Person to Visit's address
Hi Everyone,

Just want to ask for your thoughts and advise with regards to the ds-160 information (Address of the Person whom I will be visiting). I mistakenly entered both Richardson and Dallas as the City when the address is really at Richardson Texas. I am planning to tell the VO in an honest manner that I made a mistake in this item as this is the only reason I have.

But I am still bothered by my mistake in entering the data and afraid that this may be a cause for me being disapproved.

Thank you.

Visa approved after long interview
Thanks to Immihelp and all the users who shared their experience.
My family had interview in US embassy on 12/08/2014 and their visa was approved. the process was not easy. I filled forms for my parents and two younger sisters, (i am 22 yo single guy, already been to usa with multiple b1 b2 visa and returned home). as family visit visa is hard to obtain, i was not so sure about the result, but thanks God they got it

their interview lasted almost half hour...yep half hour of questioning.. :). My parents were a bit afraid, but as the VO was friendly, he created a friendly environment and my family started to feel comfortable as he keep questioning. Most of the questions were related to my trip and he was happy that one young family member returned and didnt abused the visa... so i think he already made the decision but just passing time with chit chat with my family :)

Best of luck with your Interview and just consider the VO as your friend. and ofcourse keep your intention clean and Dont think of staying in USA after getting the visa :)

Visa B2 Denial
Hi I am seeking advice or simply information on what the possibilities are for the situation that I am about to explain. My sister visited the USA and gave birth to her baby there about 1 year ago. My sister arrived 2 months prior to her due date. Our aunt stated that she would sponsor her while in the USA and she organised her insurance while she was there. The insurance however was obtained under the Medicaid system. My sister returned home as soon as she was able to travel with the baby. However my sister's visa expired shortly after she returned and when she went to renew it she stated on her from that she was travelling with her baby. When the consular officer asked about the baby's visa my sister stated that the baby has an american passport. When asked how she paid for the birth she stated that she was offered insurance when she got to the hospital as she wasn't a usa resident. The consular officer was very annoyed and stated that my sister wanted to return to the usa to further abuse the health system. I understand that the wrong thing was done. My sister was given a single entry visa for the trip she needed to make but she was unable to travel due to circumstances. She needed a visa to travel for work later last year and they gave her another single entry visa. This year she has the same work trip again but they denied her stating that she was found ineligible under Section 214(b) but the consular officer inquired about the method used to pay for the birth and whether she has attempted to make any payments in respect of same. He did not view any of the documents which she had with her which included receipts from a surgical procedure which the baby had to undergo in our home. country. I would like the most practical advise that can be rendered given the situation described. Is it likely that she will be barred from re-entering the USA or is it likely that it will be quite a while before she is granted a usa visa.

Need help - Complicated VISITOR VISA Scenario for Father
I am currently in India.. I went to USA on H1B (along with wife - H4) last year in Aug 2013 and I have appliled H1B extension as it got expired on Dec 2013. I returned back to India on emergency before approval of my H1B extension petition in April 2014 as my mother was sick and she passed away 2 months later.

Now I got my H1B extension petition approved and I have to get my VISA stamped again for the extended petition (for my wife as well on H4. My kid was born in US. He has US passport and he came to India on emergency VISA which is completely different story).

Now I desperately want to take my father along with me when I am travelling to USA as it will be soothe him a little after parting my mother. But being in India, i thought i cannot put myself as sponsor for his Tourist (B2) VISA. So he filled in DS160 as self sponsoring for his trip and he has 3 Lakhs in his account (5000 USD) and he has property under his name in India. VISA Appointment already has been booked for my father. Will it cause any denial either to his Visitor VISA or my H1B extension stamping?? What kind of questions he can anticipate??

I will be going for VISA stamping 2 or 3 days later after his visitor VISA Interview. What he should be telling in case if they ask whether your son will be accompanying you during the travel or in USA during your stay (In DS160 it is not mentioned that I am in US)?? Will it be causing any issue to my VISA Stamping process??

Please answer these questions. I am getting too many questions for myself :(

Error
Hi , I made a error while completing DS 160 , I selected SELF for the trip , where as my brother is the one who will sponser my trip. And he sent me the letter of invitation plus sponser letter , saying that he will sponser me completely. Although I have good business and bank balance. So should I correct the form or just don’t show them the sponser letter. Will taking two DS 160 forms cause concern in the mind of a VO.

B1/B2 Visa Approved!
Hi Everyone,

First of all, thanks a lot to Immihelp for this forum! I almost read 25 pages to understand the kind of questions VO ask and prepared accordingly.

I had my interview today at 10 AM in New Delhi.

Interview language: English (people who appeared before me were speaking in hindi and punjabi too!)
Length of Interview: 2-3 minutes

After almost waiting for 30 minutes, we were called for fingerprints check. Following is the discussion I had with the Visa Officer (VO).

ME: Hi! Good morning, sir.
VO: Good morning! how are you?
ME: I'm doing great! how about you?
VO: I'm doing good too. Can I have your passport?
ME: Sure.

VO: What is your purpose of travel?
ME: Told

VO: Is anyone else travelling with you?
ME: Yes! Told. (I was carrying an xerox of their approved visa)

VO: Have you traveled before this?
ME: Told

VO: What do you do for living?
ME: I am working as Xx with XX consulting firm.

VO: How many years of work experience do you have?
ME: Told

VO: Were you a student before that?
ME: Yes. I was studying in Xx

VO: How many people are there in your family?
ME: Told

VO: Your visa has been issued! You'll receive an SMS in next couple of days
ME: Thank you sir! Have a great day.

Very smooth process. Extremely helpful people and one of american girls was extremely beautiful :D

My 2 cents: Confidence and honesty is the key. Carry as many relevant documents as you can. It'll only make your comfortable and make you feel good.

Hope this helps! :)

All the best!
