No criminal record no tickets no overstayed no . And passed the test answers got them right but I got denied!!!!! Waiting for the letter to see what is the reason!!!. Very very disappointed sad and sick after a very very long wait and hopes . I’m just sick and tired of everything. They destroyed everything I was dreaming of and my whole life . It is just such a horrible feeling that I want nobody to feel it or to have the same experience

Dallas, TX - Done in 1 Year and 1 Month
Here's my timeline:

3/18 - Filed
4/18 - Bios/fingerprints
2/19 - Letter that interview scheduled arrived
3/28/19 - Interview, approved
4/11/19 - Oath ceremony

A few things to note:

- Agent was incredibly nice, appointment started precisely on time
- Up until two days ago, my online time frame STILL said 20 months (2020 date estimated)
- I have lived in the US for 42 years, uninterrupted except with some leisure trips overseas
- I had a DUI in my past (21 years ago), fortunately I kept paperwork although I'm not sure it was an issue given how long ago it was
- I am from a European country
- I lost my Greencard recently and did NOT apply for a new one, rather sent in a letter explaining that with a copy of it in my application as i was advised on the phone by someone early in the process

That's all I have to say about that.

Do you guys know how long more it will take?
USCIS told me your case is pending this is the only answer I always get.
Pray for me to get my interview and oath ceremony soon and wish me good luck.

N400
Hello everyone,

I am writing on behalf of my friend. His mother was a green card holder who got deported a couple of months ago due to providing false documents (fraud). Thus, my friend obtained her green card through her mother 5 years ago and she is in the process of applying for citizenship. Therefore, she was wondering if her mother's deportation would affect her case knowing that she got her green card through her mother. Thank you very much. She also contacted an attorney who told her that she may not lose her privilege since she hasn't done anything wrong but she is so freak out right now and need all of your help possible. Thank you very much!

N-400 Processing Time as a Combat Veteran
Hi All,

Trying to see if anyone here has/had an experience with filing the N-400 as a combat veteran during hostile period defined in section INA-329. Curious if the process will be expedited for veterans i.e. from the interview scheduling till the oath ceremony or will it be the same as the civilian processing? Thanks in advance.

Biometrics- May 10, 2018

My case finally moved outside normal processing times a couple of weeks ago..... a service request showed I was still in background check.
My case is obviously an outlier, but I’m hearing more and more people are not getting cleared in reasonable time. I was already suspicious as it took USCIS 4 months to schedule my biometrics and I received a letter in the mail from them late in 2018 saying I didn’t have a valid US mailing address! Go figure!
I had a long conversation with my lawyer.... we decided to give them a full year from my biometrics(May), and then we will try to solve this with more service requests, infopasses, letters to my congresspersons and DHS ombudsman. If all fails, we will file a lawsuit on the 2 year anniversary of my application(Jan 2020).
I’m wondering if any of the posters here have been stuck for an extended period of time in background check and what action they are taking.

I applied online for my US Citizenship on May 1 2018, has anyone that applied on May received an interview notice?

Im getting married but being waiting for my citizenship to come first since my girlfriend is not from US and I understand that it would be easier if I get to be a Citizen instead of only a greencard holder. ¿Does anyone had the same experience? Should I wait or just get married without the citizenship.
