for LA N400 - 8 months total
Submitted Application: 9-11-18
Biometrics Appointment: 10-3-18
Interview scheduled: 4-4-19
Interview: 5-13-19
Oath Ceremony 5-22-19

Today I was sworn in after living in the US on a green card for over 20 years. The application took less than half the time I had anticipated -- LA office estimated 14 to 21? months at time of submission.

The interview was straightforward but got a very angry agent ... still, had a clean application so not much for her to vent on apart from my being late to the interview because of the glacially slow security on the ground floor of Federal Building. Showing up to the building 30minutes early is not enough ... arrive an hour early.

Good luck!

Quality review ?
Time line for Houston Application
Filed 5/29/2018
FP 6/22/2018
interview scheduled 04/16/2019
interview date 5/21/2019 , recommended for approval in the interview, officer told me will receive oath letter by my mail.
But now my online case status check change to "Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation" We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. On May 21, 2019, your case was submitted for quality review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. Once our quality review is done you will be scheduled for an oath
any one receive that notice before ? and if so how long that quality review will take? I am afraid that will be another couple of months process !!!
