I have a regular appointment end of October 2021 at Calgary. I am currently on H1B living in the USA. Has anyone recently gone for stamping from USA to Canada for a regular appointment? I am trying to figure out the vaccination rules, crossing the border rules as well as experiences now that the borders are fully open.

Dropbox/IW Eligibility and Consulate Selection

I have an expired H1B visa (Sep 2020) but approved extension, I am renewing my visa under the same class, am a Canadian PR holder and rented an apartment in London, Ontario (2 hours from Toronto). I would like to know if I and my wife are eligible for the dropbox option. Below are a couple of my questions:
1. What does is X in possession of a previous visa being renewed mean? Does it mean that my previous H1B should not be expired? Or does it follow the same rules as 48 months since expiry due to COVID, etc? This is the only question that might make me ineligible since my previous visa expiry is past 12 months.
2. Who can confirm on this? Is it the Toronto Consulate or Ottawa Consulate? If I just call the number on their website will someone pick up and respond to this question?

Drop Box eligibility with existing Interview Appointment
Hi,
I am currently working in Canada on work permit. I am a H1 B visa holder with last stamping done in India in 2019. I have recently learned that the Drop box option has opened up for people in Canada. I have already scheduled an appointment at the Toronto consulate on june 2022 but would like to cancel that and try the Drop box option. I have already called the consulate and they said I could be eligible but they cannot say for sure and told to cancel and try it out. So has anyone tried this out and were able to successfully schedule the appointment? Please let me know your experience.

Visa Interview Status says Refused but Consular officer said Approved
Hi,
I have completed my interview today at Toronto Consulate.
At the end, Consular officer said approved and will get passport back in a week but after an hour, when I checked the status it says Refused with below text.
Please help.
A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application.

H1B Administrative Processing timeline at Toronto consulate
I submitted my passport for H1B visa renewal to Toronto consulate on Aug 31 and noticed on CEAC website that its status was updated to: "Administrative Processing"
Any recommendations on how I could get additional information to see if I could help expedite by submiting any additional documents or do I just have to keep waiting to hear back from Toronto consulate?
Also can someone make any suggestions about expected timeline when the current status to be changed?

No status updates since interview
Hello, I attended my h1b interview at Calgary consulate on Sep 13. Until now the CEAC status still shows “Application Received”. Last update time is Sep 13. Anyone had similar experience before? How long does it take for consulates in Canada to issue visa now? I’m nervous now since I seldom saw this status in other posts..

6. The visa that X is renewing has the word "clearance", "blanket", or "waiver" printed on it.
Based on these questions, I am getting dropbox option but my last H1B visa stamp was done in Mexico.
