Question on Profile in Visa Page / Updating DS-160 - Vancouver NIV
Hello everyone,

I am currently in US on H-1b. My Visa is set to expire in July 2022. I already have filled a DS-160, and got an appointment for Visa interview in Vancouver August 2022 few months ago (Luckily!).

- I am not a Canadian PR, but hold Canada visa till 2027.
- This is my 2nd H-1B extension and 2nd time appearing for Visa interview in Vancouver.

I have following questions:

- On ais.usvisa-info website, my applicant details shows "Country of Permanent Residence as Canada". This is incorrect, and should be India. I am not sure if I made a mistake while making the profile and paying fees or It defaults to this... how do I fix this? Does anyone else who is not a permanent resident also see this?
- I also made an error on DS-160, but ais.usvisa website does not allow to update DS-160, what should I do? I do not want to let go of my appointment...

Please advice, really appreciate all your experiences posted here...

Travelling to Canada for soft landing and H1b stamping
Hello All,

I have my H1B visa interview in Ottawa on May 25,2022. I have received my canada COPR and will be doing soft landing on May 21. My questions are,

1) When i land in canada, do i mention about H1b stamping or just about soft landing when asked by immigration officer?
2) I heard people who did soft landing and had plans to return back did not receive their canadian PR cards. Is it true? What did you all do then?
3) Can you all please share your H1B experience in Canada this year?
4) When i go for H1B interview is it going to cause any issue for approval due to canada PR?

Dropbox for H1B Visa Stamping , US Consulate Toronto Timelines?
Hello All,
I am a Canadian PR and I have sent in my Passports for H1b Visa stamping to US Consulate in Toronto ( I live in GTA) and they were received on March 21st. Since then I have been checking and the Status is Application Received. There has been no update in the status since then. Is this normal. What has been the normal timelines of folks who have sent in their Passports to US Consulate in Toronto?

Thanks in Advance.

Question on DS-160 and H1/H4 Visa Dropbox application (Canada)
I have following two question:

1. I was completing the Ds-160 application. Since we are working remotely (work from home) due to pandemic and our office location is permanently closed, what should I put the employer address for my current job?
2. While scheduling interview/drop-dox on ‘https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv’, for dependent H4 visa, it is asking about the Petition Number; please refer to below screenshot for details. Shall I give the my H-1B petition number (from latest approved I-797) or dependent H-4 (from latest approved I-797). Please note, I do not have the H-4 approved I-797 A but approval case notice I-797 C. Please advise.

Seeking Clarity on Documents Needed for IWP / Passport Drop-off Canada
Hi All,

I have my IWP passport drop off courier instructions from US CEAC / Toronto Consulate. The required documents **do not ask for my i-797** but only asks for **approved receipt number**. Can anyone please confirm if I really need to send a copy of my I-129/I-797 H1B approval? I've pasted the full document requirements, and it does not ask for a copy of i-797, only "Receipt Number for your approved petition" as it appears on Form I-129 or Notice of Action Form I-797

I am waiting for lawyers to send me digital copy of the forms, but if I do not need it, I can save myself 7-10 days of time which would be very helpful in my specific case.

I'd appreciate clarity from anyone on this forum - thank you! (PS: I will also call up the helpline and try get clarity)

Toronto Interview Process/H1B
Adding my experience in case it's useful for anyone. I'm an Indian citizen on an H1B. This is my second stamping. The first was done in India.

March 14: Arrived in Toronto on a visitor visa. Questions at port of entry included: status in the US, proof of status in the US (they asked for the original I-797), where I'm staying, and how long I plan to stay.
March 15: Visa appointment/interview. Questions included: title, what my job entails, where I went to college, and salary. The VO made some banter around weather/how I liked where I went to college.
March 15 (PM): Admin processing
March 16 (AM): Issued
March 17: Passport dispatched
March 18: Picked up passport from Canada post

Need help on dropbox location in Canada
Hi All,

Please guide me on my situation.

I am a Canada PR candidate living in GTA. I have got my H1B petition approved recently and I am looking forward for H1B stamping. I am eligible for IWP and can do dropbox.

1. Is there any delay in dropbox processing at Toronto location?
2. OR should I send it to dropbox at Ottawa?

Please guide me .

Thanks,
Gurpreet

First time H1B Stamping in Canada
I am looking to get my first H1B visa stamping done from Canada. I am an Indian citizen working in US on my H1B, got an automatic change of status from F1 to H1B and have never left US since then. My visa to US has not been refused in the past. I have received an interview waiver for H1B stamping in Canada.

I also have received my COPR and I plan to land in Canada to claim my PR status and submit my docs for H1B stamping the same day. Can you share your insights and experiences in this scenario? Any issues that I might face ?
